Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лип 2024
- 2016 will be known as the "Year of Honda" and this completely redesigned 10th-generation Civic sedan is the first vehicle to be designed under the new lofty standards. Sporting the first-ever production turbo engine [for a Civic], a spacious and luxuriously appointed cabin, and driver assistance tech that was only found on expensive luxury cars [just a few years ago], Honda is finally ready to bring its best-seller back to segment best status. Have they succeeded? Find out now!

The 911 just slammed it after they passed in front of Ya. lmao
hahaha I noticed that too
I have to say, I'm proud of you good sir. You have come a long way with your reviews all the way up to the point where you are now one of the first few reviewers to test this car. Keep on doing amazing in depth reviews and thank you for all that you do!
+itachii267 We were quite honored to be one of the first to get access to this important model for Honda. Happy you enjoyed the review, a lot of people are going to be purchasing this hot new car when it hits the market next month.
+Redline Reviews A random question, but do you watch Empire?
+Redline Reviews when will it be released on the honda site?

honda did a really good job with this new civic. very impressive
Definitely. It's very sexy looking tbh. Eye catching for sure
They really upgraded the Civic for this generation, I don't see the point of buying a 2016 Accord with this baby around
+Portishead Biscuit Well, the Accord is still a much larger car with more rear seat room and trunk space. You can also get a V6 engine in the Accord and overall, its still a more substantial and refined car. Trust us, there are still plenty of reasons why buyers would choose the Accord at the Honda dealership.
+Portishead Biscuit Civic and Accord suits people of different needs.
+Portishead Biscuit The Accord is supposed to get a redesign too in 2017 or 2018.
You should see the point of buying a new 2015/2016 mustang. They are way superior in looks for their price point. Just saying
+Portishead Biscuit The civic is for the LGBT community
Does anyone else think acura is a totally pointless brand now?
+Kyle Counter but acura looks so much nicer
People stay want to pay more for "brand prestige", especially in the United States. That's why the u.s. market is the only one where Acura(Honda),Infiniti(Nissan) and Lexus(Toyota) exist.
+Mrlolibre Lexus and Infiniti also have a little more diversity.
+Mrlolibre Lexus is still a step above from Toyota and it's sold (nearly) worldwide.
+venichen1 Acura cars are just Honda clones with body kits. Same with Infinity. The G27 vs the 370z. Lexus has cars that Toyota would never include like the V8 engine.
I think the AWD opitions on the Acura make it a bit more unique, but you can just put that on the Honda as options as well.
Utterly fantastic review. Love those long shots of you wringing out that 2.0 MT--love that you chose to include it. No one else does it like you, Sofyan. Keep up the great work
I love the way the news Civics look and I love how in-depth your videos are! Everyone else's videos are around 5 minutes and not nearly detailed enough for my liking. Thanks for being awesome!
Never thought I'd be this impressed with the way a Civic looked.
I am so in love with redline reviews been watching your older reviews too. I love you sofyan big fan!!
Yes, been waiting for this! And what's more, this review looks more professional than ever. Well done!!
Thank you for a great revue! I always turn to you first for the most intelligent and concise reviews of cars that interest me! Keep up the good work!
You have came such a long way with the reviews.. You are in my top 3 best car reviewers love the details you always give keep up the good work!!
That Porsche at 6:14 LOL
yup... lol
+Aaron Chris Leang Triggered by a Civic wow the insecurity heh
+Aaron Chris Leang wait another 5 seconds (6:19)
Great job with this video. So much info and you really covered the features very well on this new 2016 Honda Civic.
lol jason! what are you doing here? Go back to your channel ;) jk
TEST DROVE THIS TODAY...GOING TO BUY IT...DRIVES LIKE A DREAM!!
ive never been a japanese car guy but this civic presses all the right buttons for me.
Agree, what more could you want from a good daily driver? Reasonable price, good MPG, nice interior, Honda reliability, cheap to insure, tech savy instruments, distinguishable looks (actually stands out and not so boring) and good crash ratings.
