Hey Stu, this is L from the future. Currently in the year 2086. Wanted to just travel back in time to when you were still alive to let you know it was a solid purchase. Thanks
Just stumbled across this video in search of a good review of the Magnus Desks and I’m not gonna lie. I’m sold on this desk. The way you went into so much detail really helped me understand if this was for me and the durability is actually what did
This is how reviews are supposed to be. Amazing and very thorough. I have the pro electric version and it's the best desk for me. Minimalistic and clean, I love working on it and have saved height presets since I work from home.
Hello I've traveled back in time from the year 2083 to comment on this video. The world is in shambles. UA-cam is no more. Everything is destroyed. But my Secretlab Magnus Pro desk I bought on recommendation of your review is still around and has thus saved many lives, acting as both an impromptu operating table as well as a makeshift bullet shield. It also looks like I bought it a week ago. Seriously though, phenomenal review, not just in informative value, but also in humor and production quality. You certainly earned that sub and then some!
Great review and channel! I had this desk (magnus pro xl) with all the accessories since February this year and its been great so far. Its expensive for sure, but you get great quality in return. PC mount has been tested up until 25kg so it'll hold even bigger/more packed PCs, the desk is stable even at the 'standing' heights (130cm+), the full size mouse pad feels great and is easy to clean - I highly recommend it for someone who's looking for a high end desk but cannot decide. Ive fitted it with 2x 27" dual screen, DAC/amp with speakers and a macbook dock, PC mounted underneath - no problems with space or cable management!
This channel is a hidden gem. 1. Your talking style, at least on video, is very similar to Jeremy Clarkson. There is character and entertainment. So points for that, especially since I have a huge JC fan. 2. I was interested in this desk from the start and plan to buy one in Feb 2024. 3. I enjoyed the fact that everything you discussed you showed, allowed me to get a good feel for the product I plan to spend my hard earned money on, which after all is the point of a review. You got yourself a new subscriber.
yeah im maybe hitting 100 of its 270 weight and that has the pc a labtop 2 monitors mic 2 keyboards and i was adding the tables weight itself to the number
I was only after more information about this desk but I gotta say the humour you put into this video won me over for a sub. Thanks for being absolutely hilarious. Love it! You're incredible!!!
I've got a SecretLab Titan chair I bought in 2020, and it looks as new as the day I got it. I've ordered the Magnus Pro to replace my old desk and get me off my posterior more often.
Never seen any of your vids. In fact, i write this comment right after the intro. I just wanna say that you have a really calm and satisfying voice. Cheers
Mr.Stu thanks for your review🙏 It’s been a dream of mine to be able to game on this desk one day and yesterday I ordered the Magnus pro with a cream white desk pad, dual monitor mount, premium pc mount, and cable management kit. I currently already have the secret lab titan Evo chair with lumbar pillow pro and memory foam arm rests so the desk will be a sweet addition to the game room. Honestly the biggest reason I wanted to get this desk is so I don’t have to use a foot rest anymore (I’m 5’4). I have to raise my chair along with using a footrest to match the arm rests with my current desk. But the Magnus pro can go low enough to where I can sit it my chair normally on the lowest height without a foot rest and still match the arm rest with the desk for optimal aiming + posture. Also looking forward to having my PC mounted underneath the desk for the first time. I always cable manage as best I can but this desk should make the process so much quicker and easier.
I have never watched your content before but I must say this is one of the best put together reviews of any product I have ever seen. (And I watch a lot of reviews!) You have convinced me to purchase this and I can't wait to set it up and struggle with the magnetic mat placement! :) Thank you!! Also, subbed!
I almost bought the Magnus Pro. Wound up with FlexiSpot as it's less money but still good quality, and came in white. If Secret Labs ever puts out a white version, I'd be sorely tempted to switch. A solid black hunk of metal would unfortunately have thrown off my entire office vibe. Stellar review, though. You're chair review was one that helped me pick my 2020 Titan chair.
