This video was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! It was getting a bit late yesterday trying to cage my unmarked queen & they were getting feisty so I’ll try again today. Even though I know bees stings aren’t that bad, I still can’t do it without gloves. You made that look so easy!
Have you tried a queen pipe? It captures the attendees as well and doesn't disturb them or risk broken legs or damage. I have one.

I have friends logging with horses around Ephiginham I'll. They have 2 hives they ran into when cutting trees. If you would want the hives you would be welcome to them. If you need more information just reply with your email and I'll put you in contact with them.
Hello, i am a beginner beekeeper from the Netherlands. Is there no other way to put the bees in that cage? I am just to nervous to do it like that....
There are other ways but we feel this is the best. We were nervous at first and even taped our fingers with electric tape. But now it's no big deal. Just make sure your fingers aren't sticky when you pick a queen up by her wings. The workers go in head first. I haven't been stung in a couple years doing this. Just jump in and do it. It gets so easy after some practice.
