I feel like I'm the only curly who doesn't wrap her hair at night. I just use a satin pillow case and move my hair out of the way so I'm not sleeping on it. I'm a light sleeper who doesn't move a lot at night. I wake up with perfect curls (looking bomb thanks to Mell). I only start refreshing on day 3 or so, when I get some freeze or lose definition.
You are a rare majestic unicorn that sleeps perfectly! I’m so glad that works for you! A satin pillowcase is always handy (even if you cover your hair in case it falls off) 💖💖

I tried it but I don't like the feel of it on my face (I'm a side-sleeper). Even so, I can usually get to day 3 with decent hair as well! You know, as long as my wash day was a success 😅

I have been growing my hair out for 3 years and was ready to chop it to get my curls back. Then I found you about two weeks ago, watched many many (maybe an embarrassing amount) of your videos in a short period of time and for the first time ever my hair is long and curly!

And I have super fine hair, so no matter what I do it gets stringy and flat, even in my bonnet and the steam just plumps it back up. I use a clothes steamer though. It’s what I had!! Appreciate you mell! The day I style and hair lookin good, I hate to sleep for fear of ruining it. BUT! Wearing the bonnet and all uve suggested, makes the next day (still) a good hair day! I never would have known! Years ago when I would wear my hair natural, I washed and re-did EVERY DANG DAY 😳 I never knew I didn’t have to.
I've tried bonnets and scarves and I can use them for a couple of days in a row...but then I find them too hot and my scalp gets REALLY itchy (not itchy during the day so I don't think its buildup or needing to wash) I use a silk pillowcase and refresh- your steam trick is amazing!❤

