  • This video shows a very full double deep 8 frame that would begin the swarming process soon if we didn't give them some space. We also show a few other tips as what to do with the full frames you pull out. Enjoy !

They do look calm on the comb and good tempered.

Can you make a short video showing what hive is considered small in honey bees and what would you consider is a large size that should be split ?

Does it matter what area of the yard i place our hives. Im in Canada. Summer is around 80s F during the day and evenings around 67 degrees F. Our winters get down to -6 celcius with windchill factor of -19 . I have a garage in the south end of the yard which gives some shade .

Watch the entrance. Bees fly straight out and come straight in for the most part. Pointing it toward your patio or doors to your house would not be the best. We have ours about 40 yards from our house with no problems. Actually my wife garden's right infront of the hive stands. About 200 hives within 20-30' of her. She works in shorts and a tanktop

@@honyokhoneybees8116 before i bought our hive i researched what i could and everything was telling me to put the hive door facing south sun. I see now some people are not doing this . What is your thought ?

We face them every direction. I don't care to face them west because most of our rain comes from the west. I do put a 3/4" board under the back of the hive to raise it a bit. Any water that gets in or spills drains out the front

Near Effingham IL. May have some for sale in a week or two. Letting the first mated queens lay a little while to check them. Thanks for watching!
