Kinda want to see Artosis's take on Protoss keybinds. I imagine it'd be something along the lines of "bind everything to all your keys and faceroll it". Good video though. Commenting to help the algorithm too.
Tosis tends to be very objective when it comes to theory or commentating. I would definitely watch his take on Terran hotkeys though

Just found this video. Been playing Sc2 for 10 years at GM level and decided to put it down for broodwar. Excited for the journey and this is a good starting point.
Stick with these tasteless, I love it. I'm thinking of playing on the ladder for the first time after watching sc in it's various forms for the last 10 years because of these.

i started playing recently and have played for about 200 hours now, never noticed the existence of the return cargo hotkey 'C', thanks Tasteless!:D
I didn't even know you could rebind like this in remaster, after 20 years I'm going to finally change my keybinds lol
And tasteless just completely blew my mind by using the edge of his hand for the ctrl key
Don't forget you can re-map the keyboard itself! It's obv not a feature within starcraft or starcraft 2, but the game just sees input, it doesn't care about what the label on the key cap is. e.g. I re-map Esc to an F key so I can use ctrl+esc but not trigger the built in Windows command.
It's not allowed in tournaments to re-map the keyboard? I just heard you mention that about 25 mins in

I respectfully disagree with this. 8-9-0 was only because We *had* to use them because P was for probe. It's way better to switch over to E for probe like in starcraft 2. 3 and 4, or using 5 and 6 is fine for early game but honestly taking advantage of f2f3f4 is far more important than using 8 9 0. That's just my opinion on this. It's better to use 8-9-0 on things like Robo and obs and shuttle.

if you can't reach 890 with your pinky on the control button, use your thumb on the right control key and pinky/ring to 890. I use left control for all numbers after 6

Funny I can just reprogram my keyboard and put the keys where ever I want them. If your never playing in the ASL I wouldn’t worry about it and I’d make a hotkey setup that’s comfortable, doesn’t hurt your hands, and F-key the rules.

You actually could rebind your hotkeys pre-remastered. But it required some resource-file hacking. Uncertain if it was legal in tournaments though.

The rally point for the workers to the mineral... They don't mine automatically... Or I'm the one not setting the rally point properly?
Finding this after watching Day9 let's learn StarCraft, I can't be more grateful for yet more educational content in my quest to suck less at brood war
EDIT: I'm also glad Tasteless straight up came out and said to change the hotkey setup cuz for some weird reason I have a really efficient hotkey setup in sc2 but haven't changed bw ever
great idea for a video series. ive been wanting to get better and had the idea to redo my key bindings last year, it has helped somewhat but im still too slow.
any clues or ideas to get faster in general would help too
none of these hotkeys are what i expected are best, i figured pretty much grid (with minor changes such as A for attack n F for build) would be easier keys for me to remember when looking at command cards. never wouldve thought i should be using P for probe still. thank you for the tips! lookin forward to tryin this stuff out, itll definitely force me to become accustomed to the whole keyboard, and make numbers actually more possible without looking down!

Would it make sense to bind shield battery into another far away key like “M”? A usual mistake for me when spamming cannons is pressing b-b fast at some point and the UI now selects a shield battery and you have to correct to b-c again. It only takes a split second to correct but everything counts right?
Really looking forward to the next videos. Love the breakdown of the mechanics man.

Grid isn’t allowed in tournaments? I get the downside of having a hard time hitting the far control groups but is that it? I’d much rather set all my units to a grid setup personally

I personally use my ring finger for a, my middle finger for 1 and 2 and my index finger for 3 and 4. 1a2a3a4a

i dont understand u say we cant bind numberkeys but then u say we bind numbers and i cant bind them in settings
Why don't put all workers bind to the F letter? it seems the most intuitive thing to me.

I have always loved this game but I am terrible at hot keys and bouncing back and fourth. For building and attacking. I have always been a Terren player. I need help with learning how to micro. Any videos that could help??
