Fantastic to see a WRC driver showing great skill in a car that us mere mortals can relate to. Great driving and no doubt some superb pace notes being called. Would have been nice to hear them but impressive all the same.
Whilst these drivers are off the scale with skill and courage, it never ceases to amaze me how skilled and accurate the co-drivers are. Always the unsung hero. How do they do it? This is incredible team work. Thank you for the footage.

What impresses me about Thierry's driving (or any other top-level rally driver for that matter) is that it seems so calm and controlled despite everything else.

His driving style is smooth , beautiful and hence fast. he is not throwing around car alot , just enough sideways in tight turns to rotate the car not too much so that he loses forward momentum.

It's most likely a dog-box, you just don't really need a clutch for anything other than starts. It makes shifting a lot faster as they don't have synchros and he can keep is left foot on the brake. You rev-match in the short period when you're in neutral between the gears and then slam the gear in, for upshifts all you need is a quick lift of the throttle to disengage the gear.

@@drazenbudis7881 540° steering wheel angle was missing too back in the day and thierry use it on this m3 for what I can notice.. So is not purely an original gr.A spec but who cares.. I actually prefer this quick steering rather than the original.

I think that's the only effective way to be fast. Unnecessary and very big slides make you slower.
