I don't know anything about anything, but this video helped me get a nice gift for my girlfriend that has been complaining about her cheap flat iron. I know you made this help people who know stuff about hair care, but you should also know it helped someone who knows nothing lol. Thank you!
that is so adroable that you put so much thought into this instead of just randomly buying something that seems good. props to you sir!
I am here for the same reason lol
Dyson board meeting next 😂😂
LOLOLOL Would need to bleep out a bunch of my words
@@BlowoutProfessor just what we love! Truth 💪🏻
Omg I was just wondering what he thinks of the dyson products!
I love my Dyson tools and seeing a change on my hair too healthier than when I was using before for products. Just my thought and my experience

That number 1 BabyLiss is my favorite flat iron. I actually manage to do flat iron curls with it too. I had mine since 2011 and it’s still working in 2023 😂 I have no complaints and when I bought mine it came in a pack with 2 for $99 one was a regular size and the other is longer. It’s just excellent. I remember my coworker thought I went to the salon but I did it myself
I am so glad I found your channel. I have learned so much about how to take care of my hair and what products to use. I appreciate how you provide helpful information, yet keep it fun, simple to understand, and quick. I live in SE Florida and hope to one day be able to visit your salon and get my hair done by you.
Chris, I love your channel and all the great information and tips!! I have incorporated a lot of them into my routine. The best one, only using heat every 3 days! I’ve been doing that for about a month and have seen a huge improvement! Love the healthy hair routine and your product recommendations too!
I bought my babyliss pro nano titanium set (reg and mini size) almost 15 years ago. They still work and have never had any issues. Before purchasing those I was going through irons every few months because they would stop working. Babyliss is really great quality and will last you for years!
YOU are...by far...the best, honest and practical hairstyler, youtuber and professor, I EVER...in my entire life... for sure ...hands down, i sweare....(you know how this ends).... just thank you...THANK YOU for all your wisdome....
Hi Chris. I just stumbled onto you channel and so far I’m loving it. Love how you keep hair care simple and don’t push a ton of products.
I want to share my story in hopes it can help one of your other viewers.
About a year ago I started experiencing very itchy scalp whenever my hair was wet. Once it dried the itching went away. My hairdresser didn’t see anything of concern, I contacted Matrix to see if they had made any changes to the products I use, which they hadn’t. I saw a dermatologist who also couldn’t find anything. My doctor then suggested neuropathic itch and sent me to a neurologist and that was my answer. For whatever reason my hair being wet causes the nerves to over fire causing an itching sensation. According to my neurologist there are many causes. For me its a result of a spinal cord injury six years ago. I’m now on a medication that blocks those nerve receptors, it took about 3 months but I finally have relief.
Another great video on how to make the best choices for hair care tools.. I honestly believe in the information you give us for the best hair care products out there . I truly value the information you provide us because I honestly have the best hair I have ever had in my life & I have used professional hair products for a long time but nothing has came close to what I use now so thanks again Chris ❤
i am binge watching all your videos. I ordered all my products to get my healthy hair going on. In the meantime I used your technique to wash my hair and I already see a difference!! I can't wait to use proper products... thank you SO SO SO MUCH for all the information you're passing on. I can tell you are very passionate about what you do. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Omg! Was seriously considering a Dyson hair tool, so glad I saw your video!!!! You ARE AMMMMMAAAAZING! Thank you for existing!
Hi Chris! Can you please do more in-depth videos about curly hair and how to manage it?
Accidentally stumbled right inside this party and I’m loving this guy!
So glad I started following these videos. Thanks for the information.
Cloud nine are the best,I’ve had mine for 6 years looked after them and they curl amazingly and that’s the original ones ❤Merry Christmas
I have the babyliss pro ultra-thin flat iron for nearly 10 years now and i really dont regret buying it!! Such a good flat iron!!
I bought the #1 flat iron tonight because of you!
I recently got that GHD iron and love it! I'm black w 3b/c fine hair. I find the "hinge" useful because I am able to easily clamp my hair tightly enough to get good tension through each pass. I've had flat irons in the past start feeling "loose", or as tho the plates don't line up properly overtime, if that makes sense.
I like that the temp stays at 365. Ive had many irons in the past that go up to 450 and I've often ended up w heat damage. I think most ppls hair doesn't actually need that much heat to straighten well-- especially if you do a good blow dry/blow out first! I also find it frustrating when half way through doing your hair, you find the temperature setting has accidentally changed 😭 with the one set temperature the iron stays at a consistent temperature for my whole head.
