Fair warning don't ever buy ecs tuning branded shock mounts. I had a bilstein/h&r SS cup kit installed on my mk5 gti barely over a year ago. Not even 3 months after there was so much play from the cheaply made rear shock mounts the suspension rattled over bumps (this was installed by a professional shop). For the life of me couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from and it took me several months to finally figure it out. Recently had the mounts replaced with OE spec Lemfoerder mounts. Don't ever cheap out with the "assembled by ecs tuning" junk.

Tune (biggest difference over any mod youd really ever do again). I personally opted for EQT for their smooth delivery of power, but you can’t go wrong with APR or IE. Do your research and pick your poison. This includes your TCU tune for any DSG owners. turbo inlet pipe, this is really what clogs things up, you could get an AFE Filter and one of these and easily out flow all of these 400 dollar intakes. So unless you got a good deal on an intake keep that in mind. Also for you APR fans I’m sorry to tell you their intake is the worst flowing one of them all. Downpipe, such a huge difference in terms of sound. I opted for a high flow cat to save me some of the drone. But this mod will make your car much louder plus allow you to go to stage 2. Do88 Intercooler, the stock Intercooler is very restrictive even for stock power numbers. If you’re looking to do canyon runs or track this car. You will see a huge improvement, as the stock Intercooler heat soaks very quickly. (It’s quite thin, if you’ve never seen the difference in size alone you’ll be amazed when you look it up). Sway Bar, the turn in on these cars isn’t all that great. But for all of you backroad carving maniacs, can have this problem solved and you won’t have to spend an arm and a leg. Bonus tips, An intake will be the easiest thing you ever install. If you are bringing your brakes to get done make sure they know what they are doing. I got my car from a bmw dealership… who didn’t tell me they snapped the rotor set screw off in the assembly, or stripped the other one out so bad you’ll have to use an angle grinder to get it off. Also VW loves their single use bolts so everytime you do your brakes, change a steering wheel, or anything else really you’re gonna need all new bolts. Take your engine cover off and check for any snapped clips. The bmw dealer snapped the clips holding the coil packs on so you can’t get them off without special tools. No your colored coil packs do not give you more power. (tHeY gIvE 20 pErCeNt MoRe SpArK eNeRgY). Also look behind the engine at the valve cover seals, they use RTV as a gasket so odds are it’s leaking (also if it is check your cylinder 4 spark plug, it’s probably got oil on it). Don’t ask me how I know all of this.

What is your overall impression of the racing line BBK, I have a 2022 8Y S3, thinking of getting the 6 piston 380mm RL kit, I tried emailing racing line many times to no avail which makes me uncomfortable spending 4k USD. Any cons overall? Replacement pads and rotors easily findable? pedal feel? fade? any difference in emergency braking?
If you don't have so high income... I would start the upgrade in this order First Suspension, then wheels and tires, then Induction, then exhaust and then ECU. Then you can use it on track and get to know the car as you upgrade. I don't know you have car slalom in UK. In america they call it "auto cross".. Upgrade it and use it on track/race it. Upgrade it a little at time and then you will know your car better.
Hello, I'm close by to you guys, I have a 2015 Manual R, 25mm H&R Springs, R600 intake, Turbo Elbow, Intake Hose, Res delete. What would my current options be? Recently had new clutch and DMF although I don't think it's an uprated one. Thanks
With a stage 1 tune, anything that is upgraded over stock is better. We have many different set ups for different uses so it's really more of a preference for the customer.
I see I'm a bit late to the party here, but a quick question... If you do the ecu mod on a manual, do you need to upgrade the clutch? Thanks, keep making your great informational vids.
Highly recommended to do it right away! I’ve seen people go a couple hundred miles on a stock clutch after a tune and I’ve seen people only go a couple before it fails. A must have for sure.
I have a 2016 TTS and it already has a stage 1 tune plus a K&N filter. I really don’t want the car to be noisier. I’m thinking PikeyR600, turbo elbow and intake pipe next. Does the turbo muffler actually restrict flow/power? Thanks
@@liamkirton6616 You can get a resonated system which will give you a better tone but no drone inside the cabin. Milltek and Scorpion both offer some good solutions for the 7R
Come on guy's the first thing to do is secure your asset, get a alarm and tracker. What's the point throwing cash at the your motor for any pleb with an ipad nick your car. Then an uprated turbo elbow, hose and induction kit. Then a stage one remap followed by lowering springs, bigger rear anti roll bar then better brake pads. IF your going stage two, Intercooler full exhaust and downpipe and finally if you plan to do track days you gonna need better disc, calipers and pad setup IMHO.
My 1st mod on my GTE is the Forge induction system, then a set of Eibach springs, APR. 6 pot brake calipers with discs. Trying to find a good exhaust system. Also ICE and Electric motor stage 1 tune.
