I don't know what's more fun to click on, when you know Cornette's gonna blast something into oblivion, or a segment like this where you know Corny's gonna re-discover his love for wrestling.
These are always the most rewarding over having to focus on time-wasting shit.
I usually listen to Cornette for the comedy element of him ripping shit to pieces but I've really begun to appreciate him going through the good moments

This was the first live tv show I've tuned into in a while, and I turned it on right when this segment started. My jaw was on the floor the whole time. Paul Heyman is a star now and so is that Solo guy. And Fatu is a beast! I'm not missing anymore of these. I'm sold hook line and sinker.

@@kraig7777same here, I wasn’t buying the sleep thing from the start. It was clearly makeup, if you look like that from 1 or a few days of no sleep you got serious medical issues that need addressed.
It looks rough, but in truth it's actually the safest way to take that table bump. Throwing him through the table letting him slide down, rather than just dropping him straight down making him pancake his flat on the floor. Plus it looks way more brutal, yet way more safe. So credit to all of them for really taking care of Paul on that bump.
Paul is single-handedly making Smackdown must see tv.
I was at MSG live for that SmackDown with my wife and daughter. It was our first ever live WWE show. When Heyman denounced Solo, EVERYBODY went nuts. They were so loud I felt the vibrations in my ears. Awesome night.
I wish they could retroactively add the noise meter they've been deploying at recent PLEs for that moment on tv. I'd put it up against Drew coming out in Scotland for loudest of the year.
Jim loved this so much it took him over 5 minutes before he made a comment about Heyman's weight / appearance.
But we knew it was coming......
it's mostly tongue-in-cheek I suppose. For me, the last few months have reminded me what a masterclass Paul Heyman is. Consistently the best act on Smackdown. Not the Bloodline (they're doing fine too), but Heyman. I'd even argue that as of now, Heyman's segments are currently the best ongoing act in wrestling, period.
This entire post-Mania stretch has solidifed Heyman as the best promo in the business. Better than Cornette, late 90s Rock, Austin and Jericho, better than full NDA Mr. McMahon, and arguably on par with Dusty and Flair in their primes in terms of physical acting and body language.

@@kratosgow342 Jim might not respect hardcore wrestling and his distaste of ECW has been well documented, but no one can deny that barring Vince "Such Good Shit Janel" McMahon, Paul Heyman has been the single biggest wrestling mind/non-wrestler personality in the business, by far. And given how Vince has unashamedly ruined his own legacy, Paul takes the throne easily for me.
Heyman is the MVP of the whole storyline
and its the reason i dont like any of it. when the best part is the manager explaining the plot holes you have a bad story. solo and his three guys have a story. roman’s group did the same thing over and over they just played musical chairs on which uso was leaving and which was coming back or who was going to help roman win this week. now at least its not predictable.

I think he had some padding because he was thick in the gut area probably some sot of padding for the lower back area. They figured it would protect his back and bottom when he was sent through the table. But the table didn't break and he landed on his head rolling off the table. Paul earned his money this week.
Paul E doesn’t take bumps unless they are meaningful. He’s old school so I can imagine him sitting in creative going no no your idea sucks now let me walk you through the right way to do this.
If both Pauls (HHH and Heyman) are in on main event creative and are the ones setting the foundation, they’re in good hands. I’m sure there’s still going to be goofy dreck on occasionally, but there always has been (Choppy-Choppy 😂).

Summerslam makes sense, let this new Bloodline run wild on everyone until Summerslam where Solo takes on Cody. Then Roman comes back leading into Survivor series. At some point Rock is coming back as well so Roman needs to come back before that happens.
Survivor Series is November only two months from the Rumble. So they have time but they kinda don't.

Roman is going to get a return mega-pop like Triple H got way back in 2002 after that quad injury.
The Bloodline angle is one of the best ongoing stories I've ever seen told in wrestling. This is eventually going to lead to a Bloodline vs. Bloodline match with Roman going against Solo. Plus you've eventually got to figure they want to do something again with Rock / Roman and Cody fits into this story again, too.
Solo secretly working for the Rock just so he can say "I did it for the Rock" would make the entire decade. 😂
I think eventually you’re going to see Roman/Jimmy/Jey/Jacob vs Rock/Solo and the other three Tongans as the factions. And there’s any number of matches you could do with that combination.