I've used it just once and my hair turned out great, and I did maximum of 2 passes for each section I ironed.
I actually had a ghd about 10 years ago that I gave away bc it wasn't working for me, I found it snagged my hair and didn't clamp as tightly as I'd like.
I was drawn to this ghd for some reason, and I'm glad I went with it!
Horrible iron
your videos are always so helpful thank you for doing them!! ❤
Happy I could help 🙏
Hi Chris, first of all, I really love your channel! I'm a big fan of how you explain all the things and show us how the industry manipulates everything just to get more money 😊
I want to share my experience, I have the Babyliss Nano Titanium since 12 years ago or more and I used to love it but recently I bought the Steampod (I found a really good deal) and for me works better than the Babyliss, with Steampod I only pass the iron 1 time at 350°F and the hair looks shining and really straight and the more important thing, my hair last one week straight and with no frizz! (a must when you live in a place with a lot of humidity) with the Babyliss I used to pass the iron 2-3 times (450°F😥) and it did not last straight too long so the next day I was straightening my hair again 😅
I have also used the Steampod to do curls, at the beginning I was thinking that maybe because of the iron size the curls we're not going to look good, but I was completely wrong!!! The curls looked amazing and lasted 2-3 days in my hair. However, after watching your video related to curling irons I decided to buy the Hot Tools Curling Iron (in Europe I couldn't find the Babyliss that you recommended) and I will test it soon! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! ❤️
I also own the steampod I got it a few years ago during the Sephora 20% off sale and I also find it amazing for me hair type. I have medium to coarse hair from the roots. It’s also color treated hair and very long. I have never owned a Babyliss but I’ve tried almost every high end brand, GHD, CHi, JOSH HARRY, BIOIONIC, and even PAUL MITCHELL and the Steam pod works the best for my hair type. Doesn’t matter if my hair is healthy /shiny or dry it always comes out so smooth and hydrated. I sold all my flat irons and stayed with just this one. My hair dresses uses a Babyliss on me and it steams to make my hair nice as well.
I have a Steam-pod and I got it for over 40% reduced (because I used a coupon) and it is AMAZING, maybe it's just because I have healthier hair overall or because I got a keratin treatment, but my hair stays pin straight until I wash it, even when putting oil (which used to curl my hair right back) it stays perfectly straight
Thanks for you honest review!
I love your channel and all the advices! Your videos are literally the best 🙌🏻🥰🥰
Thank you for another informative video! Can you please do one on your top curling tools please 🙏
Thank you! Im loving your videos so far!! New subscriber/fan!
Yay I asked for this vid!! Thank you!
I bought a great one. Only used it 2 times though, nowdays I embrace my natural curls. I still gotta give it away to someone who would love it.
Hi Chris- Great Videos- Very informative. Hope you do one video for after Keratin dos and don'ts.
I have the Babyliss Prima 3000 and I love it!
I've had my GHD's since 2011 and they're still as good as new. They are the midnight collection, to be honest there wasn't much choice back then and the difference between cheap straightners and GHDs was night and day. I'm not sure I would have chosen them with the choices that there are now given the cost but given their longevity I'm very happy with them and won't be changing them until they stop working at the same standard!
Can't agree more
I also got mine around 2010 and until now it's perfect, it never broke, it works like new. Can recommend to anyone
Do you never use it? 🤔
I’ve had at least 5 the past 10 years… and I haven’t styled my hair that much the last 5 years

I’ve been using the same chi straightener since middle school and I never thought about buying a new one until I was staying at my aunts house and used her babyliss straightener… just wow. Made me want to throw away my chi forever 😅
I was about to buy the ghd premium and im so glad I found your video
I own Dyson wireless flat iron. It is amazing. I have curly/wavy corse hair. Dyson flat iron is the only one which could make my hair straight without to blow dry it first. I usually let it air dry, and then flat iron it. It always give me perfect sleek hair, and a lots of shine. I also use it as curling iron and gives me very nice beach style waves. I know the price tag is quite high but from my experience is worth it.
thank you very much! I needed this info from the expert. Love ya
Chris I love your videos and my hair as improved steadily . Please think of doing a video for all of us with short hair !! Please
So relevant... really loved it. Thank you
Just found your channel tonight!!!! Need a new flat iron, so am thanking you from Germany!
