I'll waste my money on the Lectron and not have to worry about the carb when I change riding altitudes. Not to mention you get significantly better gas mileage with the Lectron. But you do you.
@@MXJEFF94 My Mikuni gives me great mileage, and I usually dont ride easy terrain. The other 4 300s I own all have Kehins and they aren't working any better than my Mikuni, but maybe because I have been a tuner for the past 50 years, instead of just giving up like some snowflake riders do.

Go half step leaner on the needle. Should clean right up. After a little tuning I have my Mikuni running better than any Lectron or Keihin I have used. I even had a 38mm Keihin ready to replace the Mikuni but not needed. I have developed a deep disdain for the Lectron after several failed attempts to get them to perform.
Awesome bike, currently trying to get my 19 300xc to run nice with the mikuni, have filed the slide and we’re getting somewhere with it now 👍🏻 clip #1 on the needle made a massive difference and cleaned things up just trying to decide if it’s too lean at clip #1 now on the 43-75 needle
I don’t blame you ( from the problem I’ve seen with the FI ) and you appear to know how to set up the bike. I think you still should go ahead with the cruise control and a stereo. lol I’ve had over 25 KTM,s and I went ahead and added all the off-road components just like you do before I put any gas in the bike.
If you had to choose one KTM, to 70% ride trails, 20% ride around your neighborhood / street, and 10% MX track every now and then (but nothing serious, no crazy jumps or anything), which bike would you choose ?!
Id love to see you try the 36mm SC2 smart carb on this bike. I just put one on my '19 300xc and it is amazing. On a different level than the Lectron. I also have a higher compression RK Tek head. This is the best bike I have ever owned
Try the Kehin with a Stic metering rod, the compare vs a Lectron. Top vid, not over the top, why cant KTM design a seat removal system like Beta or Sherco? something so simple they have to over complicate it.
I busted my right side radiator on my 2011 300 XC when I first bought it. I had ordered Bullet Proof Designs rad guards but my bike fell over in the back of a friend's truck and the rad got mashed. I ordered a new one right away.
Your bike is the bike I wanted but not available here only Husky TPI or GasGas so I bought a Gasgas. I did not want to be like my friend with several piston seizures in his Husky TPI.
Just a quick question. When you opened up the air box a bit did you have to adjust the jetting or idle air screw at all? I have a 2019 250 XC and will do that as well to mine I'm thinking.
Jay who do you recommand here in so cal that can dial in the 19' ktm 300 xc muk carbs? since you said that in the video? also at TMR when they cut the head does he also improve the water cambers for improved cooling? thanks pal can't wait for the other vids on the 19 300 build
No one really -- If keeping the Mikuni I would just buy the JD jet kit for it and can do it your self. Easy deal-- Also the Keihin from them is very good No TMR does not change the cooling-- It does just fine stock.

I have no problem getting the Mikuni to work great on my 300.. Let the other guys go ahead and waste money on Lectrons.

10,000 and KTM can't grease the dam thing. So KTM designers were drunk when they forgot to add skid plate mounts on the bike , oh my God .
Nice bike. IMHO, radiator guards are a must... weakest point on a dirt bike. Bust one, and your stuck. Good luck.

How can you get more top end speed out of the 300s? Thicker base gasket?

I just use liquid intelligence instead of thermo fans, it's boiling point is 190c.

No its pretty good to just cut it open-- the bike wants more air.

Fuel Injection is TPI on these bikes-- A good Carb set up feels great and a bit less finicky for right now-- The future will be on TPI --
XC-W is a better trail bike. Especially the 2020 and 2021