+Samwise Drogod except the fact that the higher end models of the Civic only have a CVT, which is RUBBISH.
james 699 True, if you want a "different" civic maybe a SI or the upcoming type R is right for you. DId you see the new unveiling of the 2016 civic yet? It looks pretty good to me.
Let me guess, Chevy Malibu?😂
Woah are you serious? Two trims in the same video? Man, this is gold! This is a first! Thank you!
And speaking of which, this is a generation that I would actually consider buying, especially the 6 speed manual, even if it has less power. I actually prefer the lower trim because of its more analogue features such as obviously, the stick shift but also the tachometer which has a real needle to it.
Honestly, you guys are moving up in the world, to think that you be not only the one of the first to review it, but you're actually driving them, that's right, both trim level!
I'm proud of you guys and happy to have subscribed to your channel.
Excellent review Sofyan! When I saw the Live-stream reveal of this vehicle, I was amazed by how much hard work and effort that Honda had put into the tenth generation of the Civic, as I definitely think that this is the best looking version to date.
I was also impressed with the new 4K video quality that was implemented into this review as well :)
- Michael
Now that's Redline reviews for you. That's the first time that I see an actual graphical explanation of how the engine works, rather than just trying to explain it verbally. You can see that they really care about their audience.
Redline Reviews are the only car reviews on youtube I watch. Just from a visual stand point you didn't hold the camera and show the entire interior like you usually do so I was slightly disappointed in that. Keep your camera angles that we are so accustomed to please!
+kevinsapokguy Thanks for the feedback! We are certainly taking all suggestions into consideration. We are still in the process of testing new camera angles, so please be patient while we are in this transition period.
Sofyan you the best no matter what!!!!
Got the Touring couple of days ago... it's an awesome car. Big difference between the LX and the top tier Touring as far as driving feel goes and everything in between
ILX sales will suffer with this new model.
yep
+pedrof830 There were no ILX sales (relatively speaking to the market)
Huh?
I mean if you want a geared-automatic instead of a cvt, then that's why you would get the 8 speed dual clutch from the ILX. But lets see what they'll do for thr ILX and the rest of the acura's
Eric Thach
He seems to like this CVT, I don't like ANY CVT, no matter who makes it, much prefer DCT, normal automatic or stick, of course!
This guy is sharp and I always like his professional delivery on reviews. That was quite smart to position the POV Sony Action Cam where the steering wheel blocked the speedometer.
Just picked up my Civic Touring 4-door sedan today. I'm gonna love this car, more safety and sport features than Honda has ever offered. Really plush, the interior leather feels smooth & soft. Too soon to tell much, but the way this vehicle handles it's going to be in my driveway for a LONG time!
I love my 2013 Honda Civic! :) finally I can call it my car since I just got my permit.
stick shift FOREVER....18:26, manual is still fun to drive... love it :)
Loving the new camera and mic! Shots overall looked great. Very steady camera work with some cool new framing.
Keep up the great work!
i test drove a touring yesterday and it was fantastic , currently driving an 09 SI and wow the turbo has so much more torque right off the line so useable and feels quite quick was really impressed
Honda nailed it! Finally an attractive, competitive, fun to drive economy car.
I should have waited!!! I bought the Acura ILX 2016, and this would have been perfect. It would have been cheaper too!
I think the ILX looks sexier, but the si is going to be a beast tho
Ricardo Torres si is out & it's alright.
you make the most honest and real reviews I've ever seen bro. great work. #winning
Excellent presentation Sofyan! Your best overall review to date! Thank you for the depth full overview of this new generation Civic! You hit on all the points that I could ask for, to make a buying decision, just short of driving the car.
I still don't understand the fascination with a soft touch dash Board.....unless you're going to sit on it or constantly touch it I see no big deal.
Hard plastic dashboards tend to rattle more as they get older.
