I feel like I'm the only curly who doesn't wrap her hair at night. I just use a satin pillow case and move my hair out of the way so I'm not sleeping on it. I'm a light sleeper who doesn't move a lot at night. I wake up with perfect curls (looking bomb thanks to Mell). I only start refreshing on day 3 or so, when I get some freeze or lose definition.
You are a rare majestic unicorn that sleeps perfectly! I’m so glad that works for you! A satin pillowcase is always handy (even if you cover your hair in case it falls off) 💖💖
yeah that's awesome. When my hair was down to my waist I could do that but I cut it short and can't "move it out of the way" to stay out of the way yet smh lol :)

I'm a wavy (mostly 2b), but I don't wrap or bonnet my head either. I'm also a light sleeper and I just carefully position my hair out of the way too! I don't even use a satin pillowcase. I tried it but I don't like the feel of it on my face (I'm a side-sleeper). Even so, I can usually get to day 3 with decent hair as well! You know, as long as my wash day was a success 😅

I have heavy hair, it has always been beautifully curly when my hair was short but as it got past my shoulders it lost most definition. I have been growing my hair out for 3 years and was ready to chop it to get my curls back. Then I found you about two weeks ago, watched many many (maybe an embarrassing amount) of your videos in a short period of time and for the first time ever my hair is long and curly!
My daughter and I have the same issue...my hair is maybe about 5 cm in length now and it's crazy curly but my daughter's hair is long and heavy so her curls are weighted down...i guess I too will watch an insane amount of her videos since it helped you so much 😊

this brand sounds like the brand I've been searching for for the last 4 years. I had previously given up on typical styling and I have been doing the bare minimum for my hair for at least the last year. Hi Mel - I’ve been stalking your channel for months. I was using Deva Curl products when I started getting handfuls of hair falling out. I started searching for info and edjumacating myself. The clouds parted and the hair angels started singing when I found Manes by Mel. I have spent hours watching and molto soldi on good curly products since then. I’ve also made some dufus blunders like sleeping with my hair plastered with mashed avocado, honey, olive oil and coconut oil. I now know not to ever do THAT again. Thank you for sharing your curly hairs wisdom.

I've tried bonnets and scarves and I can use them for a couple of days in a row...but then I find them too hot and my scalp gets REALLY itchy (not itchy during the day so I don't think its buildup or needing to wash) I use a silk pillowcase and refresh- your steam trick is amazing!❤

But seriously. Steam and finger coiling have been the top 2 game changers for me by a huge margin. I live is a dry af climate and they have taken my hair from “Oh the top is wavy but a few good curl on the bottom.” To 3B/3C all through-out. And I have super fine hair, so no matter what I do it gets stringy and flat, even in my bonnet and the steam just plumps it back up.
I use a clothes steamer though. It’s what I had!! Same price, stand way further away.

I think I wasn't clear actually... I have no problem on getting products in Europe, I always buy online (in EU territory).... but just a few brands from UE, like eva nyc or verb for example are impossible to find here...

I am on day 50 of my curly girl journey. I am still experiencing frizz galore on the crown. Since frizz has so many causes, I would just like to remove one cause from my list: glycerin. I would LOVE more suggestions/comparisons of glycerin free products, especially less expensive products please! Thank you for your videos.