@@richtea7868 Mag pads for the legs? The mag pads on top of the desk aren't really the issue, it's the vertical items like Legs that would be nice to have in white (or any lighter colour, like grey) to better fit in smaller office's. Now it's a bit of a black hole.
Just come across this channel. Such a sweet man, that is criminally undersubbed. I wish you all the best of luck with the growth of your channel. I’m really enjoying my desk and couldn’t agree more with the review.
Ive just bought this desk on your review replacing a simple table Ive been using for years. I just started work from home full time and I'm hoping that this helps save my body and cleans up the workspace.
Update: It really is a lovely desk, I was able to set it up so I don't have to change any wires between my work and personal setup and all the cabling hides nicely in the back. Rises far higher than expected too, making cleaning underneath a joy.
I must be one of the only people who is actively unhappy with their Magnus Pro XL. The thing wobbles like crazy at standing height. It's awful to the point where I can't even use a drawing tablet on it because it moves so much that it throws off the pressure-sensitivity
Great video. While I checked it after my purchase (that arrives coming Tuesday) it's put my mind at ease a little. Never had a computer setup, and went a bit overboard, bought the Magnus Pro, their top chair, and full Alienware suite.
I just built my Magnus Pro after having the Titan chair for a couple years. (unfortunately I got my Titan right before the EVO was announced or I woulda waited a touch longer lol). I will say it def feels very solid, even when I compare it to my GF's IKEA sit stand desk we picked up 3 years ago. (though will say hers has lasted better than expected, esp after adding an LTT full desk desk pad) 100% agree about aligning the magpad. That was the biggest pita when putting it all together. My only critique of the desk is theres no adjustment to the feet to help level the desk. I live in a 120+ year old house that the floors arent very level, so having some adjustability would be awesome.
I've not come across your channel before but really like your video style and personality. Kind of gives me Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear vibes. Great video man.
Late to the party as usual, but a brilliant review, thanks Stu! As an old codger still working from a desk full time, these look very appealing. I'm not flush with cash, but If you are spending 8+ hours a day at your desk, the cost over time isn't so bad for what you get...and we have plenty of grandchildren to spare if I can get a good price for one of them.
21:10 Alright challenge accepted! I am moving at the beginning of November and I am looking for a desk setup and I landed upon this video so I guess that has made the choice and decision easy. I'll be over a hundred years old in 60 years but by then my desk will absorb my consciousness to say it's doing solid and to thank you.
I just set up my Magnus Pro XL for my personal set up - I was using an L shaped desk for work but wanted a sit/ stand to help with trying to be more active. Completely ruined the functionality I had with the L setup though. So I just ordered a second to use for work - square room one opposite the other - just have the chair in the middle and spin back and forth between them. Hoping it will work out - it was expensive enough.
I have a secret lab titan chair for a few years now and i’m seriously considering the desk next and appreciate your review and for some reason (if i close my eyes) i feel i’m listening to Jeremy Clarkson version 2.0 😂.
Me too man. I ordered this and had instant regret. Expected to be “stuck with it” - I’m on my first week but this desk is a gem. Being able to hit a button and stand or sit is great. All the cable management is on point. All the metal pieces are perfect there’s no cheap components anywhere on this thing except maybe the plastic caps.
Well, you won me over, Stu. First video I’ve seen of yours. Well done. I’ve subscribed and am looking forward to seeing your other content. Keep up the great work!
Good review Stu, one thing you did not mention was the stability of the desk. I've seen various videos of the Magnus Pro XL being very unstable at its full height due to the fact of its legs are made of three segments rather than two. I believe this is the main reason most people are avoiding buying this table, including myself, even though the chairs are amazing and I bet the tables ar too. :)
I love this desk and the magnetic pad even more. In the future, re-roll the mat by the long side so you can line it up easier. This is the way to deal with installing a non-moveable veneer, so I think it should help with this also. Thanks for another excellent presentation of a very interesting product.
