You should go undercover to dealership and record their answers to the issues you found.
I build these and I'm seriously not surprised. It's all about quantity and not quality in that plant. Don't get me wrong, I put quality first in every truck I build, but management is more concerned with pumping them off the line
Sad, the exact opposite of say, Toyota. The fit and finish is always pretty much 100%. Too bad Ford can't do that.
@@BarnStangz I work at the Toyota plant an hour from where these are built and it's not any better there
@@davidfoster7008 Damn that sucks. I still have my 1994 Toyota pickup and it's been a good truck, just had typical frame issues that I have cut out and welded good metal in. Then coated with Chassis Saver. The only other Toyota products are two Lexus cars and they have been stellar. Of course, one was made in Japan and the other in Canada. It's too bad that these companies can't step up the quality control. I still like Ford, but I guess you have to put up with small issues... But man, for what these trucks cost today, they should be damn near perfect.
@Andrew Sully 600K miles is no joke! Buddy is doing something right! I still really like for and I have a few of them on my farm... Maybe it's just "luck of the draw" depending on if you get a good truck or not, lol!
@Andrew Sully Yessir, I'm a BIG believer in, If it ain't broke don't fix it!
Thank you, what a great concept to check your purchase thoroughly. Buyers test drive shoes better than they do an $80k truck.
Take the truck back and make them get you another one. This one will be plagued with problems its whole life.
The 2017 F350 Dually has suffered that fate with tons of major problems and is also going back to the dealer.
Time to switch to ram
@@DirtComplex is his 2017 deleted? If it is the dealer won't take it back because he messed with the emissions
@B ! Recalls don't equal real problems, they equal potential problems.
B ! At least Ram acknowledges its mistakes and fixes them via recall. Ford just goes 🤷🏻♂️ and makes you fight to have them warrantied. Fords have way more problems then Ram. I have owed them all and that’s why I drive Cummins
I would suggest using this video to inspect your Ford before you buy one. Awesome video thanks so much guys.
Chew the pre delivery inspection worker at the dealership who charged time to inspect this truck.! No excuses
Im a Ford guy myself but I have noticed the quality go down. I would be loosing my mind if I payed 80k for a truck and had those issues.
How do you loosen a mind?
Ditto What Pablo said. I was so disappointed in Ford's Quality issue's so I bought a RAM Instead. Seems they all have one quirky thing or another so I bought the lifetime warranty with it. If I live to be 80 and the Ram is still running and on the road, I die a happy man.
@@scarhart53 WD-40 and a wrench
True asf I always wanted a f450 but I’m just scare that once I get one and things start to break so maybe a ram 3500 instead
Thank you for a real review I think all these newer trucks have problems of some sort
Love your channel! Thanks for the heads up.
And this is why you don’t spend $80,000 on a pickup truck 🤦🏼♂️
MGTOW skypirate I paid 96k for mine and it has paid its self already. I need it for work and that’s pretty much why they were made, to use them as a work horse.
MGTOW skypirate . Yes I understand what you mean. I also have several 7.3 and they are still more reliable than these new trucks but my problem with the 7.3’s is that the power is limited and I don’t feel comfortable towing 26k lbs with one of them. I’ve got a F550 7.3 with 70k original miles with a dump bed on it and it’s great but now I’m looking to get a new truck even though it’s really expensive but it will have the dump bed and I will also be able to pull a trailer with equipment on it. I mean if you can do your work with the 7.3s and gas trucks don’t ever buy a new one but in my case I have no option. They are overpriced but I can do anything about it, and they know that’s why they price them so high
Thanks. I will keep these issues in mind about this truck when my current GMC lease expires in September.
You got a Friday truck.
Haha. You're 100% correct! The date shows 11-22-19 which is the Friday before Thanksgiving! People were ready for vacation. We were laughing our asses off after we saw the date.
🤣😂☠️😂🤣
My brother in law just bought a new F250. They forgot to fill his transfer case with gear oil. So it detonated at 6,000 miles 🤣
@@hillbillyhippie597 BUILT FORD TOUGH!!!!!💪💩
@@hillbillyhippie597 no he didnt...youre shitting on the truck in every comment header and then "voila" your brother in law just happened to buy one and already put 6k miles on it and grenaded the transfer case? Yea,ok. I about bet I can find your name in Ram panty sniffer videos by searching the comments section. When your hatred or jealousy of something is so over the top a casual observer can see your activity tipping towards the irrational its time to take a step back and either go to your chosen Ram or stop postong this crap as you most likely dont own any of the stuff and are just a professional youtube spammer. 🙄🙄
So much for quality assurance!!! You have a way better attitude than I would have in regards to the discrepancy list...
What a super nice (large) man. You made some great points and hopefully your dealer fixed everything to your satisfaction.
