By the way, this is the second project for my MakeNine2020! It's been over a month since I've done the first one, Athina Linen Top. ua-cam.com/video/S6E530swyv0/v-deo.html I can't believe it's already March 2020! Time definitely flies for me this year. How's your MakeNine2020 project going? Making progress and so far so good?
Your videos are so calming and helpful !!!! Thank you. I want to make this top and read through the instructions and was really confused when trying to figure out the back facing. Your instructions are helping me a lot!!!
thank you for this tutorial. I made the top and love it!!! i just added elastic to the bottom part of the sleeves so i can adjust it whenever i want :)
Just found your channel! Love your video style ,so soothing! I actually have plans to sew this pattern this weekend and your video was really helpful. I'm a fellow Canadian sewist from Toronto, look forward to more of you videos. Thank you !
How did you find the sizing? Many of the reviews say it runs large based on the finished measurements. Did you size down, and if you didn't would you recommend sizing down? Thank you !
Mine is a Size 2 and I think it fits. Make sure you trim down the underseams of sleeves and the armholes in case you are serging instead of French seams. That will make a better fit. 👍
Thank you so much for this video. I am following along to make my own version, so your video is incredibly helpful. You are adorable! I do have some questions that were not clear to me from your video or the pattern's instructions. What is an "underseam"? At 14:52, you mention trimming 1/4" of the "" and armholes for better results. Also, I had trouble understanding the attachment of the facing and neckline. It was hard for me to understand the neck facing attachment in your video because the front and the back of the fabric are so similar, so it was not completely clear to me. As a result, my neckline is imperfect, and I am not sure how to do better next time. In your next video, could you please use a fabric with a clear difference between the back and the front of the fabric and slow down during the complicated parts? I look forward to seeing your version of this without the French seams. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! I am now a loyal subscriber!
Thanks for watching my video and becoming my subscriber, Carol! Haha I don't know where the word "underseam" from, but I was meaning UNDERARM SEAM on sleeves. As we are not doing French Seams for those parts, we don't need extra 1/4". Sorry if my fabric choice made you confused! I will try to make future tutorials with better choice of fabrics! : )
Hi Sara. I'm so happy to find your tutorial. I have just downloaded the pattern and I am excited to start but I really hate doing French seams. So, I am wondering if you have released the easier sewing version of this top. Please let me know. Thank again.
You could do it, I'm sure. I didn't use the French seams on my first attempt and the only think that wasn't right was the size! If you baste all the required places, you'll be able to do a double turnover edge without it warping. I just serged all of my raw edging and turned it over once, but although looks OK, I feel it would be better doubled, but then it was my first try!
Thank you for watching my video! Actually the only difference between flat felled seams and French seams is the final stitch which shows from outside. If I have to confirm it, I'd better to call the method 'Flat Felled Seams'. Thanks for pointing it out! 😊
Hi , Great tutorial. Thank you. I just started making this pattern and wondered if there is any reason that I can't put the sleeves in first and then sew the sleeve and side seam at the same time. I just prefer this method but wondered if there was a reason to do the way you did in the tutorial?
Hi 👋 I also prefer sewing the underarm seam and side seam together at the end. I was just following the original instructions as I assume many of subscribers wanted that way! Also, in case the pattern has a deep rounded armscye, this method from the original instructions makes the sleeves lay naturally!
Lovely tutorial! One question though.. what do you mean by 'right sides together'? Is it the inside out or like right or left? I am not sure I understand :)
Hi, the first term in sewing you should learn is the 'right side' and the 'wrong side'. The right side of the fabric is the "printed" or "pretty" surface of the fabric and the opposite is the wrong side. 😊

New subscriber 😃 🇨🇦, introduced to your videos by And Sew On!
Thank you for subscribing my channel!🥰
Beautiful tutorial. Great to see how you sewed the sleeves. Thank you for sharing x
Thanks for watching! :) I didn't want all the french seams on the sleeves since I chose not the lightest fabric.
@@SewingTherapy good idea, I've used a standard cotton so I'll definitely be doing the same xx
Lovely! Just subscribed! This is what I was looking for!
Glad to hear you found what you were looking for! Let's make a sewing journey fun!

It was also very helpful to have the subtitles--it always helps me to both read and see instructions.

I haven't had chance to make a version without all the French seams yet! It's still on my list though!😅
@@SewingTherapy 😉I guess I have to be brave and try French seaming. I will listen and follow your instructions carefully. Thanks for replying Sara. 😀
@@Yannickaqil I don't enjoy French seam method much either yet it's worthy to see the result!👍

Thank you very much! I am happy that you liked it a lot! :)
Right sides together... wrong sides together... very helpful to know. But first, identify the right side of each pattern pieces. ☺️
Did you use flat fellled seams or french seams please? I really enjoyed your video so much, great quality and content. Perfect fabric and fit as well.

@@SewingTherapy Thanks for the reply - I went ahead and did it my preferred way and it worked fine. Love your tutorials and have subscribed.
You are so warm and beautiful🥰
Aww thank you so much, Mylen!💗
Thank you soooo much
Thanks for watching! ☺️
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! Very helpful for a beginner like me! What should we do if we don’t have a serger? Thanks!
Here's a link for you! It's about how to serge without a serger.

Thanks!!
Thank you for your video! What kind of fabric did you use? I find as a beginner I always have a hard time finding the right kind of nice fabric.
I used cotton linen blend from my shop! (Link in the description) I still find choosing fabric for projects difficult yet most exciting!
Ur new subscriber is herr ❤💛

What was the size you cut out? Thank you!
I don’t remember the size I chose but I normally follow the size chart of the pattern! ☺️
Can I give 100 likes? Thanks so much for the tutorial. Going to cut fabric for this pattern today
Awww thank you! ❤ Hope your Top turns out beautifully!
Does this pattern include the seam allowances?
Yes it does!
A classic hem should be at the very least one inch. If possible, one & a half inch. 🤓
