Amazing Video like it very much, thank you for sharing. did you get some problems with this gimbal? because lots of negative videos on youtube about this gimbal if search "Zhiyun Crane 2 problem" I'm thinking to buy this gimbal to gh5+olympus lens and hope not to be wrong with this gimbal
Thanks for the comment and feedback! I haven't had any problems really with my Crane, it's the 1.2 and not the 2. I'll be doing videos of the Crane 2 when they send it to me so stay tuned!
I have a glidecam and it takes me less than a minute to balance. I dont know where you came up with it taking days. The crane is way more complicated with the camera falling around. But once you do it a few times its not too bad. I will say after operating a glidecam for years these cranes are superior and just about anyone can use one. It takes skill to opperate a steadycam but this thing is the Rolls Royce of steady motion for a similar price point. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the video. I just switch and needed help balancing.
Jordan Zale Thanks for your comment. There are definitely pros and cons between glidecam and gimbals. One thing that’s for sure is you have 100% control with the glidecam and there’s just that touch in your fly shots you can’t achieve with a gimbal. As for it taking days to balance, bit of an exaggeration, but it is much more difficult to balance a glidecam vs a gimbal.
I stopped watching and will look for an other video to help me balance the Crane, English is not my native language and than the music is just to distracting :(
Such a great video! Thank you. I've watched a couple of videos now and yours helped the most. Clear and informative. Showing us what shouldn't happen and how to fix it was super useful. Thank you, thank you.
So there are only 3 modes right? Mode1: Left, right,up,down controlled by dial. Mode2: Up/Down by dial and left/right with arm Mode3: Selfie mode I thought i got one that was broken when mine only had those 2 modes. And then you just taught me about the selfie mode. Nice video. Bit long but helpful. Different style of how I've seen it balanced for the pitch or whatever the bottom is called.
Good informative video! Helped me out quite a bit! However, that music is really overpowering and distracting, as what I need is to concentrate on your voice. Still keep it up!
Yo, I believe I balance my Zhiyun crane v2 but when I try to make it still to a side/ tilt to left or right it goes back to its original base. Is that balance or am I doing something wrong? I have a7s ii with MC-11 adapter nd Simga 35mm F1.4
Hi great video. Very informative, Im getting the crane 2 in a few days. Do you think I should get the dual handle? I thought it would just tire my hands out more but do you think it would be better in getting smother and more stable shots? Also I saw reviews of people complaining about the camera having a slow up and down bobbing movements even when it was balanced so im a little scared about that. do you think that was because of a defaulty crane or bad set up or is this a problem with the crane 2?
Thanks for your comment. The dual handle will absolutely help in getting more stable shots. Not that you can't get stable shots without it, but it can get tiring quickly, which will affect your shots. One thing about the dual handle is that it's a pain to bring around everywhere with you and it also makes your setup much bigger. Zhiyun came out with the Transmount Mini Dual Grip specially for the Crane 2. I just received mine and will be doing a video about it soon. So if you can wait, maybe the Mini Dual Grip would serve you better. Stay tuned! As far as people complaining about the camera having slow axis movements, you can adjust the speed of these motors. You just need to plug your Crane to your computer and download the latest firmware. However, it's better to have slower movements anyways for more cinematic shots. Hope this helped!
hey I simply love the "LA future hip hop" and flylo but playing such a loop too loud for 17:25 is a bit of a nightmare .. otherwise the vid is pretty informative!
Nice info shared thank u sir. I got mine v2. Balanced it on all three axis with my Nikon d5300 dslr camera n smaller lense. As u said when I powered it on blue light started blinking. But no motion by motors which usually occurs on power on. M still in contact with vendor. But still not resoved. Would u pls suggest what or how can I check if any thing is wrong or not.
If the gimbal is powered on but no motion or response from the motors, it is likely damaged. This was the case with my Crane v1 and I had to send it back to replace. Good luck!
Under the Spotlight hello sir. I am a music composer. I will be previllaged if you use my musics mainly instrumentals in ur videos. Pls check out links.
My problem is with it staying in position like you. It keeps rolling back to center. If I tilt it forward or back it corrects to center. Side to side it corrects to center. It doesn't stay in that tilt position. That's where I'm oddly having trouble :/
@@MonroesArtStudio tilt Axis never stays balanced. İ can not make it look to top or bottom and stay balanced. İs it because my setup is too light? 500-600gr but there is no problem when i run the gimbal it works normally
@momentum productions has a video I watched on stabilizing the crane. I cannot link it, but it's still up from what I just verified. It's called : How to BALANCE A Gimbal - Zhiyun Crane V2
11:00 you say if its tilting forward or backward adjust the slide but you are showing yours on a tilted angle saying "there we go" which is it. tilt or not?
I was wondering if you power it up while the handle is facing up (for low to the ground shots) if the crane orients itself that way or if that can cause damage? Thanks for the video, super informative :)
Good question. I'm not actually sure if it damages it. I've always just powered it on in the normal upright position. I have powered it off in the reverse position with handle up and has never had issues.
9:19 the problem is with that setup, if you now try to tilt it left (moving your grip hand horizontally to the right) the zhiyun horizontal arm is going to hit the top of the vertical pole. I hope i made myself clear on this matter ;)
I balance the camera in the center but I can't seem to get the camera to stay when I move it, it always goes back in the center. I adjusted the adjustments to the extreme already, what am I doing wrong?
There's a lot of variables that affect where and how to adjust. Your setup plays a big role, especially lens. Depending on which axis you're moving the camera and having it moving back to center. If on the tilt axis, then you know you'll need to adjust the tilt axis. You would need to make very very micro adjustments, where you might not even think it would make a difference but every tiny adjustments, make a difference. Just keep at it and you'll get it
Thanks for the video! So what did you do after the motor went out on your v1? My v2 worked for one wedding but then I charged the batteries and it wouldn't even turn on after that. :( I wonder if I didn't balance it well enough?? I'm emailing back and fourth with Zhiyun but I'm not sure what will come of it.
Thanks, I got my quick release from Amazon similar to this one: amzn.to/2I9np15. But I'd recommend getting a quick release plate that you have across all your equipment like your tripod, monopod, etc so that you can mount your camera on everything on the fly. The most common type of quick release is probably the Manfrotto compatible ones like this: amzn.to/2I99oQP
Don't think so. They look the same size but are slightly different. But the batteries that come with the crane should be sufficient being that it can last at least 6 hrs of continuous use. So that doesn't count each time you power it down. Your camera will die before the Crane so I wouldn't be too concerned about having spares.
Honestly, I didn't bother getting anything fancy. I just got a generic quick release plate on Amazon and since it was so inexpensive, I bought multiple. That way my cameras can easily snap into the Crane and tripods quickly. Links in my description. Good luck and thanks!
The M is smaller, lighter, and takes a lighter payload. It's ideal for smaller and lighter cameras. You can use it with a Sony mirrorless like the A6000/6300/6500, however you're inching closer towards the max payload, which can affect your battery life and probably overall motor life expectancy. The M's motors are smaller and will be working harder for a payload close to its max.
Maybe consider redoing this video with better audio and no background music. The music volume seems louder than your mic, so really hard to hear you. For that, I had to thumb down, sorry

troy X not sure what you mean by that. Can you elaborate

i would assume so...as long as you can find the center of gravity, which thankfully isn't too hard to do on these gimbals
