    My hair is as long as hers, but much curlier and difficult to manage. The Dyson works great on my hair. I put in on the charger between sections if im using it as a cordless. It has helped improve the condition of my hair as well. She has beautiful hair! I love it.

    I love my original GHD excellent quality. Lasted forever but bought a new GHD for me mum after they moved manufacturing to Asia. It’s terrible does not heat up like my old one and cheaper plastics. Their move that reduced product quality while moving price tag up is making me looking to an alternative. Good to see Dyson investing in R&D into something new!

      I think the reason being is that its much harder to prove if your hair gets damaged or not. Dyson does have a heat temperature that goes up to 420 degrees which is pretty high for a heat setting.

      Sydney Bodenstein No, I have the Dyson dryer and do not think it’s worth the money. This isn’t worth the money, either. These are luxury/prestige items, first and foremost. I also owned a Dyson vacuum, which quickly needed extensive repairs. Sometimes you get what you pay for; sometimes you don’t. I sometimes behave irrationally and buy overpriced things, especially when depressed. This is stupid and I should not do it.

    That was a helpful review. I have been considering GHD Platinum. I am shocked to see though how big the gap between the plates is on one side! I always found that the cheap irons have those huge gaps with misaligned plates and why I avoided them. Higher end irons typically have perfectly aligned plates, I owned a few Chi's and their plates are always aligned. I am really surprised GHD being an expensive iron has such a huge gap and even more surprised to hear that it is done on purpose? Are you sure it is supposed to have such a gap? All cheap irons have gaps so I have a hard time believing it is a desired feature.

    • @herliekim
      @herliekim  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Kamila! Apprently it is. Ghd platinum + has a wishbone shaped body hence why there are gaps in between plates. However, the gaps disappear when you clamp the hair to also prevent from tugging.

    To all of you who buy into the Dyson bollocks of their hair tool causing lesser damage -- any kind of heat WILL damage your hair. You use lesser heat, you get lesser straightness or curl. You use more heat, you get more straightness and a stronger curl. I have the Dyson Airwrap and I love it because it dries my hair really quick because of the strong wind engine. In terms of it using lesser heat, no. IT IS HOT lol... I have a GHD and I think it is a clear winner in terms of straighteners.

    The Dyson straightener still needs to be fully charged even if you’re using it corded. The charge is 70 minutes. I’m returning mine. I don’t have 70 minutes to spare. It’s not that good to justify the price or 70 min wait time. The Dyson does leave it frizzy. Most likely because it loses heat because it loses the battery charge even while corded. Not ok. Took an hour to do what my cheap straightener (1/10th the cost) does in 15 minutes, primarily because the charge ran out in 10 minutes when i was done styling only 1/3rd of my hair. Plugged in to finish the rest and it refused to heat up, with the power button going off repeatedly, blinking every 5 minutes. I kept it aside to charge for 5/10/15 minutes and then re-start but faced the same issue... Resulting in an hour wasted and half-done hair. Talking to the customer care service today, i was told to use it in plugged mode for charging and not full use- who has that kind of time always? Sometimes you just want to plug and start right away! The cordless feature should be a bonus, not the primary form of use. Giving two stars because i definitely didn't get that burnt hair smell while using it and because it gave some volume to my hair, instead of making it flat like other straighteners. Major cons are the charging issues and the weight of the device ( my neck is strained since last night). It also heats up in the lower half- battery area after some time, making it uncomfortable to hold. I've asked for a replacement, hope the second one doesn't disappoint. The time taken to wait for it to charge to become usable just isn't worth it

      I agree! I was looking at their advertisement and they girl was using it inside the car for retouch. 😅 I think the cordless feature is really just meant for retouch. And i hope it works well for you. 😍❤️

    The GHD side looks better. I didn't know the Dyson had more cons than pros, I don't think I'll get it.

      Hi stacy, I was basing it on the iron I was comparing it to which only had one heat setting to get a fair comparison. :)

    The GHD side looks better. I am not getting the dyson. You pay for the brand but it is a waste. GHD is much better.

    but havent you damaged your hair already with the "time saving" ghd?

    • @herliekim

      Consistent use of any heat based appliance will gradually damage your hair over time. However, ghd are definitely one of the better hair straighteners for protecting your hair. Same goes for Dyson. ☺️