I worked for the owner of multiple dealerships, he told me two things, never buy a brand new for two reasons, one, let someone else take the instant depreciation value and two always buy new as a leftover..his 80,000.00$ truck will be worth 50 next year if he’s lucky
I always by low mileage (under 10k) used. Can oftentimes find used cars at the dealership for a huge chunk off the sticker price it was new, used with only 1-2k miles on it. Silly to buy new.
Used is boring.
Damn I was thinking about buying the Tremor. .. Would be my first Ford since 2014. But I’m still keeping my 2017 Tundra it’s payed off and will make a great truck for my son when he’s of age. Great video 👍🏻
Some of these are legit, some are nitpicky. But for as much as these new trucks cost, Ford needs to make it right.
APGJuggernaut The “Rust” issue he’s claiming is total BS! It’s heavy grade thick steel ! It ain’t gonna rust out for the next 59 years!
@@roadglide1142 Agreed. I don't think he was complaining so much about the rust, but more so about that Ford didn't spraycoat the affected areas like they did on the 17. Either way its a non issue
UA-cam, great for people over worried for stuff then shouldn't be.
If I'm dropping that kind of scratch on a high dollar truck, it had better be perfect. The dealer knows this too but it's cash out of his pocket to correct the factory errors if you point them out. The dealer is just going to maximize his profits unless you call him on the issues. I worked on both of the Ford Milpitas lines (passenger, truck) and the Newark Peterbilt plant. This was a Friday end of shift truck.
@@KellanMeigh
ANYTHING that should have been done, or built by the factory costs the dealer exactly ZERO to repair, replace, or correct it!! Never has, and it never will.
I would call dealer error on not CATCHING this crap. (Not their fault because it came this way!! Only for not catching it!!)
It's a brand NEW truck! The dealer gets paid to get that truck up and ready to go. Usually one or two hours of labor time for their delivery "get ready". For things the makers misses or screws up, they pay the dealer extra.
45+ years selling what ever rolls. It's all the same. Take it back until it's RIGHT!! You PAID enough for it!!
Bought a 2019 Silverado 3500 duramax last year. I had the same issue with the steering wheel being off. Other than that the truck has been great.
I have a 2017 F350 dually XLT 4x4 with 73,500 miles and it tows 5 days a week with a 6500lb sliding axle trailer hauling 8-14,000lb on the deck and pulls it with no issues. Had that steering issue too the dealer installed a shim in the steering system and fixed the problem, only major issue was exhaust fumes was entering the cab so the all the turbo pipes, manifold gaskets were replaced under warranty, runs and smells good now. But overall has been solid for the abuse it takes on Northeast roads and off roads too. Definitely beats a class 5 and up truck in comfort and power for its size. I've been driving class A vehicles for 21 years and I'm impressed so far. For less than 50k it's been a economical choice for hauling and the maintenance is easier and cheaper. If your in a hauling business not only do I reccomend buying the maintenance package but the extended warranty. These aren't cheap if they break down. But for the money good job Ford👍
I have a ford truck. I found out what ford tough is. It far short of being like a rock. If ford has the heartbeat of America it would have to have a pacemaker. All I can say is it will make you a better mechanic. I told to guy who talked me into buying a ford I know him told me you will never wear it out, you replace all the parts to keep it new.
The reason ford is the best selling truck is because you have to replace it once a year. I have had 4 fords in my life and I had to have them all taken home on the back of a Chevy after I had to walk home or to a place of Business.
I also worked in a part supplier for all make all use the same material for the floor Systems. I program the robots to cut the floors for the work trucks, water jet. For the crew cab truck just the floor options is was 40 different cut, and for the super cab floor it was 30 different options and for the regular cab it was about 15 different options. From different electronics to transmissions holes that had to be cut out.
I was pretty convinced to get a 2020 F350 within the next couple weeks but looking at this build quality I have changed my mind
Watch enough videos on here and you won't buy anything.
@@NewDeereMan haha. True. I guess you take the bad with the bad
Friday before Thanksgiving truck lol, wouldn't wish this on such a loyal Ford customer though
Um...Friday BEFORE Thanksgiving? How about Wednesday before Thanksgiving?
