  • During a normal delivery, an episiotomy may be performed, which is a small surgical cut made just outside the vagina, measuring about 3 to 4 cm. This procedure is done to facilitate a smoother delivery and help prevent tearing.
    Typically, about 5 to 6 stitches are placed to close the incision, and the good news is that these stitches are absorbable, meaning they will dissolve naturally within 20 days post-delivery. 🌼
    Caring for these stitches is crucial for a healthy recovery. We advise our patients to apply antibiotic ointment to the area to prevent any infections and promote healing. Proper hygiene and care will aid in a more comfortable recovery process.