Like the chair, I can definitely see the pro version of these desks to be a useful addition to my life, and like yourself I'm quite tall, so a desk that I can move to my height and posture would be amazing, but the price is what puts me off, I still will likely end up getting one some day, but it is definitely something to think about, a great review though that has demonstrated some of the things I was wary of and has loosened my grip on my wallet a bit more.
I actually bought a desk by handscraftmen. I paid more than double the price and it was way smaller. And its a nightmare to plug in the cables in the socket. Total ripp off. Now i gonna move to a new house. I'm defo buying this desk now really looks amazing, i don't think the price is that much if i might be honest. Seems really fair for what you all get Also nice video really love the accent and ambience of this video. Good info also good job
Been researching Standing Desks and this has sold me on the Magnus Pro, fantastic video as well so have subscribed. I notice you have a Mac mini on the desk, Are you able to use it securely in the PC mount?
Power and ethernet cords on the floor is a deal braker, it messes up robo vac work. I have my power and ethernet cords from my adjustable desk hanging in a parabola shaped wrap into a cable channel that then goes down to the socket. It looks and works perfectly
I want to place my monitor as far away back as possible, using no monitor arm. The monitor stand will probably overlap onto the cable management tray part. My question: Does that part lay flush with the rest of the desk? With the desk mat on. From what I can see it is slightly lower. IMO I would have preferred cable management holes. It's just lost desk space to me.
I wonder how it work if some mechanical or electrical stuff break. How to replace it and all if all its nicely build in. Do secret lab offer some guarantee and stuff on the parts?
Do you have to be home to sign for the delivery when it arrives, or does it get left at your door? I want to order a few but cant take off from work to hang around all day waiting to sign for it when it comes.
Hi, i got a question. I have 2 34 inch monitors (LG and Acer Predator) and im looking for putting them above eachother. The Predator as my main monitor and the LG as a 2nd monitor above it. Do you think the monitor mounts that come with the SecretLabs desk can hold up the 2nd LG monitor?
great video! not long ago I invested a lot of money into a good spec gaming pc and a 49" ultrawide monitor & decent computer chair. Having done all that though I realised I didn't have enough money to invest into a great desk so just bought a flat pack one off amazon so I could take advantage of my set up. sadly though it dose not show my equipment in the best light and there's no way this desk would support the weight of a monitor arm I would need lol, so I've now decided to save up for one of these desk's especially now magnus do a arm specific to big curved monitors. might take me a little while to save seeing I depleted most of my savings buying my dream computer set up lol but all good things come to those who wait. great ending to you're video by the way aha them dark thoughts going my anxiety spinning aha.
I would love to get the Magnus Pro XL but other then it costing $1000 I already have an UpLift desk, however this desk is narrow. So I either get a whole new desk and have to figure out what to do with a 7 year old $600 standing desk, or I just get a new top for my current one and not get the fancy cable tray on the back.
Theres one thing im yet to figure out. Two actually. Its it possible to use the desk without the magpad whitout it looking unfinished or unpractical, and does the magnetic cable holders work without the magpad? Because it will eventually wear down or get damaged... And by the time it does replacement pads for it might not exist anymore... Just trying to figure out if the entire longevity of the desk gets compromised by a 89 euro option.
I have a question I haven't been able to figure out yet; im wanting to run a quad monitor setup, three x 32 inch and a single 28 inch. a vertical 32 and then a 28-inch horizontal above a 32-inch horizontal and then another vertical 32-inch. What's the best way to go about utilizing this desk?? Two dual arms or 4 singles?
How deep is the cable tray with regards to storing a power strip in there and some of those larger plugs that stand quite proud on it? I'm planning on getting the L shaped set-up.