my front driveshaft has surface rust like yours and mine pulled to the right, no quite as bad as yours pulled to the left. mine was only really noticeable over 50 mph, but just as annoying on the freeway. i took it back to the dealer 3 times before they said they they needed to order an alignment cam to actually give the truck an alignment. 1st was just air pressure change. 2nd they rotated the tires. 3rd was we need to order a part. 4th time it actually got fixed. drives straight now tho and the dealer was very nice, personally dropping me off and picking me after the first uber ride they got me. But i am less than 2 miles from the dealer.. as for the interior quirks, well i bought an XL. its not a daily for me and i like to be able to basically hose out my trucks. i will say its the nicest vinyl interior ive gotten in a fleet truck, and ive had other brand fleet trucks. very comfy just not all the extra creature comforts.. its got the basic ones tho, radio, back up cam and the app with remote start, gps track and all that stuff. looks like we are practically neighbors, thanks for shouting out the diesel shop in the area, when ever they do come oout with stuff for the obd3. i was in the monte vista business park but moved over to san dimas because the outside temps are typically just a bit cooler and the shops have high ceilings with a ceiling vent. i have a cnc shop so everything helps to keep the place cooler during the summer. anyway im very happy with the truck, power stroke, 10 speed, f250 4 door, long bed, 4x4 with the same leaf packs as the f350 in the rear, non dually.
Awesome vid guys
Glad I got a 2019, it's been flawless minus the rusting bolts underneath. lol
I have 2000 miles on my 2019 work truck. Already had to take it in for the fan clutch leaking oil.
Did you know that even though they were Rancho shocks they were made specifically for ford and not the full Rancho shocks that they would send you if it was an extra, according to Rancho last year
Great and honest quick review. I believe all vehicles are manufactured these way. We are going down a slippery slop quality goes down but prices go up, it’s all about the mighty dollar. As a Ford guy I say “Congrats on the new Truck” glad the dealer is taking care of you , they better for that amount of $$$ 😋
So happy I bought a 2017 in Sept. 2020. I keep hearing issues with 2019 and newer. I hit a small pothole last fall and it toed out my front passenger wheel making it pull a little. Was surprised how easily it shifted.
18' F-250 here. Death Wobble to death! 13k miles, about to "lemon law" this thing. So disappointing, good thing I held on to my 08' Toyota Tacoma 4x4.
Very disappointing. At 65,000 miles the 2017 F350 Dually has had the engine replaced, dash harness replaced, and yes also falls under the "lemon law" claims. Also going back to the dealer this week.
@@DirtComplex Think id be buying a different brand after your experience good video!
2019 f250 did it at 7500 miles. They tried to fix it 3 times and it got worse. Lemon law is useless. Ended up trading it at 9200 miles. Lemon law was not going to take into consideration all the times it had been in the shop, it had to start at the time they were made aware of a problem. We weren't going to keep it because it was going to cause a wreck. It nearly did multiple times. It's on the dealer lot and Carfax does not list all the issues or the amount of times it was actually in the shop.
Clint Stockton : that can’t be correct in regards to Lemon Law? I completed one several years ago. I followed the LW instructions that were included in the purchase paperwork. Was supposed to argue in front of company officials and got all my documents together. A week prior to meeting, got a call from company. They said they would give me my money back including any brand accessories purchased, check would be at dealer. I picked up cashier check two days later.
Get a Duramax if you need an HD truck
No insulation under my hood as well 2019 f250 also no rancho shocks either on my fx4
Wayneo vmax just at the dealership a month ago and the few 2020 f350s I saw didn’t have it either
I bought a 2019 F-350 Platinum DRW. I had one problem with that that was a recall. The tailgate kept opening and that was not good when towing my 5th wheel RV. No problems as you were showing (thank goodness). I was just under my F-350 to install an air horn (hooked up to an up-fitter switch) and did not see any rusting anywhere like on your 2020. I am glad you pointed out that the Toy-Yoda does not have anywhere near the towing capacity of the F-350. I would have preferred the F-450 for the steering radius, but one was not available in my area (other than white, sorry I do not like to drive around in a truck that looks like a washing machine) when I needed to purchase my Ford for towing my 5th wheeler. I do have a service advisory about the "death wobble" but no problems with that so far (knock on wood).
SPAM --- There is no rusting like they said on a virtually new ride. This is strictly anti-Ford bias & I'm so tired of ALL Company's doing this, though typically the best get hit the hardest :) Cheers
Quality control at its finest
Ive always been a GM guy and their quality has went down big time. Ive tried looking at fords and dodges but it seems like they are junk too.
Correct. I came from Europe and i have had garbage Chevys. Now im into a Ram 1500 for 70k 🤦🏻♂️ great on road but what a turd. Cant haul anything and its terrible in snow and offroad. Fords were shit in Europe they aren't getting my money here. They look like they were made for retarded people with their big plastic buttons.
Tundra
What with their plastic bumpers ?
I really expected better from Ford on the 350. If all the things you have already found (I count 9) I would worry about the small stuff, you know, engine, transmission, both front and rear ends. It probably created a problem as they sound like they were pressed for time on the delivery, but the off-center wheel should have been caught in dealer prep.
I am 6'6" and 300lbs and I have a Tundra crewmax and I fit. We are all built different though. So I feel your pain.