What a great video! Thank you! Could you please tell us about blowing brushes too? As the revlon one. I saw it in your hands in one of your videos.
Hey Chris, thank you for all of the great hair tips! Could you please make a video on how to curl hair with a flat iron? I just ordered the BaByliss Ionic and it's the first rounded flat iron I've owned. I've seen a few how-to videos but I'd love to learn your technique!
Love for you to try the seamless 1 iron. Infrared. Not really for the consumer, more for hairdressers. Its top of the range and expensive. But worth it.
Thank you so much for this ❤❤
Would love to see more strength training workouts✨
LOL. I need to make a separate channel for that :P
I totally absolutely 100% love your honesty and your educational value of teaching us students how to work on our hair!!! The right way 😊
Appreciate you Mookey 🙏
I just came across your channel and I've already learned so much! I wonder what is your opinion on curling tools, like the Babyliss miracurl!
I have the babyliss pro nano titanium. I have had it for over 6 years. It has never let me down. Gets my long natural thick hair straight. I can get right at the roots. It's my fave tool I have ever purchased. 😊
I too have very long and thick curly hair, and im looking for similar results as yours.
Is yours also the ultra thin? I would love your recommendation, please
@@glendatoribio heyyy I think mine is the ultra thin. Very old. I got it from Amazon. It's the 1.5 inch. Works like a charm every single time. I never have to use it on the highest heat. I use it one level down from the highest.
I need a wide plate one I heard the new ones these days suck
@@Ohkeh640 I love the 1.5 inch. It is perfect for doing small sections and medium sections. A 2 inch plate would be good but hard to do roots and edges. 1 inch is too small I find. Finding a great straightener is tricky. That's why I have been using Babyliss for over 10 years. 😊
@@shanikacorbI bought one six months ago was happy with it then one day it just didn't turn on anymore
I have hair type 3c maybe even 3b and 4a in some places and I LOVE my Babyliss Nano! I’ve used babyliss since about 2014. Before that I had a Conair steam pro or whatever it was called, damaged my hair like crazy. I tried the Hana Pro which I love but I accidentally dropped it. I also tried Chi which was absolute crap drying out my hair and taking forever to straighten it and didn’t make it feel smooth. I never wear my hair curly always blow drying , straightening and coloring as you can see on my pic even wirh years of treating my hair like crap it looks great. I give a lot of credit to Babyliss for being able to straighten my hair so easily and quickly thus minimizing heat damage. I’m very happy but crossed your video thinking while I love babyliss maybe more expensive means better. Thank you for yourbhonest video and saving me from wasting money. Sticking with my Nano
Just randomly ran across this video and I was actually trying to find something else but this was extremely informative bc I had a babyliss in my Walmart cart that was a random buy and I’m so glad you recommended it! And finally told me that ghd was crap you saved me like $100 thanks! I subscribed just now and now I need to know about blowdryers lol😅 bc Dyson bee calling me!
Oh my gawwdd !!!! Life savor🤘🏽😆 thank you this was helpful
This was so freakin cute!! You did that!!
I purchased the L’Oréal Steam pod Straightener as was lead to believe better for my bleached highlights. I also have the Cloud Nine Straightener actually find this one easier to use. Only just found your channel and am going through all your videos 😊.🇬🇧
Omg I bought the hot tools steam styler is it bad?!?
Thank you so much for doing this video. I have been looking for an iron... very confusing to pick the best one for your hair. Thank you so much!!! Thanks for recommending Walmart. Ulta was charging $159 for #1. I paid $99 at Walmart!!!
Super helpful, thank you!
Would love to see a video like this about curling irons.
Where have you been all my life. Thanks.for all the information
I bought my BaByliss ionic years ago for videos curls and it is amazing! Enough that when my first one broke in half (ahem I'm bad with my stuff) I rushed to buy a new one. Seriously amazing flat iron for curls. And I currently have the nano titanium!! And it does amazing work on my coarse roots.
Chris l love your channel ,this is so helpful 😍
Hi!
Honestly, I was saving money to buy the Steam Pod. However, after your (simple and honest) explanation, I realize that it really isn't worth it. I'll just stick with my old Remington straightening iron, which I only use about 4 times a year, yes, I only use it on occasions where I have to present myself with an impeccable and well-groomed look and it works perfectly!
Thank you so much for sharing both your knowledge and experience!
A kiss and keep up the good work!
