I'm an online reseller and have a booth at an antique mall and I've made hundreds $ at this point from items that I've sourced from our local landfill. I learned last year how much people throw out so many good things! I go at least twice a week and while I don't always find something, it's always a joy when I do! All the things I find are, 1) items that people have set off to the side because they're done with them, but they're still in decent enough condition so someone may want them, or 2) from the metal/electronics recycling section. While it may not be glamorous, between the absolute pure profit that it brings and saving things from going to the landfill, it's quite an enjoyable venture 😁
Just curious how you "save" things from the dump? Our city dump wont let us take a piece of scrap paper away. I'm serious, it could be a hundred dollar bill laying there and if you put it in your pocket you get charged with stealing. Or my yard WOULD be a junk yard. Cant tell you the treasures ive seen at the dump and the scrap yard.😢
"Start the car, start the car!", LOL, that is my favorite saying now. I love looking at roadside trash to see if there is something waiting to come out. I can see why you snagged that rocker. It is stunning.
And they definitely were incredible!. Anyone can see how much you love your work by the end products. The rocking chair was a gem of a piece, just beautiful.
The four pane window was my favorite project in this video but you have so many incredible ideas! It's always so easy to follow your instructions and I love your focus on upcycling.
Girl, I want to go dump shopping with you! You find the coolest treasures. God has blessed you with a DIY spirit. Besides seeing the beautiful items you create I enjoy the basic supplies you use. There are so many things at the craft shops our $$ can leave our pockets fast. But you create very unique treasures with basic supplies.
Deidra, you are incredibly creative with an outstanding artistic eye. I can’t make up my mind which project I liked best but that rocking chair was a terrific find and I would never have thought to take a rusty crusty broken scale and include it an beautifully warm vignette. Wow. Just wow!
I love putting found objects in the garden and flower beds. You have lots of lovely ideas. You're so lucky to get things at the dump. Our landfill/dump doesn't allow you to take anything.
Oh my gosh, Love the bird seed feeder! There are so many ideas for bird feeders. I've used a lamp, removed shade and electric. Thrifted a large shallow bowl and used e6000 to glue it to the lamp stand. Makes a beautiful bird bath!
Hi, this is the first time I watch your channel. I love, love, love every piece you turned from T. to T. I'm glad you did not see the owl. I would've bought it. You are very talented. You have a new subscriber. : )
These are wonderful! Thank you once again firkeeping unwanted items out of the landfill. My favorite is the candle holder turned bird feeder. Brilliant! 😁
I loved watching all your amazing videos in 2022!! You have a real talent turning unwanted trash into beautiful keepsakes❣️. Thanks for all your hard work in creating such great videos, can’t wait for 2023 projects 👍
You make jealous with your trash finds. We can’t get wood pieces. I use to be able to get wine bottles but then that was stopped ( decorated them and sold them).
💚 💚 💚 💚 💚 love the upcycling inspiration whilst looking after our Mother Earth. Beautiful concepts. Enjoying your videos, thank you for sharing! Who knew the hairspray crackle technique? Not me...😊 😁
You are amazing. I've never thought about recycling stuff but you have given me reason to want to. I absolutely love your channel. Thank you for all you do.
the morning i found this posted, i didn't have a lot of time before i needed to get off the computer and start working, so i tried hurrying through the video. that just would not do! so i am back on saturday morning, watching your video at normal speed and really enjoying it immensely! thank you for this 2022 anthology!
Good Wednesday morning Deidra. What a haul - so many treasures to choose from. Thanks for sharing. Absolutely incredible. It's amazing all the projects you can create with all that stuff. Thanks so much for all you do keeping all that junk out of the wastestream and thereby through your efforts, helping to protect our precious sustainable resources. And of course Happy 2023!! 😊
Happy New Years Deidra, I absolutely love your dump find upcycles. I wish we had dumps here in PA like you have. What you see when you look at cast of pieces just amaze me. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. God Bless you
I hope you were able to enjoy the holiday season and get in quality time with your family. I really enjoy the projects and techniques you share with us. I'm really itching for some new inspiration. I can't wait to see the new stuff you have in store for us this year.
I love all your up-cycled pieces, you have such an amazing imagination. Some people see trash you see treasure. I once up-cycled some vintage file drawers, was first time and I found it so rewarding. My health is not good enough anymore to do any up cycling (cutting wood, sanding and or using power tools). but still found you inspiring. 😊✨
This was a great copulation of all your upcycling from 2022 Deidre!! I love everything you have made and wish I could find stuff like you find at your dump!! Tfs all your work and I can't wait to see what you make in 2023!!💚💜💚💜
How lucky you were to come across some great finds! I’m unable to be out and about bc I’m a hospice patient and need to be on oxygen 24/7. Still can be creative but now I have to ask for help. Having a good man also helps so much - he’s got a steep learning curve ahead in crafting. 😉✌🏻
Well Deidre all l can say is “what a fantastic enjoyable montage of your favourite finds”, l can’t pick a favourite because l just love everything you’ve created, you are a very talented inspirational lady and here’s to another amazing year of wonderful upcycling videos, happy 2023, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
They are all brilliant, hard to say which is the best, loved the rocking chair and the bird house my favourite is the bed side cabinet like a shipping container
These makeovers are astonishing. Your work surface at 19:21 has a very interesting graphic look. At first I thought it was some art you were framing with the chair back.
Oh my goodness, I lost my beloved aunt 2 years ago & she always had one of those old rocking chairs in her room (it mostly held junk lol). I asked if I could have it bc she just always had it but bc at one time it was on her front porch it’s sooooo dried out. I had no clue how to fix it. So THANK YOU so much for sharing this ♥️♥️
I had so much fun learning techniques I’ve never seen before. That wood box turned into a table/cabinet is spectacular! I’ve found your graphics on Etsy (which are awesome) - but you mentioned selling the large chair-back sign, and I’m wondering where your finished pieces can be purchased? So glad I found your channel today!
Most incredible is absolutely right Deidre, everything turned out absolutely amazing. You have inspired me from the very beginning. Thank you so much. God bless.
Very jealous of your dump finds!! I've been covering for our landfill attendant for the last month but I haven't seen anything salvageable so far. You're very talented, thanks for sharing these with us!!
You have inspired me over and over in this video! Loved your makeover projects and giving love to old dump finds. I wish I lived in an area like yours! I'm your new subscriber.

It's amazing how you take something old and beat up, and turn it into something beautiful. I love upcycling.

You make jealous with your trash finds. We can’t get wood pieces. I use to be able to get wine bottles but then that was stopped ( decorated them and sold them).
You could buy non alcoholic sparkling grape juice bottles to decorate.
Try going to the local bars and ask them for their empty bottles
Customers,would bring their bottles to me,ask a cashier,love the frosted ones👍
Dorothy says 👍
Just ask your friends to save their bottles for you.