Sent mine back . Death wobble front driver side wheel. Driver seat frames faulty. Steering wheel was off after they did the repair. Broke my heart
This is what happens when you put too many electronics in a truck. We need to get back to 70s-90s trucks. Love my 2003. As many Buttons in that as I want.

@@user-pd9vm9ts1o Living the dream......I’ve made 6 figures this year on my stocks already. Keep up the great work.
Reminds me of several new Ford Trucks I've had including missing parts, misaligned steering. I bought a new F250 5.4L with HD Tow Package and it came with a E40D transmission rather than a 4R100. that gave out the first time I towed with it. Engine and cooling packages were standard rather than HD, it had the same windshield problem, Drip tray was left out of the moonroof causing water to pool in the foot wells. Ford did a buyback and I bought a Dodge Cummins and one week after delivery it was in the shop for nearly three months out of the first 5 months after delivery.
Just order 2020 F250 XLT Tremor last week. I am going to have the dealer put it up on the rack before I pay for it. I guess I will decide once I go through the truck whether I own it or turn it back. Currently have a 2008 F250 FX4 with the 6.4, very low miles ,44,000. The truck has been amazing-= knock on wood not one issue or warranty claim since new. I know many hate the 6.4 but it has been great and not one body or chassis issue on the truck.
Holy quality control Ford!!!
trust me working at a ford dealer that isnt bad compared to some of the stuff we have seen come in.
Too much pressure on quantity has negatively affected the quality.
This is old, but let's look at the numbers.
Ford produces around 2 million vehicles in North America and 6 million worldwide.
Toyota produces around 2 million vehicles in North America and 10 million worldwide.
Anywhere you go Toyota is known for better quality then Ford and GM (No need to mention FIAT-Chrysler, since it's FIAT, therefore garbage including the italian products).
Damn bro, they must have been on that Kentucky bourbon when they build your truck.
OMG, I can't even believe you are giving that truck a shout out. I wish Toyota would make a heavy duty via Hino or something, because I am nothing but happy with my Tundra. I have the seat that is on memory and it works EVERY time. It may not be that powerful or even updated, but it savagely works, I mean it is like the Terminator of trucks, it just doesn't stop. Best of luck, and please update on the follow ups.
Always loved my Superduty's , but I wouldn't be happy. That said , I got a new Chevy last year and you can't imagine the issues with the Chevy , LIVE AND LEARN ! Only 2200 miles on Chevy and most of the miles are going to dealer and back. The 5.3 does run good but I can't wait to unload this truck and get another Ford. I'm sure you're going to enjoy your truck. Good looker !
How did the windshield pass qc prior to installation? That's pretty bad. These issues causing my OCD to kick in and gonna make me look closer at the one I ordered. Will see 10 weeks when I get it.
The windshield was probably made by an outside supplier with limited or no quality checks.....When Ford wants cost cuts QC is usually the first to go. Not sure about Louisville Truck plant but the only humans to touch the windshield at KCAP was the line worker that glued the mirror mount to the glass and the ambient lighting wasn't good enough to see this defect. Been there done that.
32 year Ford retiree.
Ford really dropping the ball with quality control like for real.....
My dad owns a 2019 dually I wish him the best ..

I have built every hitch for all 9 ford trucks from a scrap metal on my first time truck when I was 17. I am now 50. My first diesel was an old Army blazer my dad bought me at the police auction. That was 1987. I kept it also. Over the years my skills have improved greatly. I build them out of square stock. In all 9 Ford trucks ive ownded all of them have pulled to right. My 2019 pulls to the right.

The driveshaft in my 2019 super duty isnt painted either. I did have a 2016 F150 with a million problems on delivery and that truck broke down constantly and always had problems. If its rolling off the line with all that stuff wrong with it someone didnt care, and in my experience worse stuff will start happening
That's the same story with his 2017. Lemon law and being returned after 65,000 miles.
My 2019 f350 front drive shaft isn’t painted as well an I don’t have any fome on my hood as well

I have to say I love Ford Trucks as well but GEEZ! These issues are very disappointing so I hope they hook it up right for you. Good Luck and great video.
I love heavy duty truck's with plastic transmission pans. They really saved weight there.
Big 3 truck quality is at an all time low rating of "Barely above total shit." Gave my '18 f150 back after major recall/problem #6.
His 2017 already got a new engine at 60,000 miles. He still loves his Fords though. That's ok. We all have our own reasons to love or hate a brand.
@@DirtComplex geez he already got a new engine? Thats not normal. Ive never had a problem with my 6.7's and a few of my buddys
@@michaelfrey1041 The high pressure fuel pump failed and shot metal shavings into the oil so they had replaced the entire engine. Idk which years the faulty fuel pump spans, but if it affects your year it should be replaced under recall.

