Hey Lauren, your beef with the next Civic is the lack of lumbar support, and you're spot on. My beef is that not enough cars offer cooled seats. As a journalist and one that has the ear of the car company's, will you please let the automakers realize that now that the technology exists, people down south and the far west will be more than happy to opt for this! Thanks Lauren, and great review, much enjoyed!
awesome review. one of the best I've seen in a long time. I like the part about automotive journalists getting upset about dumb thibgs. haha! Way to hit the nail on the head! I love Honda and all their new direction is so great! can't wait for the Type R.
Great review guys. I agree there should be lumbar support and heated steering for the highest trim at least if nothing else. One last issue I take with it is that there's no volume knob - BUT, the target audience they're going for won't care much about any of those slight issues because overall this is an incredible deal - they will likely get highest sales volume in this segment. Well done Honda!
Lauren is never borin', the other channel's car shows had me snorin'!!! P.S. Lauren, please test the NEWEST 2016 Hyundai Elantra Limited, it has awesome Lumbar Support!!!
Very nice car so i wonder how rear side mirror cameras work seperately right and left i mean can we watch left and right view at the navigation screen seperately and/or both at the same time etc ?
GREAT review by both of you but it was tough to hear Lauren in parts of this video. Yah, this is a car that I will consider along with the Accord, though the Civic might be better for me since I will be driving alone 99.9% of the time. Keep up your great work and thanks for your input on this car. And yes, not sure why Honda left out the lumbar support for this car. But does the turbo take regular or premium fuel?? And I wonder if it is risky to buy a turbo in a redesigned car since there may be problems with it in the first year.
+Lauren Fix Thanks for your reply, Lauren! I am always cautious in buying first-year redesigned cars since there seems to be problems with cars like this at times and then the problems are fixed in the next year. But this new Civic is really tempting to look at, esp. with the turbo which gives it added power. I know people who have had turbos in their vehicles but those ran on premium which I do NOT want And yes, the turbos are not cheap to fix when they go wrong but that is a chance to take. So I guess this Civic turbo is different than those other engines since this one runs on regular which I like. And I like the added power since I do long distance drives at times and I need the power driving in the mountains. And not sure why Honda did not put lumbar support like you mentioned; not a deal breaker for me but it should have been in the Civic models since the Accord has it. I was considering the Mazda 6, Hyundai Sonata, the Accord, the Camry but now, I will definitely look at the Civic since it is vastly improved and looks hot (though I am not a big fan of the wheels but I can live with them). Anyhow, I subscribed to your reviews since you and Paul do a fine job with this and thanks for sharing your professional opinions. Happy Driving from New Mexico! (P.S.: I currently have a 1998 Camry LE 4-cylinder with 130,000 miles on it and I bought it new 18 years ago and it has been a VERY reliable car. And before that, I had a 1986 Accord LX 4-cylinder for 11 years and 120,000 miles and that was also very reliable.)
great job Lauren and Paul I was wondering if you would bring up the lumbar support to Honda officials at some point ? looking forward for your new reviews keep up the good work. and thank you,
you like comment? give you my comment, you are the only one engineer or report said "shut up" to other reviewer about complaint no valum nob on dashboard. I like your opinion. Honda is always do something special.
i like everything about the car except the round fog lights in front, i thing they should be wider and horizontal like the new accord... lots of room their to fill out in that area...
You are missing that the car almost drives by itself in the highway with the Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System.
are these on the lots yet? I really wanna test drive on? I am guessing not since it is not on the Honda website... I think this is the first car I see in white and actually like it.. my only complaint is why put heating in the back.. I would much rather have a heated steering wheel or even better cooled and heated seating up front..
