I have a 2020 F model and all I can say is 9K is where it really comes alive. Around 10K is when the front wheel lifts even with TC on. The bike is an underrated beast. I love it. It also handles like a dream. I bought it new last fall and have almost 4K miles on it now. I am in the great white north, so I really only have 3 months of riding it so far. Every time I give it the gas I fall in love again.

I also picked up my new 2022 GSX-S1000 about a month ago. I traded in my 2020 Tenere 700 to move on to my Suzuki. The GSX-S1000 is just perfect for me. I am still in the break-in period for my Suzuki. But, even during the break-in period, this bike is quick.

I like this type of review. You told us why you chose it, what else you were shopping, what you had, and all its features. Great stuff! I was honestly shocked you bought the mt07. That bike is supposed to be really mild. I watched a few comparisons of this to my black edition cb1k. The reviewers claim the cb is better, but honestly... I still want one. If i buy one, im going for that grey. Or the special colors they showed off at the euro shows. As if we are getting those colors here. I still want an mt09 sp too. But my current obsession is the new xsr 900. Oh sheeeees pretty!!!! Great content man!

I'm very impressed by the restraint. I don't think I would have been able to do it. The speed triple was my 2nd bike, ever. And there was a decades gap between my first bike and 2nd bike. And it ate me up. Too heavy, too much power, just too much bike for a n00b. So I went to a 765rs street triple. Which was AMAZING! But I hit limits with the chassis, geometry and posture for the riding I wanted to do within 2.5 years. So despite how much I loved it, it had to go. And tomorrow I'm picking up my new (to me) daytona 675r. And I can't wait. Because the power might actually be a downgrade, but the chassis and posture is exactly what I'm looking for. But proud of the restraint with your track bike.

Amazing purchase , you get liter bike performance , new modern parts , an amazing package for a price of a 2010 BMW bike, its honestly an amazing launch by Suzuki. Also i do believe a naked liter bike is the perfect street basher bike, for the more relaxed ergos and available torque through the rev range, making revving out the bike not always needed of r joy ride.

I tried to buy one of these 1000's last January but none available and still not available in KY but my dealer allowed me to put a deposit on a MT 09 due by early summer. In June I got a call from the dealer and was offered a MT09 sp that was ordered by an individual that backed out of his deal and snapped it up. Truth is I love both GXS s1000 and MT 09 so I'm delighted either way.

I have a 2019 gsx-s 1000, with a full CS racing exhaust. Fairly similar to the new model in many ways, except for some tech and maybe some better quality components perhaps. IMO it's hard to find a better value for money bike, it's plenty agile, awesome bulletproof grunty motor, extremely comfortable and I think the perfect balance for the road. It's awesome for slow speed menuevering as well, I can be crawling at a snails pace and lay it right over for some super tight turns and U-turns. You made a great choice, enjoy!

I have my eye on that bike for every reason you named. I get lost in the menus of other bikes. I am old school, once I have the suspension right, I may only adjust it from soft freeway to a little stiffer for canyons, maybe (since most canyon roads are as rough as more traveled roads the ideal setting is pretty close for both). I have been riding long enough that I can shift with no clutch as fast as a quick shifter but having one does not hurt. I could even do without those three riding modes. It looks like A mode is basically if it were cable operated so I would keep it there. I like the dash as far as the information that is on there, could be a little brighter. I don't hear you complaining about the seat and if you put in a 500 mile day with no complaints it must be near BMW quality. How is the weight ? With it stripped down like that I would assume it is pretty light especially compared to an MT-10. Not sure if it is SuperDuke light though. Please comment on that. With that engine in production so long keeps the price of parts down and keeps mod options high so Suzuki is genius when it comes to that kind of thing. The price is definitely right. Please comment if this has anti wheelie mode that is adjustable or not or if it is just traction control on or off. Is it intrusive or not. Is the ABS intrusive or do you even notice it?

Greg is this a inline 4? USA has some hot weather so would this be an okay daily ride for a place where average summer temp is 45 Celsius?

The modes don’t change the power output, only delivery characteristics. Why did you not set up the suspension yourself?

Really looking at this bike or possibly the touring model as I want to do some longer range stuff. The power and reliability for the price seems like a win. How is the wind on the highway currently on my shiver I have a touring windscreen as without it the wind whoops my ass at interstate speed.

Nice video. I really like this bike & it's so underrated. I also agree with the level of tech being just right & why does nobody ever seem to take price in to account as a significant factor?

The bash on Suzuki for "not innovating" is not taking into account what they're offering at what price and how competitive it is with their competition. The GSX-S line is giving you stone cold reliability, super bike sound, incredible handling, traction control, awesome aesthetic looks, great brakes, great suspension for the price range of way lesser bikes. Updating an older legendary engine and sticking it in a new platform and having it work perfectly and competitively in a sector is actually innovative.
I'd also have to argue in the 00s Suzuki was just so far ahead... I mean literally the K6 Gixxer 1K engine is what BMW used to develop the original S1000RR. The modern Gixxer 1000 also isn't lacking any technology to their competitors and the loaded 1000 Gixxer is about the same price as the base model of the others.
Bang for buck is unbelievably in Suzuki's corner and that's why they sell tons of bikes and why real riders love them.

Great everyday review, thanks Greg. I have been thinking about this bike for a while. Are you still enjoying it?
I bought a GSX 8S last year. I know you have tested the GSX 8R, mostly same bike with fairings. I ride around the city and in the twisties, on very much back roads. Would you recommend a trade up from the 800 to the 1000?

I can't keep track, I was watching videos of you with a scooter and then there was the Kawasaki.
I've tried the parking lot practice idea and people have never been so interested in what I was doing in my whole life. Apparently a guy in a parking lot doing a few u-turns is enough to stop traffic. Can't really fathom it, but apparently people have to stop for a few seconds to see what the guy on a bike is doing in a parking lot, to the point where they will stop in the middle of the road.

    Hi Mr Jitsu,
How do you like the bike thus far? I've went through hours of reviews and narrowed down my search of roughly 10 bikes to this one. Any longer term deductions that you found that may be helpful to know? I'm hoping to pick this up in the next few weeks.

Have you ever ridden of the Indian FTR's? wondering how these two bikes compare. I used to have a Honda 919, and i liked it...but it was too short butt to pegs for me. Sat on the Indian and it seemed better... but i have no clue how different handling would be. Now that i see this bike...it would seem to be a contender too.
