      While our Corrale can't quite do that, it's an innovative take on what a flat iron can do. We've realized and heard the concerns regarding, hair being potentially caught as well as the weight imbalance.
      Know that all concerns are noted and will be looked into for any potential changes or future models.

    Brad, since all the curly haired chicks are wondering how it's supposed to take less than 30min to straighten their hair, can you show a tutorial from wet to dry and straight hair to demonstrate how that's possible?? I'd be very interested in seeing 👀😊😊

    • @elaynaterrell3576
      @elaynaterrell3576 4 роки тому +39

      It would be a lot easier if people used rollers to stretch the curls first. If they did that first it wouldn't take long to straighten it. My aunt has extremely kinky hair and she always asks why it takes so long. I promise rollers help.

    • @katiechisholm
      @katiechisholm 4 роки тому +16

      Elayna Terrell I can see how it would help, definitely. When I used to straighten my hair, I always blow-dried it straight before using a flat iron because I can’t straighten my hair once it’s dry and curly. I should try using rollers first to see if it would allow me to.

    • @elaynaterrell3576

    I got lucky and got one as a gift. Probably most expensive thing I've ever owned lol. The price tag is super high, however, I have a connective tissue disorder. I get very tired and start hurting quickly when doing my hair. Because this is cordless and I don't have to fight with how I have to adjust my hands helps immensely. I was very impressed with how quickly it heats up, too. I never noticed any creasing nor snagging my hair. I do have thick AND dense hair though. To me, I found no flaws as Brad was talking about, but as mentioned my hair doesn't resemble the mannequins'. Save your points and get it from Ulta when they stop being such a trash company. That's how I ended up with my Air Wrap. Dyson has made some products that have allowed me to do my hair again instead of just throwing it up in a pony tail. I thought because of how heavy this was compared to my other flat irons it would tire me out quicker, but I think it helps that it's comfortable to hold and I can move it however I want.

    I had a friend in high school whose hair was so incredibly thick that the only thing that would straighten her hair was an iron; not a flat iron, an iron for your clothes. She would have to lay on an ironing board and her sister would iron her hair. She once tried a flat iron and it took over an hour, and it didn’t work: the hair she started off with was beginning to curl again when she was almost done. So yes, some girls do need 90 minutes to straighten their hair.

And bc I rarely straighten it, my hair is not tamed enough to just straighten the first swipe through. Technique is key I think. And making sure my hair is fully dry so I always wash then blow dry my hair right before I straighten. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I'm not saying it would be that way for everyone, but this 30 min charge would be fine with me.

    I might be able to answer the copper/titanium question, if anyone is curious.
    Titanium is obviously known for being super durable and resistant to wear (really valuable for a tool that gets a lot of use). However, it isn't very good for heating up due to relatively low conductivity. So, it uses a lot of energy. Copper, on the other hand, is a REALLY good conductor, and is very common for use in electronics and wiring for that reason. This makes it great for a cordless tool because it needs a lot less energy from a battery to heat up. It's also more malleable (read: flexible) so it has that bending capability that Brad mentioned, which can't be achieved with titanium. The main downside to copper is that it oxidizes pretty easily (the Statue of Liberty is made with copper and used to be shiny brown) so I hope the other metals mixed into the copper alloy have some resistance to oxidation.

I just really don't love this straightener. Yes, it straightens, but it pulls my hair. I cannot get my curls to look good at all with this. Also creates a lot of static in my hair, and I tried this in Georgia in the summer.....lot of humidity, so static is almost nonexistent. I've watched hours of UA-cam tutorials and reviews on the Corral. Really wanted to love the Corral, but am returning tomorrow. Maybe next time Dyson.

    Great video!! I bought the Dyson right when it came up. Love it!!! My hair is fine and frizzy, the only complain is that it snags a bit and it weird because I can't figure out where. I tried other expensive straighteners and they also snagged and burned my hair on top of it, so this is just a minor complain.

    I just bought my Dyson Coralle today and tested the waters and I could not be happier with it. I’m not sure what’s causing the creasing or snagging for you but I didn’t experience this at all when I was using mine. If anyone is wondering, I have blonde hair (naturally but it’s been lightened - my bangs have also been processed and are pink) that’s incredibly thick with a relatively minimal wave pattern and it goes a little past my tiddies. If you can afford this bad boy, I say it’s 100% worth the investment. My hair is so soft and shiny and it only took about 15 minutes to do. I’m beyond impressed!! I can’t believe all the advancements in technology and yet very little to choose from in the area of cordless hair straighteners. The cord is an everyday battle. It winds up on itself and gets caught on the cabinet handles in every bathroom I’ve been in. But $500 for a hair straightener is outrageous for the average consumer. Good review.

    Can you imagine paying 500 for a flat iorn and it snags your hair?!

  • @SKCrilly
    @SKCrilly 3 роки тому +1

    So theory... I think it's snagging more because it is heavier.
    I used to be fairly decent at curling hair with a flat iron about 5 years ago, and picked up the smoothness of the motion fairly fast after I got the iron for the first time. I would do it for myself, and as an amateur hairdresser for our drama class's plays, charity booths, dances, cheer, etc. I stopped curling hair often when I went silver after graduation, for about a year, and soon after got a bit of hand trauma that has weakened my hands and wrists. I can no longer curl my or others hair without dragging and creasing the same iron on my now virgin again hair, mostly because of my inability to control how much pressure I'm putting on the iron because of muscle weakness.
    Now, since this cordless iron is heavier, its minutely harder for your muscles to gauge the pressure it should be applying, and the heavier instrument applies extra, unintended pressure.
    ...It could also be a number of things, like the plate material being less smooth, the grooves that keep the hair from fanning being more surface area to snag on...
