- Welcome back! Today I am sharing a wrap top diy sewing tutorial for the Romy Wrap, a romantic wrap style blouse with a peplum skirt and button closures. For this version, I decided to lengthen the sleeves (the original pattern features 3/4 length sleeves) and created a long bishop sleeve style for some extra romance. Romy is available in U.S. sizes 0-30 with B, C, and D cup options.

I love that you include the details on seam finishing. It really completes the piece.
Thank you Jenn! :)
The tip with the facings and the interfacing is an amazing idea, thank you so much ❤❤❤loved the top and all the finishing techniques you shared ❤
This video convinced me to get the pattern. Flat felled and french seams are my love language. ♥️ Looking forward to making it!
Aw thank you so much for that, hope you enjoy making it! And thanks for watching! :)
Great tutorial, especially the flat felled seams. Love the look of the Bishop sleeves.
Thank you!
gorgeous blouse, and I am so impressed with your sewing skills
Thank you so much!
Your tutorials are the best! You make everything seem so easy, and I love how you finish the interiors. I've had this pattern, and Ferm, for some time. I guess it's time to stop procrastinating and to make them. Thanks for the bishop sleeve add-on.
Ah thank you so much, I appreciate that! And thanks for trying the patterns. I do love pretty insides 🤩
i just bought the Romy, the Bishop sleeve add-on, and the Poppy blouse. I fell in love with both tops immediately and can't wait to try making them. I'm going to follow the tutorials as I sew. :-)
I would love to try this!!!!!!
But I'm a beginner so I should just stick with simple stuff for now......
I love it!!!!
You explain so well! Love the finish on your garments.
Thank you so much!
Such a pretty top.
This is fantastic, i’ve sewn vintage patterns where the lining and the facing did not match up with the entire bodice, showing how the pieces fit together and how you attach them is priceless
You’re a great seamstress and designer, love your channel ⭐️
Thank you so much for watching! Glad you found it helpful!
I have found this dress I really like on Sessùn only store, but it's a bit pricey. Your pattern actually is very similar to that dress. Thank you for this detailed tutorial.
I love how you finish the interiors too, pure glam!! finesse !!
Thank you! I do love pretty insides :) Makes a handmade garment feel extra special.
So pretty! Thank you for the expansion and the great sew along.
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching! :)
Casey, this is a great tutorial. A Romy top might be in my future. It is a perfect garment to stretch my sewing muscles and up my game.
Thank you so much! I hope you try it and enjoy the pattern!
Another great sewalong. I particularly liked the way you finished the edge of your front facing, I’ll definitely be giving that a try!
Casey, your tutorials are the best.I am making each one of them
Thank you! So happy you're enjoying them!
I just bought the pattern and I’m so excited to make it tomorrow. I’m using a warm rust colour linen blend for fall and I’m going to do sleeves like your orange floral one.
Oh good! So glad you are making it. That sounds beautiful!
Great tutorial! Looks like I'll be getting this pattern!
Thank you! :) hope you enjoy making the pattern!
I used your technique to finish the inside of the facing! Genius! Since I don’t own a serger, its a big help to make the inside look good too! Thank you!
I love that little trick! Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
That is drop dead gorgeous! Well done!!
Thank you so much!
Your finishes are great. I'm inspired todo more of the same.
Fantastic. I love how well you finish off the garment. Love, love your patterns. Gonna buy this 100%. Your designs seem to suit the slightly curvy figure. Delighted. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much! :)
About to make my first Romy, thanks for this!
Oh good!! I'm so glad, thanks for making it!
Fantastic finish. Thank you for sharing!👏💪😍
Thanks so much!
This is a very cute top. Looks great!
Thank you! 😊
Amazing !! Love this
Thank you!!
Very clear and direct instructions. ty
Thank you!
I love how you assemble the fabric pieces like an architectural construction - "sew this like this and later it will conceal this or that". (I paraphrase!) Also, the whole sleeve and side seam is sewn as one operation, not as a side then sew the sleeve , then attach them together. That method gave me trouble and puckeryness. Your method is so much simpler!