+Didimo Bautista BINGO!
+Ike n meek A soft touch can prevent noises inside the cabin after a time using the car, or when you're driving on a bumpy road (instead of hard plastic) or something like that.
+Didimo Bautista Or crack! I've got an 02' Mitsubishi Galant and when I got it, it had a big crack down the middle. It has rattled to the point that a big chunk is missing and you can see the back side of the instrument cluster from the front of the car.
Give me a break. It's about perceived quality, nothing more. A good quality plastic dash will not rattle and actually last longer than any soft touch dash.
I typically don't like Hondas but I have to say this one is really nice. The Corolla on the other hand is just an embarrassment at this point with its twelve year old engine and soft chassis.
Exactly how I feel amen!!!
+Insanity Crow Toyotas have always been geared towards a softer ride. Same with Camry. Just the nature of the beast. That 12 year old engine is rather boring, but you'll never kill it.
+Audioquest56 They had time to perfect the engine. I personally would never buy one but some people really do just want a comfortable point A to point B car that won't let them down. To those people it's hard not to recommend a Toyota
Wow what a great review, thanks for taking the time to make this review, great job!!
Test drove one today. Interior is legit and feels premium vs last gen. If it weren't for the CVT I would def trade my 13 civic in, but this will still print money for Honda. Great review, keep it up.
Turbos are the way to go. If it truly is 7.5 second then its close to the T4 engines of Volvo. Its really more upscale now and the torque feel, the engine power is what is most welcoming. The padded leather interior is also luxurious now and a sure competitor against European counterparts.
Well done Honda, but you reformed only after taking a hit for such a long time
I think Hondas been investing on Honda Jet lately, why they kinda slow response to the world, now the new CEO seem to hit VTEC hard!
+Constantine Joseph agreed. As if we can see the problems they definitely know what is going on too. They just need to hit VTEC if u know what i meant.
+CKPHH They have to, or they're looking to become a Datsun
+Constantine Joseph Nah Honda is just lagging that's all. you must have forgotten about the f1 era, the vtec on motorcycles in 1983, and the k series . The highest naturally aspirated k series So far is 500 horsepower.
ID say Honda is still in it. they also are the only manufacturer with an awd system without a driveshaft.
I did not forget about the great Honda Mclaren era. They can and have the potential to compete with the very best. I hope with the Acura or Honda NSX 2 we will see the new Honda arrive with the baby NSX and replacement for s2000 and of course the awaited 2017 Honda Civic type R. Also hoping for an EURO R accord which are turbocharged accords.
Center console looks kind weird. You have to remove the cup holders in order to get to the rest of the console storage compartment?
Excellent video. Bought a Touring on Friday and loving all the features. Its more expensive but worth every penny
low end torque is something honda needed badly. good to see they added this. excellent review as always!
Totally obliterates the Corolla and rest of the competitors except possibly the Mazda 3. I''ll have to wait to see the Type-R and see if Mazda releases a Mazdaspeed version to make up my mind.
+MoN27E Depends what your priorities are. Space isn't a big priority of mine and I can't say anything about the Civic's interior because I haven't checked it out in person. The Mazda's interior has received rave reviews and I was impressed. Handling and dynamics are top priorities of mine and Mazda has a slight edge in that. Again, can't say anything until I check out the Civic.
+CM agreed. toyota must be shiting themselves now.
Oh idk the refreshed focus isn't too bad
It can't obliterate the dew design of the mustang
If they can surpass a mustang or Camaro's they will outsell Toyota or Mazda just by looks alone
Any news on the 2016 civic si?
Seriously great review one of the best on youtube!
Very good review. Making me want to go back to the Civic again!
That Porsche 911 tho
very nice review thank you! by the way, did you say that the 2016 coupe will be here next winter? was hoping it will arrive sooner!!
+chrisiden Coupe will arrive this winter! We suspect the Type R will probably be launching sometime next winter.
