Have you considered putting books ON TOP of the shelving units? Using the top surface as another place for books? You'd need sets of bookends to keep them in place.
That pile of books wasn't bad. Your bookshelves look well organised. I've been buying a lot of books this year, my desk is now covered with them. I've ordered another bookcase, but shipping has been delayed for another three weeks!
It's an illusion! At least they all fit on the shelves, but there is no rhyme or reason to where the are (well, except my cookbooks and nonfiction. Those are on their own shelves.) Thanks!
We've been working on our bookcases, too - first time since we moved in 30 years ago! You have a beautiful home. The fact that you still have some empty spaces means you're not too bad off - ha ha Ah, you need to keep the bottom shelves clear - got it. We have certain bookcases for certain books (classics, favorites, to-be-read, etc.) but not much organization within the shelves. Looks like a good start - you've got some beautiful bookcases - thanks for the extra inspiration to finish our project!
Hi Gina, your shelves look wonderful, all of them. Your house is so cozy. I love the his and hers desks and the hanging guitars. I don’t have enough space to keep all my books. Wah,wah . But I love my shelves that I got for $50 new from Goodwill because it had a flaw. I might get rid of my two small shelves and get one large one eventually. It’s hard to get rid of books. I sent some of my books to subscribers and that makes me feel better about letting them go sending you a lot of love from Hawaii. Aloha dear friend. MMM
Your office is so snug, Gina! The prospect of reorganising my bookshelves is so triggering that I never even make a start 😬I would love to see a full bookcase tour at some point and get a closer look at some of your lovely books!
I think your house looks so cosy, I love the owl cushion, I have one as well, love owls😊. I really like that gorgeous red hardback of Jane Austen, which edition is it?❤
Loved this video! Your house is so cozy and cottage feel. I absolutely love it. I could see myself reading in both your living room and office. In my home, i have my books sort of hidden away in an old linen closet with a curtain over it. It works though. Id love a real shelf once my child is old enough not to destroy them (shes 4.5 and just starting to read and love books-eek so exciting!!). Good to see you! By the way… my signed edition of September got here today. I almost cried touching the signature and feeling the grooves her pen made 😍 Ugh i feel so relieved it made it here.
How fun to be introducing your daughter to reading. That is such a fun age (I don't have kids but I used to nanny 4 year old twins.) I'm so glad to hear your September arrived safe and sound! It's always a bit of a risk, isn't it. I am so jealous!!
@@GinaStanyerBooksaw i didnt know that about you! Thats fun. Yes its a great age. Shes an only child and im homeschooling her, so it’s special. We are flying through the chapter books 😊 I hope you can get a signed copy, too.
Your facial expressions, funny faces and funny noises are so enjoyable; makes me laugh. I NEED all the laughs I can get! I am soooo jealous of ALL your bookshelves! I NEED at least 4 floor to ceiling shelves. I first have to sell all my Craft Storage (seeing as I can't craft anymore for 2 yrs!) in order to buy the shelves! You should see my face!! everyday as I dodge around SO MANY huge tote bags filled w/ books. If I were you, I would put that plastic piece against the bottom shelf you just put the bks. on so your cat doesn't repeat😑 Thanks Gina, always looking' for your videos 🤗🤗
Thanks Eileen, I know, I'm a bit of a goofball :) I am really lucky to have so many shelves! I just love the look of walls of books, it's so cozy and comforting to me. I hope you get some shelves one day.
I find organizing my books so hard! I just don’t know how other people do it! I get started, I do a few shelves and then I peter out. A few months later everything has been shuffled out of order anyway.
Gina you might be able to use both of your bottom bookshelves. Why not put your books back on the shelf and put some pots with artificial green plants (there are some beautiful ones) on the floor in front of the shelves? It might keep your cat away from the shelves and bring a little greenery into the room. just a thought.
Hi! That is the first book in his Barchester series. I looove the series but that book is a lot of people’s least favorite. But it’s short and it’s really fun to read all the books in order.
@@itssammierose I was thinking about this, and I remember I really loved The Belton Estate. It’s a standalone love story/love triangle. It may be a good place to start!
Actually, if you give me permission, I will share some information to increase your channel. Then you will lose subscribers and views. Can I contact you on any messaging platform?
hihi, i understand the struggle :P . Isn't it an option to put something decorative in front of it so the cat can't go there. Like a decorative fench or something? Just an idea ;) Thanks for a little tour around your house and bookshelf :D Lovely vlog!
Aw, Gina! The reorganizing video where nothing gets reorganized! I do love that about you dear! 💛
LOL right!? I really was planning on organizing but just got overwhelmed. One of these days!
You have such a lovely cozy home ❤ Love all the bookshelves
Thanks so much!

Thanks Sue! I’ve lived here almost 39 years too, and have never had a cohesive plan. It’s a work in progress (loooong progress lol)
I love the new old man chair. 😊
It's so cozy!
I have done that, just stood there and wondered where to put my new books. I am forever moving my books around. But I love them.
I know Sherri, I love mine too. I did a little more organizing today and I feel better :)
A fine reorganization job by my standards!
Right? It works for now.

Baby steps 😂

Thanks so much Punita! That edition is a Franklin Library from 1980.
I have a love/hate relationship with shelf reorganization. I feel your pain.
Well, you did great in your last reorg. I just froze up and couldn’t do a single think LOL.
Using bookends on the top shelve would be an idea.
Maybe use the bottom shelves to the full but block them off with a board or something. A pretty board of course….💕

I’ve got some spiky mats that seem to be doing the trick, so I may put books back on that shelf eventually.
Would you say the warden is a good book to start with for Trollope? Ive never read anything by him.