Maria (Portugal)
Thank you so much, I was waiting for you to do this video!. I tried the steam pod and it didnt work. Probably beacause it was too bulky like you mentioned. I am def getting the nr one you recomnended😀
I agree completely with this. I love my Babyliss Nano. It is far and away the best straightener out there. I have naturally curly, fine hair. It has been a nightmare all of my life. There has never been a straightener that could give me perfectly straitened and never frizzy hair until I bought my Babyliss years ago.
Does it have steam?
I have same kind of hair 😮but I can’t do the back of my hair without leaving marks on my hair or missing some areas. So how do you do it to get your back? Thank you 😊
whats the exact straightner called?
Oh that's funny, my name is Heidi and I also have nightmare naturally curly fine hair. I stumbled on this video and can't wait 2 try this iron out!
@@candystayinaturalalexander5869 No steam.
Thank you so much for these videos. I have, after many years of trying, finally grown my hair long, and want to take good care of it and your tips and tutorials have been wonderfully helpful. I tried the Pulp Riot shampoo and conditioner you recommended in another video and they have been working great for me. Now I'm going to finally splurge on a good quality straightener and this video has really helped me make my decision.
You're the best Chris! TU! Curling irons next?
Sure! I have blow dry brushes first but then can do Curling irons after 👍
amazing thank you for the FREE edcaution so appreciate it learning so much!😊😊

awesome review
Great explanation ! :)
Had a good laugh with the GHD review and thanks for the BaByliss recommendations!
Omg thank youuuuuuuuuu I have had that GHD on my list for YEARS makes total sense why it’s so expensive thank you so much for this video! I have naturally curly hair and tend to straighten my hair every blue moon but want to flatten it more often! Thank you!
I was surprised not to see the Chi irons on this. I love them and they have a great technology. I have not tried the nano and will say I will see how they stand up to my Chi irons. I have several of them and have not been disappointed at all. I can get smooth sleek results on y African American clients. Thank you for the info and will check out the nano.
The older ones are some of the best ever made! But more recently the build quality just isn't up to their old standards :(
@@BlowoutProfessor completely agree. The old ones were awesome. Nothing like them. The ones I have bought in the last 5 years are not good. Quality has gone down.
I LOVE my Babyliss ultra thin flat iron.
I have used Chi since high school and it’s still works. Sometimes my hair doesn’t straighten well so now just order the babyliss one. Hopefully it’s works better
How do you like the Babyliss one? My Chi finally gave out on me.
Hi Chris! First of all: you are really the best. Since I discovered you, my hair has improved a lot! And with a huge saving of money! I followed your advice and bought your products with a huge satisfaction! Unfortunately here in Europe it is very difficult if not impossible to find some… the Babyliss pro nano titanium, for example, is non-existent! There are a thousand versions of Babyliss flat iron, even pro, but not the one you recommend… have you any alternative, please??? (I saw the hydro ionic etc… or the pro titanium ionic…) Thank you so much for all!!! Bravo 👏🏻
Same here. I couldn't understand which one to buy. There are so many options in babyliss Nano
It would be very instructive and satisfying if you uploaded the whole ironing process from the begging till end. I think that that kind of videos would improve your channel even more, even if it is already one of the most interesting, dynamic and instructive yt channels for hair. It could be the whole series: professional blowout at salon, blowout at home, professional flat ironing at salon, flat ironing at home, professional curling ...... and so on and so forth. My opinion is that there is a lack of quality fot that kind of videos, and I think that lot of people really love to watch it, on one hand for getting an information from a professional, on the other hand for relaxing their mind. 💋
I just discovered your videos. I love the advice and how you show how to use the products. I have coarse, thick hair that is turning gray. Is there anything different I need to use because of the gray?
Thank you so much!! My hair feels and looks much better!!!!
😳 ok I'm listening... when this man mentioned "the kitchen" section of hair he caught my attention! I haven't heard anyone use that term outside of a black beauty shop. 🤯☠️ I agree the babyliss nano is the best, I got one after using CHI for years and never looked back. Great video!
I have been deliberating between the Babyliss and Chi. What is better about the Babyliss?
No one does, lol. But we know the kitchen is at the nape
I’ve been using a cortex hair straightener since middle school 😂 love it
Ive bought expensive flat irons in the past like Babyliss and Rusk, but I never liked them. They snagged at my hair too much and didn't give me that smooth glide. I've been using the conair rainbow titanium flat iron for 2 years now and it's literally my favorite. It glides through my hair and never snags. I personally don't like ceramic ones because they never glide smoothly on my hair.