My 2019 came with stock shocks on a fx4 set up
Ford made their own shocks and are using them instead of the Rancho shocks now
The marketing documentation says Rancho though... heading out now to inspect my 2019 F250 FX4...
Well that certainly was educational. I just bought a 2020 Ford Explorer Limited AWD. (AWD is just for light snow if I drive to the Sierra Mountains in CA during the winter, I do not expect the vehicle to be a hardcore 4x4). The reason it was educational, among other things, is that you pointed out some things to check that I did NOT check on my new Ford. I haven’t bought a Ford since my brand new 1986 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer red over tan. Remember those? I loved that truck. But it’s a relic compared to what is offered today, that’s for sure. Tomorrow morning when the sun’s out, I’m going to go inspect my Explorer. I have to say that the Sync 3 as you said is awesome. I don’t know if you saw it or not, but on the Explorer Platinum model, the Infotainment screen looks RIDICULOUS!!!! Not only that, but everyone (including me) asked my salesman the very first question of: “Um, please tell me that the Infotainment screen is not stuck/mounted in that position. It’s removable or it can rotate to landscape mode, right?”. Well everyone no knows that the answer is a big fat NO, the Platinum version of the Explorer (which is the most expensive trim line you can buy) has the ugliest, stupidest looking screen I’ve seen in any car or truck. I hated it so much that I said forget it--I can’t buy this thing and I won’t want to drive it, so forget it. The salesman was like, “But wait, wait, don’t leave! I’ll show you the Limited where it’s much nicer looking but does exactly the same things”. I’m like WHAT?? Sure enough, the Limited dashboard area looks very nice. I have the exact same screen that you see in this video as they’re driving around town. It’s 8 ½ inches instead of 10, and it’s in landscape mode instead of portrait. And mine has a really nice cubby below it to put your phone where it won’t move around because everything inside the Explorer has removable rubber bases for cleaning--I thought that was awesome. EVERY cubby, shelf, cup holder, etc, has these nice rubber bases that come right out and you can wash and dry them, and put them right back and look good as new. No more 2 year old coffee rings in all of my cup holders!
Anyway, I guess that’s all I got. Thanks again for the great video, you guys are very patient for paying that kind of money compared to the flaws it came with. I realize that “things happen”, but some of those items are pure quality-control items. That means people are clearly not doing their job, and I’ll bet some of them have their “medicine” (marijuana cookies) and take little nibbles during the day. “Hey Bob! You missed the last 5 trucks!”. Followed by; “Hah hah hah!!! I wonder what suckers will buy this crap??!”. I’m exaggerating I hope.
One thing since I’m here talking about Ford. If anyone is going to buy an Explorer, don’t be suckered into believing that just because the vehicle comes with backup collision avoidance (which means you hear a beep if something is moving behind you and to your sides as you back out of a parking space), that automatically means the car will brake when going backwards and prevent a collision. NO NO AND NO! The only Explorers that do that have a 4th switch near the ride selector knob that allows the vehicle to parallel park itself. It will also back you into a space if that’s what the sonar finds. You just work the brake and the car does almost everything else. BUT, if your Explorer does not have the automatic parking feature, then you DO NOT have automatic backup braking. That shocked the hell out of me because the car has automatic everything else on it. It has Ford’s new Co-Pilot Plus (optional) which is pretty darn cool, it will drive the car for you for a few seconds in case you get distracted and it does a really great job of doing it. Very impressed with that. It also has fully automatic cruise control with full stop. That means if you’re in stop and go traffic on the freeway, you can set the cruise control and it will keep a safe distance away from the car in front of you, and it will also handle all of the braking-100% of it. You don’t have to touch either pedal. Once you stop, the system is still engaged and when cars start moving again, so does your car. It’s really cool. My Infiniti QX60 had that, but not nearly as precise as this and the Infiniti shut down when you came to a stop. Speaking of shut down, the new EcoBoost engine that comes on the Limited is a 300 HP (310 lb ft of torque) 4 banger with twin turbo. I’m in my 50s, so I really don’t care about having a V-12 super engine that gets me to Mars and back in 3 seconds. You younger guys can go have fun with the bigger 450 HP engine on the ST if you want. I’m plenty happy with 300 horses, especially since the car I just got rid of (the Infiniti I mentioned earlier) only had 265 HP and could only tow 3,500 pounds! (The Nissan equivalent to the QX60 is the Nissan Pathfinder. It has always had 5,000 pound capacity towing, even though the cars are identical as far as engine, frame, tranny, etc). I think the reason the QX could only take 1,500 less than its clone is because the QX had lots of heavy (weight) options on it. Sound insulation, more computers, more “stuff” that the Pathfinder doesn’t have, etc. Just my guess though.