I am on day 50 of my curly girl journey. I am still experiencing frizz galore on the crown. Since frizz has so many causes, I would just like to remove one cause from my list: glycerin. I would LOVE more suggestions/comparisons of glycerin free products, especially less expensive products please! Thank you for your videos. You are one of my favorites because your videos are informative AND entertaining.
I hate showering in the morning. I prefer to shower at night but I have wavy hair and my hair never survives through the night. The only thing that has helped preserve my waves are applying my products and then sleeping in a braid. Forget about day 2 or 3 hair. My hair is stringy after that and I pretty much throw it up in a bun those days. The struggle is real! Haha
Hey Mel! I’ve been learning so much by you on how to style curly hair! I’m a new hairstylist! My mom has curly hair so I’ve been helping her get her curls defined and beautiful! It’s dry and on the thinner side so I’ve been helping her get the best possible results so she can have healthy beautiful curly hair! If you can make a video on some cruelty free options for dry curly hair that would be awesome! I would to see more cruelty free options 😄 love your videos! You do a great job at explaining everything! Have a wonderful day 💖
Thank you for 12:21 I appreciate the helping hand for us crazy sleepers that no matter what we do everything falls off. I need Fort Knox for my hair going to try that out tonight
I’m so glad I won your IG contest for EVA NYC curly hair products. These products are beyond PHENOMENAL and I will never use anything else. Plus I’m totally addicted to the smell. My curly hair has never looked better. I did purchase both of their new products about a month ago. They are really great. I just wish they had the same smell as the “Mane Magic” line. They work great, especially on 2nd or 3rd day hair. Keep up the great work Mell. I just love you and Amanda’s (your Seester) posts and videos. My long curly hair looked like crap until I stumbled upon your videos and.....EVA NYC ❤️
O M G - Mind Blown!! I have had that exact same facial steamer for months and I NEVER thought to use it on my hair!!! I can't wait to try this. Thank you!
Thank you a lot!!! I've been doing this for months since I saw this video and it really got better! Also, your hair Is literally like mine (same curl shap, haircut/hairstyle and length) except I'm ginger and my hair Is a bit more voluminous so this routine Is perfect for me.
im still working on finding the right combination of product and routine, but the one thing I have found that works great firstling in the morning is when I remove whatever head covering ive slept in, is to leave it an hour before I touch it. I don't fluff it or touch it, I just let it do its thing while im having breakfast and stretching. I've found it needs way less effort once my curls have woken up a bit.
OMG I just found you yesterday and I've already watched at least a dozen videos! I just bought a bunch of products from Eva NYC. I've had naturally wavy/curly hair most of my life and have really never known what to do with it. And can't do the CGM because my hair is wayyy too thin for that. Thanks for doing what you do!!!
Please help Me Mell! 😞 I love my curls when I brush them dry. It looks fluffy and better but I am not sure if it is healthy. Can I do it every day if I like it?
I needed this video😩 I’m going back thru all your videos for wedding day inspiration lol I’m doing my own wedding day curls and looking for a style to try out😊
Do you have videos showing your makeup choices and especially your NAIL tips and tricks?? (your nails are GORGEOUS!) Just found you and your personality is the cutest! So sweet and sassy! Would love to see various content from you!
I doubted you. I am sorry for that. I tried the steamer on my hair this morning and YOU ARE RIGHT!! I kept repeating holy h$#l she’s right. Love it Thank you!
That’s one of the reasons I love this brand, the products are affordable and they work really well when used correctly! This routine start to finish is fool-proof for my hair type and hair needs😍❤️❤️
Manes by Mell Do you have suggestions for a good hairspray? I can’t ever get my hair to stay put, so I touch it too much trying to get it out of my face and adjust it so it looks how I like it. It’s exhausting and my hair won’t last more than a day lately. Please help! 🙏🏽
Needed this. Don't have the time for washing and styling in the morning - have to get 3 kids under 5 ready - no me time available and I'm a bad morning person without coffee.
Hi Mell. Thank you for the tips, especially how to tie the scarf and products to use on a loose curl pattern. I’m in Australia and unfortunately a lot of these amazing products aren’t available here. Not even on Amazon. Would you ever consider trying products from other countries? Loving your bubbly videos. Always fun and informative x
Super excited to try the new curl cream and spray! I've been a Ouidad curly-girl for years- but it's just so expensive and I feel like my curls were missing something. Love learning from you!
I love Eva nyc products I have the salt shampoo, the mask, the soften conditioner, the soften up shampoo and the curl products I buy all large sizes and or doubles! They’re so cheap and good their conditioner is the best I’ve ever tried
Dehydrated sounds like it needs hydration!! Note that hydration starts from within, make sure you drink lots of water and rehydrate as needed. Dehydrated hair can become very brittle and fragile so to boost elasticity, deep condition with moisturizing products and layer products in the PSF order to get maximum moisture while sealing it in! You got this! 💖💖
This is exactly the video that I needed! After your last video I actually was looking for how to do my hair at night because I was just too tired. And I didn't find anything that walked you through it. Your video was perfect!!! And now to go out and get some Eva NYC products!!! Thanks Mell!!!
Just bleached my hair and in need of a new hair regimen. Going to search for these products at my nearby Sally’s store tomorrow, can’t wait to try this routine out!!
The problem with orders out of Europe is that we have to pay extra taxes when package arrive... and it's kind of annoying, because at the end it becomes really expensive... 😕 I think I wasn't clear actually... I have no problem on getting products in Europe, I always buy online (in EU territory).... but just a few brands from UE, like eva nyc or verb for example are impossible to find here...
11:49 thank you for this! I have a really hard time with bonnets but it’s super hard for me to use a silk scarf because I never feel like I know how to tie it this looks easy enough for me!
I hope all the hair products she recommended are good. I happened to have been in a spot where I needed new products. My hair is not as tight of a curl, but I do have curl. I ordered almost all of the products she has used here. I hope that the mask doesn’t need too be left in the entire 5 minutes, how bout 2 minutes
I got the notification for this video just as I was walking out from my hair salon. I really wish I could have had someone like Mell cut my hair because this guy didn’t really do that great.
Your hair looks amazing, Mell! 😍 Would you recommend the Eva NYC products and steaming refresh for tighter, kinkier curls? It would be AMAZING if you did a video focused on tighter curls and coils, like 3c, 4a-c! 😉

