    I gave up on mine and got an Anne Pro 2. It's so much better but I decided to give my G Pro X one more chance. I installed Kailh Silver Speed Switches, trimmed the stabilizers, installed some dampening foam and it sounds way better now. I'm planning to lube the stabilizers once it comes in the mail but I'm also planning to replace the stabilizer housing with a proper one and reuse the stock stabilizer from the G Pro X (not sure it will turn out great though)
    I'm curious where this will take me, I'm hoping to make it more decent at least. It's my first decent mechanical keyboard but I agree with you, had anyone told me I should have bought the Anne Pro 2 back then lol

    Hi ! I have the G Pro keyboard with the GX Switches, like yours. Unfortunately, the switches aren't hot swappable. Great video and thank you in advance.

    • @mr.ethings1545
      @mr.ethings1545  3 роки тому +4

      Hi! The original G Pro key board is not hot swappable. They are also a different design from MX switches so they don't open up the same.
      You could try using a small brush to lube the stem of the switches from the top but I can't guarantee it would damage the switch or the LED in the middle of the GX switch. I would not recommend the G Pro if looking to get into customizing keyboards.

      The keychron K6 that I suggested in the video is a good one since you can remove the switches as well to mod! But the best compact layout to easily switch keycaps would be a TKL style board, since they usually have standard sized key so most keycap sets will fit.
      WIthout going for a custom board the best cheaper option would be the keychron or building a tofu board. for the same price as the Logitech you could get a Leopold Keyboard. They are not hotswap or bluetooth as well but they are pretty close to feeling custom right out of the box.

    Board sounds terrible. I actually preferred the sound of the switches pre-lube, but the stabs are a million times better after lube.

      I actually agree haha, I made this video because I wish someone had told me to go out and buy something else instead of the G Pro X hahah

    i had the logitech g pro x for a year and its a great keyboard but i dont think its worth is price and the gx switches are overpriced so i bough some gateron red switches for it wich is better and way cheaper at 20$ instead of 80$

      Totally agree, the board is wayyy over priced! When i first started getting into peripherals I only really looked the big name brands like logitech, Razer, and Corsair but when you start looking into the more enthusiast market there are much better things out there. Many of them more expensive but also some hidden gems that arent so pricy!!

      Hello! There are 2 versions of this keyboard. The G Pro keyboard doesnt not have removable switches. The G Pro X is the version with removable switches. I hope that helps!

      hahha why are you yelling at me :( TBH i didnt like the board anyways, was thinking about swapping the switches to linear (it only comes with clicky switches) but I didnt want to invest anymore into the board as I knew already I was going to sell it. So this was more of an experiment. Even with the perfect switches, the board itself (case) doesn't sound good.

    lubing the springs for what? do they touch anything to make noise? thats the most useless stuff ive ever seen.

    • @mr.ethings1545
      @mr.ethings1545  Рік тому

      It kind of suppresses the vibrations in the springs. Could be a placebo effect though hahah