Thanks for letting me blab on your page. And again, I thank you for teaching me new things to look for on a new car or truck. Take care guys.
Wow I have to say that's the longest comment I've read on our video so far! I read all of it and congratulations on your new Explorer! I think those are real nice looking! Big screens is what everyone's doing now, the f150 and super duties should be getting 10" screens pretty soon. We read every comment and can't respond to them all, but we had to come here and say thank you for watching our video! Have fun in your new Explorer.
I think someone from chevy snuck in and sprayed parts on the bottom with rust colored paint. I can say I'm a ford owner since 2014. I converted from chevy I drove them for 15 years got my first ford when I was 31 years old. I live in genesee county michigan and that's the real chevy truck town. I get si much crap from people from having an EcoBoost and I've smoked 3 silverados rear u joints in tug of war and I still have my original u joint. My only complaint on my truck it has a v6 and every truck I own has a flowmaster on it dont want my American truck to sound like a tuner car. With 150000 miles on it the only thing I took it in for was a bad gapped plug from a tune up I did. My truck will be paid off in 2021 so i plan on getting a diesel or the new 7.3 gas. Nice video

All makers can have a turd leave the bowl.. I've had Fords since'73 and have yet to get a lemon... But our family has had a few GMs that should never have left the plant either... Chit happens..
Yup that's Ford guys for you🤷😂
@@samduran5180 And yep - that's GM guys for you... :)
It’s how it rolls of the assembly line just like fender guitars you’ll get one that’s amazing and then one with a warped neck and weak pickups
I’ll share my experience. Always a Ram guy. Bought a 19 350 powerstroke. Tons of issues with the electronics and the 7pin connector in the back. It’d fill up with snow and ice and I’d have to constantly clean it out. My trailer didn’t work right with it either. The dealer told me my trailer isn’t compatible. I told them it worked fine with a Ram and works fine with a Chevy! The ford dealers I worked with were useless. Most dealers were a month out for service appointments too. I got fed up and went back to a Ram....2019 3500. One thing I will say is that I really enjoyed driving the ford. Super fun truck to drive.
Enjoyed driving it back and forth to the repair shop??.. ok yeah
@@ramtrucks721 Back in a Ram now.
Wayyyyyy too many problems with that truck for them to fix. They need to get you a completely different truck.
They won't GIVE you a new truck! Laugh!!
They FIX your problems, not GIVE you replacements!
Hence the lemon laws. Three chances to FIX it..then it goes to arbatration! They decide IF Ford HAS to replace it or not. It doesn't get replaced very often.
In 45 years in the business I saw maybe a dozen get replaced, out of the thousands of vehicles I have seen sold at different dealerships. That's not many! But each one took well over a year to get through arbatration. It's easier to get a used car replaced than a new one, by a ton!!
Remember, the dealer didn't BUILD it..they just sold it to you. They DO all they can to repair it...but if you want a new one, you deal with the Factory over that! Some really TRY to make it right, IF you go at it in a NICE way. If you try to be a dick about it..your screwed!
Hire a lawyer, because Ford has hundreds of them they pay if they use them or not!
So..play nice, it WILL work out better for YOU in the long run!!
Gary Heaton 😯 wow, I really appreciate you taking time to give a solid answer and I will remember this if I’m ever stuck in this situation.
Quality is job one, yea right
Harry and AJ are good dudes that make great content and great products like the Trailswing.
Damn I’m surprised at how many issues you had. I’ll be examining my next new car purchase very closely. Luckily my truck had no issues. Only a tiny bit warped part on the tailgate. The handle seemed to be slanted a tiny bit. But everything else good
Bought a brand new Toyota TRD Pro and my steering wheel sits just like yours. Drives me nuts.
Ci d
Straightening you steering wheel is a very simple thing to correct yourself. Loosen the two nuts on the drag link, give the split collar a little twist in the right direction then retighten the two nuts and you are done. I can’t believe how so many “Men” complain about something so easy to fix. “Bothered me for years” it’s a 10 minute fix!
Those Tacoma’s are built in Mexico. Not surprised
Zahar Kulgavyy sequoia.
I would feel like dying after spending that and having problems like that too give it back to them!!!!!! But besides all the issues. Wishing that truck was mine to have problems with love them fords
Considering how much Ford charges for their new models, you would think that quality control would be better. Those rusted washers look they were taken from Home Depot and slapped on because they ran out of that particular part on the assembly line. I like my 2014 Mustang because the issues had been worked out by then, it has been completely reliable; while built with corners cut (like the interior), the lower price actually reflected that fact. Kia/Hyundai are value leaders and have fairly good reliability overall (I realize they don't sell actual trucks in North America).