It would had been better if you guys measured the road noise or briefly talked about it. Civics are known to have road noise which gradually tends to get worst over time. They have gotten away by offering Civics sub 20's, but 25 and up for a civic will be a tough decision to make. It is almost the same price as Accord Ex model.
Why did Honda remove the standard e-brake lever? cost probably. On the other hand those of us who feel safer, knowing that this lever is close to our right hand, for emergencies, such as: have fun session while driving in the snow, we as a people, are totally left out. Honda bring back, the e-brake lever please!!!!!!! I enjoyed your report, very much
i would prefer it if they tested the base models. not many will buy the highest end and we all know what we get with high end models (leather, navigation blah blah blah)
Consumer Reports actually recommends the base model of the Civic. They say that the infotainment is significantly easier and faster to use on that one. They say if you can find it, the base model does come with the option of Honda Sensing, but not all dealers will have that exact car in stock.
1) 2016 Scion iA 2) 2016 Honda fit 3) 2016 Honda Civic 4) 2016 Mazda3. I am having trouble deciding on what car I should get. I have shortened the list down to these 4 cars. If I were to purchase any one of these cars, it would be the base model and automatic. What do you guys think? Which car would you choose and why? Thanks for the feedback. I can't decide!
Considering what's on the market today. The Scion will no longer be available after 2016 so you should be able to get a good deal on one. The Honda Fit is kind of small which is why I would personally suggest the Civic and unless it's too much room for you. Check out our review on the Honda Civic. The Mazda three is a good choice as well but overall I would purchase the Civic if I have the four options.
+betoski I would recommend Civic, Mazda, Fit then Scion. All are good choice but for base model, the Civic got it cover, MPG, Room, same quality ride as the Mazda3. Resale is another benefit value.
Wish you didn't speed up the video on the initial gesturing and selection using the touch screen... this is literally the only downfall of this car - the touch screen needs some improvement; double inputs, missed gestures, slow moving and no feedback. All that said, I'll be purchasing one soon.
Starting generation 9. All new honda look like euro economy car. Search civic eg coupe, civic ek9, civic fd2. That is the best design. Totaly look like jdm. Miss honda from two fast two furios
Nice car to look at & drive but the outside convex mirrors give you a false distance of other cars around you, cars look 100Ft. away are really only about 40 Ft, a safety hazard.
Et tu Brute? Mazda ( in their cheaper models ) and now Honda. A CD is not just a certificate of deposit. It is something you have invested in and expect to listen in your new unit. Notice that all other Honda models still have cd players, but not this baby. I'm sure I'm not the only one complaining. Did you guys have to sign a gag order on this one?
Be careful, my 2016 CIVIC EX needs a new AC compressor. Just out of 3/36000 warranty. Other have the same or similar problem. The dealer is asking for $1,600. Please please do your research before buying. Yes, I am pissed.
I own this car and it's great... but the infotainment system is TERRIBLE. Car Play and Android Auto are cool, if you like to plug your phone in. If you don't want to plug your phone in, give it a good test before you buy. I'm very dissatisfied with the audio system interface. I love the drive though and I averaged 41 mpg last tank which almost makes up for it.
Yet, a Kawasaki Ninja H2 is the same price and it completely trumps supercars. Cars are the worst racing platform ever. Way too overpriced for the power to weight ratio.
As a long time 10 gen civic owner this is one of the most on point reviews they got my touring on point
I just picked up this car in white. Love it!
Still love it?
First time I saw a review by you two and like it very much. Great job on this new Honda. This Civic is likely the best Civic ever.
I just bought the 2016 Honda Civic Touring Rallye Red. I love it. Great Car! Love all the features.

