The girls aren't plants - they're real people from the audience, notice how their hands quiver out of nervousness of being on stage. The real trick happens when he has them count the cards in his hand - he then palms 3 cards on the first girls deck and hands it over to her and asks her to hide it. He does the same with the second girl, only this time removing 3 cards before he hands it back for her to hide. Lastly, the guy in the middle is asked to pick a seemingly random card, but he's really fanning the deck in a way that pushes the 3 card into his hand. As the guy reaches deeper into the deck, he pulls away and distracts him with small talk. The second attempt is intentionally made to look like a mistake - it's meant to put pressure on the guy to just quickly pick a card - and when he fans the card the third time, the guy takes the card being pushed towards him subconsciously not realizing that he's just trying to remove the spotlight from himself. Great magician - it uses psychology and sleight of hand to create pressure on the audience member.

@@ieatgrass6984 No. Rick is right. If you pause the video at the exact time. You can see he adds 3 cards to one girls pile. I think magic tricks are more magical if there's a story. If you saw someone in half and finish in 3 seconds, it's kind of boring. Just like when I finish with my girlfriend in 3 seconds. I'm just kidding, that never happens. I need a girlfriend before it can happen.
It's called presentation. No one wants to see him stand up there and hammer put trick after trick, that's what uncles are for at kids birthday parties.
Great version of -- I think it's called "Cards Across," another classic where the main point is now the performance. Chris has a lot of potential branching dialogue/jokes in this patter, and he follows it smoothly from step to step. I've seen this done seriously/mystically, I've seen it done with cheese slices for sheer schtick, but I have to say I like this "just naughty enough to play anywhere" the best so far. He gives it that nudge-nudge wink-wink treatment that makes it a little vaudeville for the grownups without tipping over into crass. That's a fine line to script for.
All 'magic' acts are about the performance. Many performers choose a persona like this one. Some the dramatic wizard, who rarely speaks or doesn't speak at all, some the clumsy clown. The trick is all about misdirection, timing, and pleasing the audience. They are there to be entertained. His performance is truly outstanding . He knows well how to steal and direct your attention to his liking while he cheats you (2:11 the +3 cards can be seen in his right hand and then added with the initial 10 cards in his left) . Nicely done sir ✔
@@kafridon OK, but then how did he force Brett to take a three? He had a deck of 32 random cards, which might conceivably have not had any threes in it at all. How could he insure that the random guy in the audience would choose a three?
Initially he attempted 2 times to force him the card number 3 but he failed . He covered it by telling a joke , diverting the audience's attention somewhere else . On his 3rd attempt he made card number 3 more ''reachable'' and easier to grab and with a bit of luck , he made it . I bet that even if Brett would have chosen the wrong card the 3rd time , he would have come up with something else ( a joke , small act etc ) and then try again and again .
He reminds me of the Amazing Johnathon in his joke delivery. I'm a big fan of comedy and magic mixed together which is why I usually watch guys like them and Penn and Teller over the more showmen magicians. I need to look up more of his stuff.
This is the second video (by this guy) I watch. While it IS possible to see the trick if you watch the video a couple of times knowing the outcome, the showmanship is awesome. Great presence, quick wit and above all, perfect misdirection. Those tricks are meant for live audiences, with no benefit or replay. Great, just great!
It's nice seeing what happens in stage magic when you whiff the CF lol. As an amateur magician, I always admired those that had the balls to do it in front of people.(if i fail i do another trick) I also admire how you can use such a simple concept, and craft some true entertainment around it with humor and showmanship. (I re-watched it....I learned why you did what you did.)
Timing is everything. He didn't describe the plot before he did the magic. That way no one will suspect he did anything to those stacks. By the time people know the plot, there is nothing left to see.
Of course you can see it when you can look for it, but in real time, even on a recording, 99% of people missed it the first time. He’s got talent...and adult humor. Everyone’s cool with any mainstream comedian that says anything controversial...unless it’s about trump...then it’s “You don’t like it, get outta my cOuNtRy!”
For all those they give a thumbs down- You have no sense of humour, charisma or the ability to give credit to a great a performance with a cool slight of hand magic. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. This guy is really good and full of banter
@3:22 if you go on 0.25 speed and check his hand, you can see how he split the cards and took a few out with his left hand. However, the Trick only works if you know exactly how many cards they need to end up with, so the guy HAD to pick a 3.
Three separate parts to the trick: 1. Bring 3 palmed cards in his right hand and add them to the ten counted out by Meghan (2:11) 2. Cut 3 cards from the ten counted out by Farah and palm them behind with his left hand (3:21-3:23) 3. Manipulate the cards so that Barret gets a 3. The rest of the patter puts these together. Meghan counted out ten cards and Mr. Hannibal added three more, so she put away 13. Farah counted out ten cards and he took away 3, so she put away 7. I suspect the hardest part is getting Barret to choose a 3. Great illusion, well-done presentation.
That def was the smoothest of the 3. I recommend everyone learns a 1 handed cut. Its super easy and you can teach yourself in 5 mins. might wanna use your non dominate hand
This just goes to show you... even the most basic trick, in the hands of a skilled entertainer, becomes a joy. You can watch this act, spot exactly what he's doing all the way through... and just not care XD I don't know about my favourite trick. But Chris just made my favourite magician list!
3:22 His left middle finger is placed marking three cards on the bottom. When he switches the cards to his right hand to give the cards to the woman on the right, he only picks up 7. Same thing with the other woman except he takes 3 cards from his pocket as she counts and proceeds to place them in the stack with his right hand.
At around 2:00 after she counts them into his hand, he distracts her and the audience by talking about her ratings and then smoothly adds 3 cards to her 10 stack making it 13. Then when he gives them back to her to put away she doesn’t count them again, she just assumes her stack feels like 10 still. Then when the guy is drawing a card to determine the number of cards switched, he fails at directing the right card to him, so uses humor to get him to draw again for the desired result of a 3 being drawn.
Nice. At 2:11 he had some cards in his right hand. Added 3 to the stack of 10 that Megan counted, while the crowd was distracted and laughing, while Megan passed the pack to Farah. At 3:22 notice his left hand, he separated Farah's 10 cards into 2 groups, 3 cards removed from the ten, then took the upper group of 7 to hand it to Farah. So it was all already set up from the start. He gave the guy the 3 card.
@@Winnipeg_Jets_Fan He tried to feed the guy the 3 card, thrice. First two time he pulled the pack away, then pretended that they guy didn't take it. On the 3rd try, the guy simply took whatever card he was pushing ahead of the pack, because, well... he was sorta embarassed about missing the first two times. That was the 3 card all set up for him to take.
Camera angle and video editing is part of his disguise @3:22 right before he hands her the deck, he pulls three cards out with his left hand and tucks them away. I've watched a lot of his videos on UA-cam one thing they all have in common is the camera angle and video editing is done in such a way viewers cant see what he is doing. The audience cant afford the luxury of replay.
I just learned that two randomly chosen participants from the audience are better at shuffling cards than I am.
Yeah that was weird. Guess they do card tricks themselves, thats why they go to a magicians show.