Same. I’d never spend that much to begin with. XLT sport F-150 is probably the highest I’d go new, and maybe a used Lariat at most. Over 40k I’m stressing, over 50k is automatic no.
GREAT VIDEO 👍👍
GREAT INFO 👍👍
That's better than expected quality for a truck made in America.
Man I put 450k miles on my 2011 F350!! I feel like you may have gotten a California truck. I bet a Liberal built it!!!😂😂
Liberals put in the emission shiz that destroys the vehicle at half the lifespan it’s supposed to have.
Effin Heavy LoL
100% correct
If it was built in Kentucky it definitely was built by a care less Republican! Just like the junk rvs built in Indiana!
Greg Vickery Care Less....That is funny! I just know that liberals ruin EVERYTHING!!!! Name me 1 Liberal run state YOU can’t wait to live in? Examples: California/ San Francisco: human feces on the sidewalks and the nations highest homeless-population. Illinois/ Chicago- Highest murder rate in the nation, not to mention the strictest gun laws! New York, need I say more. I’ll take my Ford Truck built in Care Less Kentucky Thank You!!
I heard that Rancho shocks were giving out so Ford went with there own design.
Regardless of what you "heard" they werrnt ever rancho shocks so even if that was true it wouldnt effect this as they are ford shocks. The pn on them is a ford pn. Rancho supplies the stickers. Maybe. Those shocks were always junk. Every oem shock is junk. They work for a few months then its time to upgrade anyway.
@@BigTyronie Why would Rancho put their reputation on the line over a sticker. There is probably more to the story than that. OR a different story all together.
@@paulrodrigues9603 why does there have to be a big story? Ford gives rancho money to say they use a rancho shock. Its common for one business to use anothers name by paying a licensing fee. And yes if you call rancho and give them the PN they will have no idea what it is.
@@BigTyronie Ford don't have time to make shocks. I'm sure they are sourced through Rancho (whether Rancho makes them or not.) Every part on a Ford needs a Ford # for control. Mine say Tenneco but have a Ford part#.
@@paulrodrigues9603 why are you arguing this when you "heard" rancho had trouble, which i in fact did not hear , and the only point made was that they arent Rancho shocks. Because they are NOT. I even explained how you can double check that claim. How do you think this conclusion was arrived at? By hearsay like you said you do? Nope. Since 2003 the fx4 was had with "rancho" shocks. Dont you think someone has tried to source or replace these and was told "we dont make those shocks"? They dont and never did. They are ford shocks with a sticker on them. Buying the crappiest rancho shock they sell and putting it on would be a net improvement.
Im a ford guy for sure, I needed the power of the f350, went and got a price, luckily I have my class 1 so I bought a Peterbilt gravel truck for a price I could understand, but that king ranch was a beauty.
I hope Ford takes care of everything, they should. My wife had 3 Expeditions, the last one, they would not take care of several issues. But good luck!
“Pretty rusty”...guess you’ve never been to New England
TC93 its a new truck??
Doesn’t matter he owned the thing for a week. It shouldn’t have any rust on it.
fpineros22 Patina? HAH HAH!!! You sound like that Pawn Stars kid who will say anything to make the value of something go up or down, depending on what he wants the outcome to be.
Oops, my above comment about patina was for Brett Dawson. Sorry ‘bout that!
I had to replace my starter after 15 years and 190k.
And you can tow an outhouse behind it because it's so heavy duty right? What a maroon!
Aldo D the irony in your comment...is “moron” what you were looking for?
I saw a documentary once on car companies, and the only QC at the end of the line is whether it runs or not. EVERYTHING else on a new vehicle is taken care of at the dealer, and its up to the buyer to discover the faults.
I have a 2017 Ford F-350 king ranch. I love it. Very nice truck
Ford needs to bring back the MANUAL SHIFT ON THE FLOOR FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSYEM. Not everyone like the electric shift on the fly.
If you buy a lower end model or chassis cab, you can get that as an option.
And get rid of the vacuum hub system. Mine had issues starting a 2k miles. Junk.
Not anymore it was deleted in all 2020 model super duty trucks.
Yes it is. I've never had an issue with any of mine manual shift from my 79 f150 to my 2012 f450 dually. Not one time have I've ever had a problem shifting them or out of four wheel drive.
That's dumb! I guess it's cheaper because you don't have to put a hole in the floor of the truck. 😒
Problem is you for buying a ford
Bought a 70k 2020 Ford Expedition Platinum 4x4 w/ 9300lb tow pkg a few weeks ago. The expedition is based on the F-150 frame- minimal issues during the first 1100 miles, but I really haven't inspected much underneath yet.... now, I'm wondering what QA issues I might find...
Weird, my 2020 and my brothers are just fine. We have the skid plate and the hood cover. No broken things, no rust and we live in Alaska. We have ours for 1 year as of 4 days ago. No issues and I have put 36,000 miles on my truck already.