+Redline Reviews well that's the worst news I heard all day, I want to see the SI already
+Redline Reviews Can you please review a Lincoln Navigator Reserve and show us how the Ecoboost V6 is capable to GM's 6.2L Ecotec-3.
***** i think my 2002 RSX Type S looks better👍👌🔰😉. I'm only interested in the new si if it's turbo or not
+Ricardo Torres i read somewhere that the new SI will be a turbo for sure. i personally am going to keep my 14 SI until at least 2018 when they can get the kinks out of the turbo engine.
Wonderful review! Man if this was out back in august, it would have been a top contender in our car shopping. Went with an Impreza limited fully loaded, same price as this touring. So for the same price Honda delivers more power lane keep assist (opposed to just warning), and heated rear seats. Well done Honda, these are going to sell well!
Ive had this car almost 9 years never had one issue with it. Honda for life.
none of the dealers in CA. carries the 5sp so it's impossible to buy one. Thanks Honda...
The Porsche got butt-hurt because it couldn't beat the Civic Type R in the Nurburgring
Great job on this review! Good filming and presentation techniques, solid all around. +sub
Love your reviews man.
rest in peace Corolla
Stoooop with the all chrome door handles, car designers! And they needed to break up that big piece of silver in the front grille, in my opinion.
Even though I'm only a car designer student, I think the full chrome covering the grill looks pretty good. The door handles and the grill chrome section would probably have a darker finish for the Si and Type R versions. You also need to understand that Honda is trying to target a larger audience with their new design language.
+Roland Ocomen hey man I'm curious to what kind of work you do as a car designer student, I am interested too in becoming a car designer :)
+thecamlog so basically we draw cars that have purpose. It's such a broad field, like there's many aspects of car design that you can focus on such as just exterior design, interior design, or clay modeling. You should really check out College for Creative Studies website to find out more info! :)
+Ironman Fingerprint magnet.
This was a great review and this guy's presentation is perfect.
Great review. I can't wait to see it in person because it looks like the car is huge compared to the previous versions of the Civic. Although I'm glad they still keep the miles per gallon numbers up that's always been a bonus for Civic owners.
Nice car but does anyone else think the back looks a bit weird? Not a big fan
exactly. I would like the headlights alot more if they left off the little reflector on the trunk/boot.
Why the hell does USA get a 1.5liter turbo with 173hp civic and Europe gets 2.0Liter turbo with 300hp?
You've got the best reviews hands down
I love the fact of that you are in Malibu California finally in SoCal. I went to the Orange county international auto show this last weekend actually amazing..
The car looks awesome. The only thing that disappoints me is the rear end. it looks terrible. i am so disappointed on Honda for making this Civic with a cool front but ugly rear.
I may consider buying this car in 15 years. by then it will have depreciated as much as it can and will still be reliablel car. never buy new
Shouldn't you be watching 2001 Honda Civic videos then? I had one of those 5 months ago until it got hit badly. Now I'm in a 2015 Civic Si and it's my second new car following the one I had for the last 14. The tech and convenience in my new car has me kicking myself for not upgrading sooner, Honda vehicles have the knack to make you drive them forever. Cars are not JUST cars anymore.
+Dime Slinger cars are the same as they have always been. They are terrible waste of money when purchased new
dave houston
no they're not. There is so much connectivity and more implemented systems to assist driving from 15+ years ago. If you really feel like cars are strictly for bare bones transportation, then you might as well be better off taking public transportation like the bus.
+Dime Slinger yes they are they are pieces of steel with an engine. Same as always. Anything more is incentive to waste your hard earned money on a depreciating asset.
+shumpie41 Similar situation for me. 2014 was barely any cheaper. A brand new 2015 had less miles (duh) and longer warranty. I think the price difference was only around 1,000 but I can't remember.
this is the top 3 of car review engineers or report on UA-cam for sure.
Good review. I appreciate the simplicity of it. 👍🏻
cool looking car BUT...they are starting to move towards CVT just like Nissan.