Thinking about getting the magnus pro desk but I don't want their "magpad". is the surface metalic and cold to the touch? Would you think it is easy to scratch without it? And another question - I keep a 48" oled on my desk. it's 15kg and part of it would be sitting on the cable tray since I want to put the tv at the end of the desk
I need a new desk, I currently have a $30 desk from Amazon, it's soooooo flimsy and wobbly, it's bending down in the middle sooooo much, every connection point is loose af and the drawer randomly breaks and falls to the floor all of the time, it's also extreamly small and the top is scratched up just from using my mouse, there is a huge brown area where my mouse is where the black paint got sanded away from moving my mouse around, there is also a circle where the paint got ripped off because I got a drop of super glue on the desk, and also it just looks super girly and childish. I might start saving to buy a Secret Lab desk. I also just bought the Secret Lab Titan Evo Diablo IV Chair and it's so cool
Hi there, great review. I have such a desk, but I can't see how to add the led strip when the screen mount is in place. Do you have any pictures available ? Thanks Mark
@@StusReviewsUK ok thanks, I'll have a try, but when I did that, the magnets didn't align and I had more than a few mm bulge.....it didn't look too professional for a desk of this quality. Thanks
I just wanted to say this video is fucking amazing, the quality of the review and video production makes it so much fun and interesting to watch, deffo gonna procrastinate watching these videos
I have an extreamrly geavy duty monitor arm with a massive monitor that clamps onto the desk surface with alot of force. Will the mag top be damaged by this and or compromise the grip of the monitor arm?
Can you say anthing about the wabble on the Pro and Pro XL Desk once they are up at like 100-120cm? That is the one thing that worries me at the moment.
Normal reviewer: *tries to give a comprehensive review as soon as possible for optimal views* Stu: So after a year of using this product.. Lots of love man!
I'm considering buying this desk (the pro xl variant and some accessoires) but I don't know yet if I want to do it NOW or when I will move to my own place. I still live in my parents' house and if I would replace my current desk now, then I don't have a desk in my room in this house when I move the Secretlab one to my own place (maybe I could buy a cheap Ikea one instead). And it's also the price. I would have to save a little more money to be able to buy this desk. I also need to buy a new gaming chair (perhaps the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022) because my current one is already almost 5 years old (and the leather isn't in good condition anymore). My desk is now almost 10 years old or even older btw. I don't remember anymore 😁 And I also don't know how I'm going to mount my subwoofer of my 2.1 speaker system. Maybe I need to buy a 2.0 system again. Or I must buy a second PC mount. 😁
Stu, Do you find you need to purchase the secret lab arm mounts or can I keep my third-party and use those instead? Other than that you’ve sold me on the desk well done.
There’s a Reddit thread on this. Interestingly there’s some 3rd party arms that don’t fit (which I didn’t know at the time of the review), so if you want no hassle guarantee- I’d go for the SL arms… or if you’re happy to buy and return a few if they don’t fit you could try 3rd party.
@@StusReviewsUKman maybe a loaded question but how do you go about filming? I tired to film setting up this desk but the camera was only in one spot and it was a continuous video for 25+ min. Do you record everything stopping and moving the camera then condense it in editing so you only show snippets of the build process
I like it but really liked the chair desk you did the other day better! Stu can you do a Dashcam comparison video. Finding it hard to find one on here. Keep up the quality work buddy.
I just watched a 22 minute review of a desk, while not needing a desk. The production of this video is incredible.
Haha! Thanks for sticking around 🥃

It's just lost desk space to me.
love how you say secret lab chairs look just like the day you bought them!!!! know thats true!!! i subscribed!!! looking forward to your next vid!!!
I wonder how it work if some mechanical or electrical stuff break. How to replace it and all if all its nicely build in. Do secret lab offer some guarantee and stuff on the parts?
Question Sir. What kinda of speakers are on your desk with the RGBs?
Hi Stu,
Great review! Do you know if the legs are interchangeable? Or will the "power" leg always be on the left?
Cheers!
Always on the left side.
What is the background / screen saver you are using?
Do you have to be home to sign for the delivery when it arrives, or does it get left at your door? I want to order a few but cant take off from work to hang around all day waiting to sign for it when it comes.