More money less truck
This is a LEMON!!! It is your fault if you keep it...
For the $$$ you are spending with Ford. They owe you a QUALITY built product...
Or is that just a BS line they sell all of us
My father always said to wait till year 2 of any new model. Because if they had to retool or there was any redesign they will screw it up at the factory in the beginning. I am like him I am 6'4" tall mostly torso I don't fit in squat besides full size American trucks. Ford I feel the most comfortable in.
The steering wheel and glove box problems should have been addressed on the new vehicle prep. But, I guess they were in a hurry to get it out the door on Christmas eve.
As a matter of fact, I worked at an RV dealership whose unofficial shop motto was "hurry up and get it out the door no matter how many times it has to come back".
Leave the Toyota sign in the glove box
Put it in the window!
Where's the quality control?
Ford never had it. They have been hit or miss for years but now more miss. Seen it so many times. Overpriced crap
My 2019 F150 had problems too right off the bat. Sync 3 touchscreen freezes maybe once per month, hot or cold temp doesn’t matter. Household outlet doesn’t work at all. Transmission hunts for gears all the time shakes the whole truck, not sure if it’s a flaw in mine or just a terrible transmission
My 2007 F259 diesel didn't have the hood insulation. I kept it off my 04 and put it on the new one.
That is a darn shame to expect crap when you buy an $80K vehicle
It’s in the name that you shouldn’t buy a FORD.

Your dash problems are common on their trucks. Their plant burnt down back in 18, so they went elsewhere for their dash’s on all trucks. My 2018 Ford F-150 had a bow or a hump in it! Lots of the trucks had that issue among other things , like glove boxes not opening and stow away compartments would slide open or open at all.
Driving through upland California, right by my work. I was like hold up lol didnt see the cement mixer trucks on central Avenue lol.
What about them
@Tim W concrete would be the finished product, so cement would be the portlant additive that gets added to the aggregate. I rebuild those truck in the area.
80 grand and those kind of quality issues?
It was made the Friday before Thanksgiving lol
Its a ford what did you expect?
@@resqjason2 nope, made on Friday before Thanksgiving

@@Nikkk6969 yeah.. i hope they get fired
After many years with fleet work on f550s and 5500 trucks I've found that repair and long term operating costs are less on our 5500 rams . I am not a fanboy of any brand , as a mechanic they all suck.
I had my windows tinted in my 2021 tremor, and noticed the wavy look and thought it was the fresh tint. I guess I need to check it again after seeing this.
Ya, I'm wondering, ... How many strings are attached when you become a puppet ? ;)
The FX4 package hasn’t used “Rancho” shocks for at least a year or two. All they were was a junk Ford shock with a Rancho label. I took them off my ‘17 F350 at a year and 5K miles and I could compress them by hand. I replaced them with Bilstein’s and the ride is much better!
That’s weird I bought my 2020 f350 I got the platinum everything on it and did the same things and had nun of the same issues
Thats what that extra$$$$ gets you
They sell more cause more die. Other bramds last longer so no need to buy another 😆😆😆
@BH Paradox yeah I don't go off of magazine's, just real life experiences. My 2 buddys are diesel mechanics because of Ford's. They love fords, keeps them in business. Looks like a powerstroke graveyard lol
@BH Paradox yeah that was the last motor ford had that was excellent. I'm looking at a 2000 workbody 7.3 in good shape. And have a 2012 lml duramax. Both of these trucks have the fewest amount of problems. 6.0 &6.4 just destroyed their rep. Duramax 6.6 just had minor issues that they fixed then improved everything else. Even the cp4 issue isn't as common as people say. Unless you don't change your filters or run tunes that drain your fuelrail.... Just my 2cents
BH Paradox Dodge is far better than Ford, in my personal experience. I’ve had 3 F150s as i thought that 3rd time wouldve been a charm with them but i was horribly wrong. I had a 2012 F150, 2015, and then lastly a 2017 and they all had so many issues and couldn’t of been happier to trade them in. I have a 2013 RAM that i’ve had since 2013 and she has absolutely 0 issues, and she is VERY reliable.
Keep running old trucks. New ones are not good lol
David Dancer so the "old trucks" didn't have problems when they were new??? ALL of the manufactures have ALWAYS had service department. ALL of them have been full of their product. (GM, Ford, Dodge)
I feel your pain about not fitting in trucks. I'm 6' 7" and I have to get trucks without moonroof so I keep the headroom
look closely at your rancho shocks on your 17.. they should say motorcraft on em somewhere.. its actually a repainted ford shock with a rancho sticker... upgrade to the rancho 9000 shocks on both trucks anyway... you'll love em...
