- A quick trip to the scrap bin today with some great results . I don't really know what it was that I found maybe a server or something but either way it had a fair bit of meltable metal in it. 16 new bars to add to the stack today and another step closer to the goal. HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

I don't think that this device is a server, since those are usually filled with way more electronics, but rather the control unit of a large UPS (uninterruptable power supply) or it is a big power supply.

Well he passed a ton. Once he hits a metric ton, then he should go for a long ton. A tonne proper. Yeah, I know that's a British measure, but it IS the largest type of ton. (I believe tonne was the spelling of the long ton.... at least, it was. I think.)
Besides, it's only forty more pounds!
And then he should calculate how Troy Ounces he has!
Does anyone know what will happen when he'll reach 1 tonne?
After all this time, I have to say my favorite subplot of this show is the 10mm socket saga. Would love to see more of this.

Just a tip.
Hang some little cilinder neodimium magnets around the shop in little pairs of 4 , you would be amazed at how convenient they are for 10mm sockets or pliers 😊
I used a steel L profile, drilled 2 holes to hang them from my rafters.
Its a little shed 😂

Cheers again buddy, actually it won’t be next week could be the week after or even three weeks away, I want to get to 999 kg just to be a prick and then smash through it The week after that although I was thinking about doing a 900 gram melt so everyone will think it’s the week after 999 but then it’ll be 999.9 just to be a bastard , so I’m thinking two or three weeks away depending on how long this actually takes to break down pull apart and melt. I’m really hoping for 30 kg of copper out of this and after popping one end off I think that’s possible🤞🏻

А ведь в этих платах есть такие ДРАГОЦЕННЫЕ МЕТАЛЛЫ, как СЕРЕБРО, ЗОЛОТО, ПЛАТИНА и ПАЛЛАДИЙ. Я знаю много людей, которые занимаются добычей этих металлов из радиоэлектронной аппаратуры и электронных плат. Вы не задумывались откладывать и собирать подобные платы, чтобы потом попробовать извлечь эти МЕТАЛЛЫ??? Поверьте, это будет и для вас самого очень интересный опыт. Да и видео можно будет заснять интересное для вашего канала. 🤗👍

Sreetips has great videos on precious metals refining and if I remember correctly he did one on circuit boards. It's awesome that your this close to your goal, can't wait to see it.
Sreetips's video is on trimmed circuit fingers, which contain only gold and no other metals whatsoever. BigstackD's circuit boards contain a variety of metals of various values, which is why ewaste is so very hard to recover.