Really great review mate!
Love the Top Gear-esque style
Brilliant
Subbed 😊
Stu, what is that video, wallpaper engine or screensaver you run in the background and do you have a link? :)
Great content btw
Great review, thanks! :-) I really don't get, why you're not across the 100.000 sub-mark yet. Comment for the algorithm. 😄
You are a star! 👍🥃
Soon 200k subs :D Congrats :D
Always great and entertaining reviews. Thanks Stu, if there is a UA-camr that deserves the 100k subs it's you...
Two dual arms or 4 singles?
question: is the mag pad like a big mouse pad?
Great video, thank you for covering all aspects
How deep is the cable tray with regards to storing a power strip in there and some of those larger plugs that stand quite proud on it? I'm planning on getting the L shaped set-up.
did you get it?
Thinking about getting the magnus pro desk but I don't want their "magpad". is the surface metalic and cold to the touch? Would you think it is easy to scratch without it?
And another question - I keep a 48" oled on my desk. it's 15kg and part of it would be sitting on the cable tray since I want to put the tv at the end of the desk
I already bought one before watching this so I’m glad I did
I need a new desk, I currently have a $30 desk from Amazon, it's soooooo flimsy and wobbly, it's bending down in the middle sooooo much, every connection point is loose af and the drawer randomly breaks and falls to the floor all of the time, it's also extreamly small and the top is scratched up just from using my mouse, there is a huge brown area where my mouse is where the black paint got sanded away from moving my mouse around, there is also a circle where the paint got ripped off because I got a drop of super glue on the desk, and also it just looks super girly and childish. I might start saving to buy a Secret Lab desk. I also just bought the Secret Lab Titan Evo Diablo IV Chair and it's so cool
I only subscribed because of the raising and lowering shot. Expectations set sir.
Hi there, great review. I have such a desk, but I can't see how to add the led strip when the screen mount is in place. Do you have any pictures available ? Thanks Mark
it should just run underneath the plate Leaves a few mm bulge... but you can't tell when you're sat at the desk.
Welcome to the Country Club! 🥃
I just wish they made a version with a white frame
btw did you test the Ethernet cable extender yet?
Can you share the link for the smart power adapter inside the rail you mentioned?
Sure! amzn.to/46HrVdx
Is there any chance being stuck with a desk where the motor just fails? Debating getting one but naturally big consideration due to the price
Great review and great video!
Thanks! 👍

Stu: So after a year of using this product..
I don't remember anymore 😁
And I also don't know how I'm going to mount my subwoofer of my 2.1 speaker system. Maybe I need to buy a 2.0 system again. Or I must buy a second PC mount.
😁
Mine is against my wall and still wobbly, any tips on how to fix this?
This is an old video but hoping you'll respond - what screen saver are you using (e.g. at the 10-minute mark)?
Drift
lol I love the Dark turn you took 😂😂😂😂
Stu,
Do you find you need to purchase the secret lab arm mounts or can I keep my third-party and use those instead? Other than that you’ve sold me on the desk well done.
There’s a Reddit thread on this. Interestingly there’s some 3rd party arms that don’t fit (which I didn’t know at the time of the review), so if you want no hassle guarantee- I’d go for the SL arms… or if you’re happy to buy and return a few if they don’t fit you could try 3rd party.
thanks stu I appreciate it.@@StusReviewsUK
@@StusReviewsUKman maybe a loaded question but how do you go about filming? I tired to film setting up this desk but the camera was only in one spot and it was a continuous video for 25+ min. Do you record everything stopping and moving the camera then condense it in editing so you only show snippets of the build process
Already ordered mine! I have the Xbox series x and I wish they had a console mount so I do t have to mount it on my wall
I like it but really liked the chair desk you did the other day better! Stu can you do a Dashcam comparison video. Finding it hard to find one on here. Keep up the quality work buddy.
Which chair desk