Thank you, I got the babybliss mini.😊
I trust you with my hair washing/moisture routine. I am going to trust you with my flat iron purchase. I abuse the crap out of my flat irons, and I was going to get the very basic GHD my stylist uses, because she's had it as long as I have been seeing her. It's seen some things. But I am going to save $70 and do the babyliss.
1.Ghd damaged my hair after a week of usage. The pre set so called safe for all hair types temp was way too high for my fine thin wavy hair.
2. Steam pod rocks for the humid weather, but is crazy clunky big, and I missed being able to put in a few flips and waves. Loreal has tutoriols showing you can but the styles always fell flat fast.
3. T3 Lucene is a nice iron but the fancy iq touch controls were a wonky gimick and I had to return it due to the ceramic coating bubbling up after less than 6 months.
4. Cant go wrong with titanium plates
Just remember if your hair is fine/thin/over processed and your used to using ceramic/switching over to titanium start out with a lower temperature setting
Yeah the GHD one is dangerous. There's no such thing as "safe" temperatures. You have to be careful no matter what. Deceives a bunch of people
Hey Chris,
Thank you very much for your informative content, l really appreciate all your hard work to bring these gems to us!
Question: l live in Germany and can only get the babyliss straightners from amazon but upon looking at the reviews, it seems they may be fake - what are your thoughts? Where is the best place to buy this if l am ever in the US - and what may be an alternative for the europe girls?
I have a T3 tourmaline flat iron for over 15 years now and it is still going strong. It makes my hair shiny. I feel no need to use heat protection spray and I have not burnt my hair with it. I did also buy a titanium flat iron (not babybliss) and for a non professional home user, I will never buy a titanium flat iron again. It burnt my hair many times. They are not user friendly for the non professional.
Rtfl "a weather vane and a compass" 🤣. Geeeez luv it
love your content videos ! question: for long wavy hair does it matter the with on the flat iron? I am undecided if to get 1, 1 1/2 or 2 inch width plate ? hope to hear back!
I love your channel❣your tips are so good and I listened to what you said about shampooing hair.
I recently bought the cleansing cream from Redken, to use it first before my Kerastase shampoo to save some money, but I noticed that it says on the label to NOT USE more than 1 x per week.
Usually I need to wash my hair 2-3 times per week.
Question is:
Can I use the cleansing cream once per wash, totalizing 2-3 x per week?
Or only use 1x per week?
I have fine, very long hair, oily and I sweat a lot in gym.
Thank you for the video! What do you think about the Bio Ionic 10x flat iron? Thank you
Love your videos! I was wondering if you have any additional shampoo recommends for fine hair. I love the redken volume inject, but I HATE the scent, the floral gives me a bit of a headache. Really want to find something that gives similar results but doesn’t smell like a bouquet of roses on my head. Thanks in advance!
Hope you will make video about best blowdryers!
I can do that!
More expensive doesn't mean better. I used to have a Diva straightener back in 2008 and it worked great even on my white platinum bleached hair, i never noticed damage. Also look at the Dyson, i've seen many bad reviews and with the price for it i want it to be exceptional at what it's meant to do lol
I remember getting a £200 (about $320 at the time) GHD in about 2005. It still works and is reasonably decent, though I very very rarely straighten my hair.
I got my first GHD in 2005 and kept it until 2018! I only replaced it because I felt the plates were beginning to have stick. I can’t recall keeping any other hair tool around for that long! I have already replaced my hairdryer 4 or 5 times.
I got my first ghd in 2004 and it's still working. I gave to my mom when I move out from home. My mom only uses the ghd, even though, she got the baby liss and Royale one. I've tried some like chi, infrared croc, Paul Mitchell, ans loreal stempod; I went back to ghd the 2 inches one and I absolutely love it, my hair feels soft and shiny. I never got it with the other flat irons.
Yes! Older irons were built so much better than today. Sounds like a grumpy old man thing to say. But if you have an old iron that still works... Keep it for as long as you can
I have a ghd straightener that I purchased when I was in college . It still works a decade later 😂
Thank you as always!
Hi Chris, Can you please recommend hair products for coloured hair.
Do you recommend the Dyson styler or could you give a review o. it please. Love your videos.
Awesome video! I know what’s I’m going to ask Santa 🎅🏼 for! Ty ty
Totally agree on the GHD