Great review! Good insight, honest evaluation, a 'real people' review! Look forward to more .... but gonna buy a Civic! :)
I enjoyed your non hype approach to reviewing the 16 Civic. Nice job!
Phenomenal review! Thank you for being so thorough with it.
nice car!!!! the back reminds me of my 2012 civic
awesome review. one of the best I've seen in a long time. I like the part about automotive journalists getting upset about dumb thibgs. haha! Way to hit the nail on the head! I love Honda and all their new direction is so great! can't wait for the Type R.

Very nice car so i wonder how rear side mirror cameras work seperately right and left i mean can we watch left and right view at the navigation screen seperately and/or both at the same time etc ?
I'm 25 and I got a Honda civic touring! 😋 great car!
What colour did you picked? Do you have any regrets picking it?
I’m 19 and I got the Honda Civic ex
Yeah I really love the red color and nice review Lauren fix love it.
wow great..totally changed 2016 honda civic wanna buy

+Doug Celeste Many of these cars run on regular fuel. Turbo are proven to give power and great fuel economy

I love it , good job on the review
I test drove the Touring. It's a great car. If you haven't done so, then I would recommend it.
I got that Gray color for my Honda Civic 2016 EX. I was planning to buy the black one...
That is a beautiful car.
nice video...I'm thinking about getting this one exactly
Great Review!!! Thanks!
More details on brakes and stopping distance please :)
I think this is a great option for a 40+ with a family! Affordable and larger.
This car rocks i want to buy the coupe model, any idea if the SI model will come out in the new year, cheers
You are missing that the car almost drives by itself in the highway with the Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System.
very nice review ...

Is it true that even the Touring trim lacks a driver's seat lumbar adjustment? I hope this is not the case--that would be a mistake....
How is the road noise ?
hi Both, nice review. my wife has the 08 Civic, one thing we hate is the Road Noise in the civic. How do you think this fared there?
It would had been better if you guys measured the road noise or briefly talked about it. Civics are known to have road noise which gradually tends to get worst over time. They have gotten away by offering Civics sub 20's, but 25 and up for a civic will be a tough decision to make. It is almost the same price as Accord Ex model.
Rahuley Shar this is the top tier civic they have always been around that price the lowest tier is 18k
Does this car run on synthetic oil or regular oil? How often does it require for oil change? Great review and extremely helpful btw.

I enjoyed your report, very much
I think most manufacture use the e brake is it gives more room for things in the centre console .
That red color is going to fade in our hot Texas sun.
+jvolstad you need wax car every week. i live in Los Angeles, same here
lolx no it wuldnt cuz its a honda
+jvolstad We chose that one to match WC's nose
How does this car drive in the snow?
Just curious what cars in the 25k price points have lumbar support
+Charlie Wang GOOD POINT! i was about to say .
+Charlie Wang
Volkswagen Golf
+Charlie Wang : The Accord EXL I4 has it. It starts at $26k.
i would prefer it if they tested the base models. not many will buy the highest end and we all know what we get with high end models (leather, navigation blah blah blah)

What about the noise level?
Ben Stern xxx xr reread the same
1) 2016 Scion iA 2) 2016 Honda fit 3) 2016 Honda Civic 4) 2016 Mazda3.
I am having trouble deciding on what car I should get. I have shortened the list down to these 4 cars. If I were to purchase any one of these cars, it would be the base model and automatic. What do you guys think? Which car would you choose and why? Thanks for the feedback. I can't decide!

How does she handle snow?
+StarKnight777 excellent winter traction with snow tires. FWD with all-season is acceptable
nice
That road noise though

Nice car. i will welcome it when the ship arives at the European harbour in 2017.
I still love my 8thgen SI over this
Nice car to look at & drive but the outside convex mirrors give you a false distance of other cars around you, cars look 100Ft. away are really only about 40 Ft, a safety hazard.
keep getting a 2010 Ford Fusion vibe from the front end...I don't know why. Back end looks ugly> rest of it seems nice.

I would get this in manual since automatics are boring as hell to drive
Everyday Products the 1.5l turbo only comes with the CVT
Be careful, my 2016 CIVIC EX needs a new AC compressor. Just out of 3/36000

This month Honda released a TSB (19-091) where they are replacing faulty condensers, but no compressors.

$26k? I rather buy a Volkswagen GTI.
+David Ha think about the reliability

I hope the 2 door coupe is more exciting then this dud!
CVT RUIN THE VEHICLE
+The PoossyDestroyer : I test drove other cars with a CVT, but this one on the Civic was responsive and nice. You ought to check it out.
is the car that NOISY in the inside or is it your audio so bad? or were you driving with the roof open? either way sounds ANNOYING !
+marcos estrada I've driven one and the interior is incredibly quiet. I think the camera audio quality is poor.
+marcos estrada It was quiet to me when I test drove it.
gay automatic get a manual
wow great..totally changed 2016 honda civic wanna buy