My first mod on my mk7 r was stage 3 then AP 6 pots with 2 piece discs. Rear anti roll bar. Vagbretecnic rear discs, miltek cat back .#Ecotune🚀. Nice video that ,I’d love the kwv3 with dcc but ££££££ 😔
So you said your top 5 “performance” mods, and then listed intake, wheels and exhaust, three of which do nothing for performance. Downpipe does, but a catback does not.
Correction, what we meant were 5 mods just in general. Yes wheels don't do much for performance but an exhaust and intake can help the car breathe much better
@@awesomecars1 that makes more sense. Still, you do need a downpipe if you’re tuning your car, so that should be on the list, maybe combined with the tune. My list is different, as I’m Kit one to buy things unless they do something more than just sound and meetup bragging rights, but to each their own. Nice vid though.
A message back from awesome regarding an apr mod would have been nice, but dont get back to you. Sent a few messages, ignored each time. Used apr for years too with various maps 👎
You can indeed, its paul browne my name is, audi rs7, regarding apr map, message sent to mark ash. 3rd march at 16.01pm, then again on 16th march 13.13pm, both ignored, but read.
You lost me immediately…. That air intake is a waste. That return on investment is minimal. The tune, rear sway bar, better pads and tires…. Maybe an intercooler… Wheels and the air intake are unnecessary. I wouldn’t be interested in that brake kit if I was looking for a legit BBK.
So you went straight into mod #1. An induction kit? After all testing by real world users (see forums) that a closed induction kit does nothing in terms of power over the stock air box, and an open induction kit takes power away over the stock air box… Literally a drop in $40 K&N filter and some minor changes to the stock air box is all you need. What a waste of money and a scam of an opening into your video.
We've tested otherwise, upgraded induction kits have performed better than stock just our recent video shows a gain of over 50 Horsepower on an upgraded intake.
@@awesomecars1 I would like to see those numbers, because there have been many on the forums who have tested, and the flow in the OEM box works best with an upgraded filter
Have a watch kf our latest video on our RS6 C8, there's also numerous cars we have tuned making better numbers due to upgraded induction kits. We're not saying they all work but quality ones certainly do.
Oh okay, yes of course every car is different. But in general we have seen better numbers on cars with intakes intakes upgraded than over stock. Not all intakes will give you the same result but most of the time you get a few extra bhp
Thhhhhhhree vs Ffffffffee. Who invented English? My vote enjoy car as is. After spending a small fortune maybe a car wash ;) Money no object all listed and a tint.

Same apply to golf GTi mk 7 already had stage 1
Hello, I'm close by to you guys, I have a 2015 Manual R, 25mm H&R Springs, R600 intake, Turbo Elbow, Intake Hose, Res delete. What would my current options be? Recently had new clutch and DMF although I don't think it's an uprated one. Thanks
Which disks and pads do you recommend for just a stage 1+ tune?
With a stage 1 tune, anything that is upgraded over stock is better. We have many different set ups for different uses so it's really more of a preference for the customer.
@@awesomecars1 I'm dailying a 2014 s3 8v with 393 hp. So for daily use?
I see I'm a bit late to the party here, but a quick question... If you do the ecu mod on a manual, do you need to upgrade the clutch? Thanks, keep making your great informational vids.
Highly recommended to do it right away! I’ve seen people go a couple hundred miles on a stock clutch after a tune and I’ve seen people only go a couple before it fails. A must have for sure.
The stock clutch is marginal, even for a GTI.
Mine failed at around 45,000 miles (before I even went stage 1).
1. Suspension
2. Upgraded Air Filter
3.Stage 1 map
4. Res Delete
5. Ceramic Coat and PPF
Nice!
Awesome video! Can you do a similar video for the SQ2??
Possibly! We already have a video if you look through our vids we did one on the SQ2 modified.
My first favorite mods ? Get a 7r first 😏
Dream big 😀
My top five are ecu tune, stage 3 clutch, turboback exhaust intercooler, and coilovers preferably bilstein.
I have a 2016 TTS and it already has a stage 1 tune plus a K&N filter.
I really don’t want the car to be noisier.
I’m thinking PikeyR600, turbo elbow and intake pipe next.
Does the turbo muffler actually restrict flow/power?
Thanks
Would say get a proper R600 :) a turbo muffler in practice won't make any difference to the power or flow just the sound
Great video bud my top 6 tyres induction kit dump valve exuast map coilovers 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fair enough! some great mods!
You mentioned stage 2 or 3 on the 7.5 opf. Would you remove this to achieve this..?
You don't need to but the power won't be the same as opf removed.
@@awesomecars1 take it you can map the light on the dash out.
Yep, this would require a custom calibration.