His performance is truly outstanding . He knows well how to steal and direct your attention to his liking while he cheats you (2:11 the +3 cards can be seen in his right hand and then added with the initial 10 cards in his left) . Nicely done sir ✔
Good catch
At 3:23 he takes three out
@@Beck-Stein Exactly , he spread them and then used his pinky to lock these -3 cards .
"Between the two of you, who is the better shuffler?"
Cheeky, I love it.
He took a simple, old trick and turned it into a stand-up gig. Awesome!
One simple Trick - eight minutes of pure entertainment. This guy knows how to do magic.
He reminds me of the Amazing Johnathon in his joke delivery. I'm a big fan of comedy and magic mixed together which is why I usually watch guys like them and Penn and Teller over the more showmen magicians. I need to look up more of his stuff.
Not enough blood or drugs to be the Amazing Johnathon
@@ManOfParody true, but his jokes are similar in style.
"Do you feel anything at all? That's why I'm here without a date" 😂
He's a riot! Very entertaining to watch and quite the magician indeed.
This is the type of magic, which impresses me the most up close with simple things and little movement.
He is just amazing!!
How am I only just watching this? This is so good. I’ve never seen this trick performed so well🙌🏻🙌🏻
Bill Malone. Check out his stuff.
Jonathan Burns. Magic with cheese.
this ain't a magic show, this is the best damn comedy show i've seen in a while.
His wit and charm sold this for me. His stage control and audience interaction is outstanding
Quite a presentation. One might say an excellent Hannibal Lecture.
2:10 in slow motion you can see he added 3 cards to the 10 cards deck
Yeah. Seems he had a few cards in his right hand. Great observation.
How’d he know the guy was going to pick 3?
and after that u can see the pinky break how he took 3 cards out on 3:22
Timing is everything.
3:21 when he says the word rest, you can see the 3 cards pulled unter the stack of 7 in his hand
wowwwwwww!!!!!
nice catch
And you can see the three he adds as he says "pass the rest over" at 2:11
And if you listen closely you can hear the crowd enjoying it, and since they aren't 6, they probably realized it wasn't real magic too
And at 1:17 you can see him take the cards out of the whole stack
I love how they stop smiling when Hannibal says 'I need for you to take one out.'
This is basically stand up and magic show combined, how I haven't heard about this guy before?
This is by far, the most entertaining trick. Ever.
I do love Hannibal's banter. I find it one of the best ever. Gazzo is my second favorite.
so he knows how much each of them have and just makes the guy pick the exact card that he needs.
Yup.
"That's why I'm here without a date" might be one of the funniest jokes ive ever heard from a magician oh my god, actually wheezing
For all those they give a thumbs down- You have no sense of humour, charisma or the ability to give credit to a great a performance with a cool slight of hand magic. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. This guy is really good and full of banter
this guy does every classic magic trick so much better than anyone else, great work!
I say this with the utmost respect, this is what a max level neck beard looks like.
As stated in the holy text of the internet, stay a virgin to your 30. birthday to become a wizard.
@@NineSun001 which of the 10 commandments is that?
A very charming and witty neckbeard at that
I get the joke, but let's be real. This guy couldn't name one videogame. And he's been laid more than the local chad.
@@bowennace4343 "of the internet".
2:11 3-cards add from his right-hand
3:22 3-cards split in left-hand
4:41 Chair-Sir was guided by fingers to choose the card
PEPEGAtrick
holy shit! You`re actually right! Thanks!
I have seen in 0 .25x and you are absolutely right
@3:22 if you go on 0.25 speed and check his hand, you can see how he split the cards and took a few out with his left hand. However, the Trick only works if you know exactly how many cards they need to end up with, so the guy HAD to pick a 3.
The art of illusion is something special for sure ✨️
The art of making people laugh and smile is also very special
Now that is a PERFECT PERFORMANCE!
hilariously funny jokes
And amazing tricks
This man deserves a much bigger audience.
Respect man!
Three separate parts to the trick:
1. Bring 3 palmed cards in his right hand and add them to the ten counted out by Meghan (2:11)
2. Cut 3 cards from the ten counted out by Farah and palm them behind with his left hand (3:21-3:23)
He tried three times before Barret chose a 3...
"You got one yet? You really got one that time."
3:22 the most invisible pinky break
damn
Imagine him holding a cup o tea 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣im dead
Thank you youtube for .25 playback speed
That def was the smoothest of the 3.
I recommend everyone learns a 1 handed cut. Its super easy and you can teach yourself in 5 mins.
might wanna use your non dominate hand
For some reason, its either to use your left hand if youre a righty.
This just goes to show you... even the most basic trick, in the hands of a skilled entertainer, becomes a joy. You can watch this act, spot exactly what he's doing all the way through... and just not care XD
I don't know about my favourite trick. But Chris just made my favourite magician list!
The amount of charisma radiating off this mans is overwhelming
Wonderful. I always pop back here when I need a smile and have the blues with MS
3:22
His left middle finger is placed marking three cards on the bottom. When he switches the cards to his right hand to give the cards to the woman on the right, he only picks up 7. Same thing with the other woman except he takes 3 cards from his pocket as she counts and proceeds to place them in the stack with his right hand.
2:11 you can actually see the cards in his right hand
I caught all that, but how about the force to get the guy to pick a three?
2:11 in the other hand he has the 3 cards
Beginning at 4:19 he goes thru three "offers" for the guy to select the card. Nice handling of missed ClassicF attempts
God I love this guy’s humor! Seriously underrated! 👏🏻😂
Great trick, and hilarious. Being a big dude with big hands has to be a big plus for a magician.
Wow, Shoofly!
You figured out that it wasn't REAL magic.
And you even have your own cute avatar with your very own initials on it.
So impressive!!