I agree, the "set-in" sleeve construction is so much easier when it is attached before sewing the side seam! That is my preferred method for sure! I'm all about pretty details when I can work them in! Thanks for noticing! :)
Niiiice :D
Just bought and downloaded (and printing as we speak) the pattern! Excellent made my dear
Love that! :) Thanks so much for buying it, hope you love it!
Love the top. 😍
Thank you! :)
I have this pattern (in fact I think I have all your patterns 🤣). This one is top of my sewing list, which I’m hoping to get to at some point in the near future, but we are in lockdown and homeschooling mode here in the UK at the moment, so sewing is having to take a back seat for now. Can’t wait to get going on the Romy though, thank you for the sew along and the free extension.
Ah that makes me so happy! Thanks for trying the patterns. Stay safe out there. And thanks so much for watching! :)
Nice & clear
Thank you dear
Thank you for watching! ❤
May I make a suggestion? Please forgive me if I missed it, but would you consider rating your patterns for their level of difficulty. Yes, I'm a new sewist, and I could use that guidance. I purchased the Roma Wrap Top sewing pattern, and I made so many mistakes that I just gave on the mock-up. I'm not quitting on the final piece. I'm just going to take a few days off and recuperate from that horror show. Just to be clear, it had nothing to do with your pattern or directions. It was all me.
Wooooowwwww fantastic sister ❤️
You did it nicely 😘
Good luck for a bright future in fashion designing
Many thanks! :)
I just purchased the pattern. this will be my weekend make! wish me luck :-)
Aw thank you so much! I hope you enjoy it. Happy sewing! :)
I will upload pictures once its done!
Awesome! Please do!
Very nice
Thanks!
❤❤❤❤❤
I am very inspired by this pattern! I have two questions: 1. Could you explain or show me how to do a small bust adjustment? 2. Do you think medium or light weight linen will work for this pattern? Thank you so much%!
I think a light weight linen would be beautiful for this pattern! And I have a blog post with pattern adjustment instructions (including a small bust adj) here: patternscoutstudio.com/blogs/romy-wrap-top-dress-sewalong/romy-wrap-sewalong-part-6-common-pattern-adjustments?_pos=2&_sid=513cff41b&_ss=r
Great tutorial! How would you recommend sewing the sleeves in without a serger?
Thanks! You could finish them with a flat felled seam or trim the seam allowance down and zigzag stitch the edges for a faux-overlocker effect. :)
This is so great!! I love the sleeve expansion and watching this video is really testing my willpower to not go buy that fabric, haha.
Thank you, Danielle! Haha it is really nice fabric (Measure has soooo many gorgeous fabrics)!
Your sew along is among the best I have seen (very clear and concise) ans Romy is a very pretty blouse. I always consider buying it, however I doubt that it will work for me, being designed for a person with a short torso (mine is long). Will it be easy to lengthen the bodice? I am a beginner sewist.
Thank you so much! I also have a long torso, so it *might* work out ok for you since I designed it for a little longer torso! But it is also easy to lengthen and I give guidance for lengthening the bodice and facing in the pattern instructions. :)
@@PatternScout Perfect, thank you so much!
Hi Casey, I purchased this pattern and would like to shorten the bodice pieces by 1 an 1/2 inches. Not sure how to blend the pattern pieces and facings. Could you help
Please can you show how to draft the patterns

hey, i have a question, are you washing all ur project including this one with washing machine ? or by hands?, thank your, love your work
For this blouse, I hand wash (although, I did machine wash it before I made the garment). It just depends on the fabric...most of my projects are made of fabrics that are machine washable. :)
@@PatternScout awe thank you so much for the info, i learn a lot from ur video, ❤️
Wawwwwwwwww
😊
Onde está a modelagem?
Do you have a tutorial for the fern top
Not yet...that one is on my todo list! :)
@@PatternScout that would be great as I have just bought the pattern