Main mods:
APR Stg2
APR DSG
UM Haldex Tune
R600 Intake/ Pipe/ Elbow
CTS Turbo Downpipe
RacingLine Big Brakes
Eibach Springs
K&N Spacers
Whiteline Rear Swaybar
F&R Strut Braces
P3 Gauge
Steering Wheel
Michelin PS4S
Stainless Footrest
IOPEDAL Throttle Response
You guys really need to pick up a couple Rode lav mics. The video itself is fine, but the audio is really holding you back.
Does the trubo elbow make much difference at stage 1?
We've found that it makes a few extra bhp and more coupled with the intake
Is there a need to upgrade clutch when going stage to on a manual mk7 or can I get away without it
It's good to, as even with stock cars after some time and higher mileage the stock clutch can start to slip
Would love this on an S3
What Exhaust would you recommend?
We have a variety of Exhausts on offer for this, it depends on what sort of sound you are looking for?
@@awesomecars1 Want something loud but not stupid loud.
@@liamkirton6616 You can get a resonated system which will give you a better tone but no drone inside the cabin. Milltek and Scorpion both offer some good solutions for the 7R
Would a Non resonated, Milltek/Scorpin be loud?
@@liamkirton6616 A non res is louder yes but it's always a choice from the customer.
Ecu & tcu
Downpipe & catback
Intake (eventuri)
Brakes (EBC disks and pads)
Tires ps4
Come on guy's the first thing to do is secure your asset, get a alarm and tracker. What's the point throwing cash at the your motor for any pleb with an ipad nick your car. Then an uprated turbo elbow, hose and induction kit. Then a stage one remap followed by lowering springs, bigger rear anti roll bar then better brake pads. IF your going stage two, Intercooler full exhaust and downpipe and finally if you plan to do track days you gonna need better disc, calipers and pad setup IMHO.
Not everyone will feel the need for an alarm, although a no Brainer
1st...Revo Stage 1 😁
okay :)
My 1st mod on my GTE is the Forge induction system, then a set of Eibach springs, APR. 6 pot brake calipers with discs. Trying to find a good exhaust system. Also ICE and Electric motor stage 1 tune.
I'm sure electric tunes will be available soon enough
Probably wheels and tyres then air intake, exhaust, rcu tune, weight reduction, I try not to use the brakes lol
haha Big power big stoppage!
I'm buying a r as my first car and I'm going stage 1 and cold air intake and then I'll be done
Still some good mods, a stage 1 and air intake will change it completely for you to drive.
dogbone mount, rear anti-sway bar
My first mod on my mk7 r was stage 3 then AP 6 pots with 2 piece discs. Rear anti roll bar. Vagbretecnic rear discs, miltek cat back .#Ecotune🚀.
Nice video that ,I’d love the kwv3 with dcc but ££££££ 😔
Very nice!
And the manufacturer warranty is gone.
I would keep mine stocked as its been designed and engineered for what it is .
What exhaust company would you recommend?
We have a host of different brands, it depends on what you're looking for
if i had the money for all mentioned mods, i would get another car 😛
Number 6 mod is to grab a proper happening fresh trim from your number 1 barber
1. wheels and tires
Can we have a top 5 RS3 mods guys, even though I might have already done them 🤦♂️
Coming soon!!
Tune, Tyres, Downpipe.
The tuning or modification game is subjective, everyone has their own tastes and preferences and we have to respect that
#1 should be a stage 1(+) tune.
It's up there for sure!
300bhp on British roads is more than enough for me. Saving for security myself
Another cheap mod that i dont see alot that makes a big difference is the lower dogbone mount/ insert.
For sure, we wanted to really reserve this for the FWD vehicles as they benefit from it the most.
A message back from awesome regarding an apr mod would have been nice, but dont get back to you. Sent a few messages, ignored each time. Used apr for years too with various maps 👎
Can you confirm where you sent the message so I can look into this for you?
You can indeed, its paul browne my name is, audi rs7, regarding apr map, message sent to mark ash. 3rd march at 16.01pm, then again on 16th march 13.13pm, both ignored, but read.
First, oh yes 👍
Ohhh yeahh!
2.5 5 cylinder audi engine swap...👍
You lost me immediately…. That air intake is a waste. That return on investment is minimal. The tune, rear sway bar, better pads and tires…. Maybe an intercooler…
Wheels and the air intake are unnecessary. I wouldn’t be interested in that brake kit if I was looking for a legit BBK.
Each to their own, induction kits can help the car breathe better :) if you're going more power you need better intakes
👍
Thank you!
@@awesomecars1 always good content thank you 👍
That’s a 7.5
So you went straight into mod #1. An induction kit? After all testing by real world users (see forums) that a closed induction kit does nothing in terms of power over the stock air box, and an open induction kit takes power away over the stock air box…
Literally a drop in $40 K&N filter and some minor changes to the stock air box is all you need.
@@awesomecars1 i thought we were talking about the MK7 GTI? Lol. Of course it’s different for every car.
First, buy an 8...