+ricecakeFTW It's all about fuel economy.
+ricecakeFTW can you pinch my ass?
Honda CVTs are programmed much better and don't self destruct at 50000 miles unlike Nissan cvt
+Audioquest56 my 2012 cruze eco gets avg 42+ MPG and has a 6 spd manual.
+Mike Miller Well, only time will tell. Also, a CVT that mimics shift points so it can "feel" like a "normal" transmission. Why even bother....it is what it is. lol
I'm 3 minutes into this video and the word 'particular' was used 5 times...twice in back to back statements.
I love your reviews thanks for the info!
I haven’t had a car since I was 19 and it was an old hatchback...I loved it. I’m thinking of getting this used. I really can’t see anything wrong with it. 😊
Honda must be careful, they are stepping on Mazda's toes.
+Kellan Larson At least the Mazda 3 has lumbar support!
more like on acuras toes
+TheMisterTroll02 more like their own toes lol
2% will go for the stick
COME ON, AMERICA
+Eric Leippe Great review by the way
+Eric Leippe I worry that stick shifts might end up dying once self driving cars become the norm :/
***** well yeah, I mean it would be pretty funny to have an auto-auto that you had to shift for
The si will be coming for people who want a stick and a turbo
manicbidder The Type R is amazing, I would probably buy one if I had the scratch (I know it's expensive, but damn it's awesome)
Oh my, I really am expecting & looking forward to a very very good SI & Type R review video from you. Great review man
love each of your video!
I really like this new civic, finally I have to say good job Honda! Good video review.
Great video. It gives a lot of information about the car and its features.
best review of this car so far.
Awesome review, Sofyan! The white colour option is by far the most gorgeous one in my opinion.
The 10th generation is a huge transformation and the company listened to its customers
You easily do the best car reviews on UA-cam or really anywhere
I was never a huge Civic fan, but I've always admired the styling and the quality of the cars throughout the last 2-3 generations. I'll be in the market for a new car within the next few months and I'm 90% sure I'm going to get one of these. The Touring trim in white is my ideal version and I should be able to purchase it for under $26.5k new, and maybe even in the low 20s if I can find one that was used as a lease vehicle at a "Rent A Car" place for a few months with low mileage (under 10k).
Good review! I like you outside, profiling the car, and in casual clothes. Can't wait to see the hatch.
thank you for showing the arm rest and cup holder, as well as the rest of the storage compartments. now i feel like i can make a proper decision towards buying the new civic.
Nice review. While I'm enjoying my new 2015 Civic Coupe ExL I'm kicking myself because of the desire for the turbo in the 2016. I test drove the Civic Coupe SI but at this point in my life I don't desire manual shift anymore. Excited to see the 2016 Coupe.
You’re making me wanna buy one now
You did a really good job man...Thanks for that...
I'm still getting used to the body lines, but I think it's growing on me. Definitely setting itself apart from the other cars, and I like that. They're finally remember the company they used to be.
AWESOME REVIEW! Great Job
Love it. Will definitely be considering it when it hits the market.
Awesome review, thank you!!!
Well done. I appreciate the details.
Awesome Porsche acceleration rev and engine sound at 6:20. Sounds so bad ass. !
Love the intro, great review.
I'm in love with this car!
Other than the annoying focusing issues of your camera (kept focusing behind you) great review as usual!
very nice review .. loved it. ..
Love my 16 Honda Civic LX 2.0l 6spd. The Canadian version has the touch screen and heated front seats and more.
wow verry nice also I like the kia cadenza review you did you do good reviews
That review was awesome. That's so much for the detailed review and specially the engine sounds while driving.
Tbh, I found the turbo CVT sound very underwhelming, I was disappointed (but maybe it will be different in person). I would love to see a comparison between this and the 2006 Mazda 3 GT please!
Great review! This Civic will be very competitive!
very nice review thank you!
22 minutes of Honda goodness!