OMG THE LADY ON THE RIGHT LOOKS LIKE THE PRINCESS OUT OF KINGSMAN!!!!!!

Did you notice where she was going to put the cards at first?
She wanted to do it in the ass...
ohhhhhhhhh shit
I was just thinking how much she looked like some lady I gave the bukakake too last night.

"Looked like a cross between Jack Black and Orson Welles" is the best joke I've heard tonight.

God, I wish I was friends with this guy.
He's fucking hilarious and a great magician.
Excellent your a great showman. Greetings from Wales UK.
"I want you to stand as close to me as I am to you" 😅
This got me laughing definitely looking into this dudes stuff
I'm in love with Farah. 🥰
This guy is freaking awesome. I would drive to NC just to watch him.
Less than nine minutes but it feels like an hour of enjoyment. I recommend you to all my friends.
I see exactly what you are explaining. Question is, how does he make the guy choose 3.
2:10 His right arm, adding 3 cards to the 10 card he got from her
3:20 His left arm, removing 3 cards from the 10 cards he got from her.
The tricks aren't for the people in the seats, it's for the viewers of the video, they're all part of it.. But it's still fantastic! I love this!
Brilliant. Plus the ladies were so COOL about the whole thing. Happiness
3:22 You can see where he counts the 10, then uses his finger to peel off 3.
2:11 You can also see him add 3 from his pocket. Probably uses the earring comment to distract her from looking too closely
6:54 He never claimed to be a "Mathemagician."
But seven goes into twenty-eight *four* times.