I do it too and my hair is healthy. Idk why my hair just likes it 🙈.
If you brush it gently and don’t rip your hair then I don’t see a problem
You can try to brush your hair dry and then pour water over your hair to see how it works for you.
Going to give this a try. My hair takes forever to style, dry, etc. Thanks Mel. Appreciate your content so much.
ok but that steamer method for refreshing is genius
I needed this video😩 I’m going back thru all your videos for wedding day inspiration lol I’m doing my own wedding day curls and looking for a style to try out😊
Do you have videos showing your makeup choices and especially your NAIL tips and tricks?? (your nails are GORGEOUS!) Just found you and your personality is the cutest! So sweet and sassy! Would love to see various content from you!
You are my favourite curly girl Mel. I've learned sooooo much about looking after my curls. Thank you 😁
I doubted you. I am sorry for that. I tried the steamer on my hair this morning and YOU ARE RIGHT!! I kept repeating holy h$#l she’s right. Love it Thank you!
LOL SEE NEVER DOUBT ME 😝😝 so happy it’s working for you ❤️❤️
Just got my Denman brush. Where has this been my whole life?! What a game changer. Thanks, Mell.
FINALLY, sponsored and/or recommended products that are affordable! YAY!
That’s one of the reasons I love this brand, the products are affordable and they work really well when used correctly! This routine start to finish is fool-proof for my hair type and hair needs😍❤️❤️
Wait, it’s not Tuesday... but I love it!!!! Thank you, Mel! Fabulous Friday!!! 😃😄😆
😍😍 have a wonderful weekend 💕
Just bought my first hair scarf! 😁 so excited to use it tonight!!!
This was such a helpful video!! And your hair is so pretty I could cry! 😍
Mel you need to try a Curlcase! Best thing to sleep in for curls. Thanks for all the tips.
I keep coming back to this video over time, and every time I learn something new ❤️
Super excited to try the new curl cream and spray! I've been a Ouidad curly-girl for years- but it's just so expensive and I feel like my curls were missing something. Love learning from you!
I absolutely love your energy and you’ve informed me so much about my curly hair, thank you for practically saving it from damage
I love Eva nyc products I have the salt shampoo, the mask, the soften conditioner, the soften up shampoo and the curl products I buy all large sizes and or doubles! They’re so cheap and good their conditioner is the best I’ve ever tried
Hey mell dear, would you please do a video about dehydrated curly hair, that would be so amazing. Thanks💖💖💖✨✨✨
P.S. ( would you mention how to fix it and it would be super helpful if you add some DIY remedies ,cuz I’m a broke girl)😆
Manes by Mell Thank you, you really made my day by replying to my comment.😆😍💖💖💖
I don't have curly hair but I still watched your video because your hair is so beautiful 😍
This is exactly the video that I needed! After your last video I actually was looking for how to do my hair at night because I was just too tired. And I didn't find anything that walked you through it. Your video was perfect!!! And now to go out and get some Eva NYC products!!! Thanks Mell!!!
YAY it’s my first time being first. Btw love u, Amanda and ur video’s
Never mind I was early not first lol
Malek Mohamed LOL it’s okay I appreciate you being here so early 💖💖
Just bleached my hair and in need of a new hair regimen. Going to search for these products at my nearby Sally’s store tomorrow, can’t wait to try this routine out!!
Me trying to find the products in Europe in quarantine:IMPOSSIBLE
I found the hair products on-line thru the EvaNYC website. All reasonably priced. 😊
Maui moisture is a great one, they’re affordable and you can find them on amazon and in boots.
Same 😢😭
get them online. many places deliver to europe.
The problem with orders out of Europe is that we have to pay extra taxes when package arrive... and it's kind of annoying, because at the end it becomes really expensive... 😕
I think I wasn't clear actually... I have no problem on getting products in Europe, I always buy online (in EU territory).... but just a few brands from UE, like eva nyc or verb for example are impossible to find here...
11:49 thank you for this! I have a really hard time with bonnets but it’s super hard for me to use a silk scarf because I never feel like I know how to tie it this looks easy enough for me!
so i think im just gonna buy all the eva.nyc products she used omg theyre just what i need
That last clip... that’s me every morning looking in the mirror first thing.
Perfect timing! I just hoped out of the shower! I love your videos!
This routine really does it for me!
hi mell!! Ive been trying to learn how take care of my curly hair but I dont own a bonnet or headscarf, is there any thing else i can use ?
I hope all the hair products she recommended are good. I happened to have been in a spot where I needed new products. My hair is not as tight of a curl, but I do have curl. I ordered almost all of the products she has used here. I hope that the mask doesn’t need too be left in the entire 5 minutes, how bout 2 minutes
Love this video! I was so excited to try this whole line but they discontinued the mousse!
I got the notification for this video just as I was walking out from my hair salon. I really wish I could have had someone like Mell cut my hair because this guy didn’t really do that great.
I’ve always washed my curly 2c 3a curls at night but I am recently learning how to really define them and style it
Do you have any tips on how to choose the right bonnet? E.g. quality, material, etc.
I love your Channel and am learning alot! Thank you! 🌞
Your hair looks amazing, Mell! 😍 Would you recommend the Eva NYC products and steaming refresh for tighter, kinkier curls?
It would be AMAZING if you did a video focused on tighter curls and coils, like 3c, 4a-c! 😉
