  • Welcome to the GuysWithRides.com UA-cam Channel, where Rudy does dumb things in his garage so you don't!
This video is the first part of a three-part series where Rudy replaces the badly leaking steering rack in Project Risky Business, our $4,000 1985 Porsche 928S Barn Find.
While this video covers 1985 Porsche 928 models, the process is likely similar for all other 1978-1994 versions.

This was an amazing guide. Inspired me to do it this year

Impeccable timing, I just got done sinking countless hours into my '79 to get it going (and replacing both power steering hoses in the process) only to find a pool of ATF under the passenger tie rod after my first drive. This looks a lot less trouble than I thought, thank you!

Sorry I've been slow to do the installation of the rebuilt unit. Hopefully, I'll get to it very soon!

@@GuysWithRides1 Following up on this, I finally got around to ordering my new steering rack and pump. This video was invaluable in giving me the confidence to pull it all apart - took under an hour! I got my new rack from Roger too, did you have to order new stops for the rack ends or did you just use what you had? Mine are gone. Are you going to upload the follow up video? Thanks!
