Seriously folks, help your commander, come in as an Engineer and build those nodes as soon as the game starts. If you have a friend both of you spawn in as Engineer and Support class (you don't even have to be in the same squad) and build the nodes at an HQ - swap class to reduce supply cool down time, build manpower node first to reduce supply cooldown by half - that builds 2 sets of nodes. If you're on your own just swap between support and engineer and build your own nodes - takes 6 minutes at the start of the game, then its done.
The game play is evolving and Node building has also. I see a lot of team killing/ripping off supply trucks and other tactics to gain the upper hand in building the first nodes. You have placed several "restrictions" on Ammo usage. Recon runs , IMHO, are very useful to those who use them. Ammo drops are very valuable when needed. Inside a defense, and Support can't keep up or none are there, they save the day for many that if they run out it's game over. Usually no spawn left for them to die and come back to. This has happened several times with me. If no one needs them , then don't drop them. But, if asked, there is a reason. .In defense I like to see what is going on around my perimeter. All in all a great report! Worthy to keep and save for re-study.
I’ve tried commander once or twice; actually using your video as a basis for some of the things I do. Your video helped me a hell of a lot and improved my gameplay for leading my team to victory. But personally, I don’t enjoy the role because it just doesn’t fit me. Even though I don’t like the commander role that much, you’ve helped me realize that I can fill in if need be, and also that I LOVE playing engineer and support roles. The praise and happiness I get from everyone when I drop supplies or build nodes and fortify a point so our boys can be safe when they need to fall back is so satisfying to me. I’m really indebted to you for helping me realize this, so thank you for that. It would be an honor to build nodes for you, sir!
Thank you for the comment! I'm glad this all has been helpful. Maybe you will start to enjoy commander as you witness people doing it wrong too often lol.
If you were to tell me that Commander Crane wasn’t a robot, I wouldn’t believe you after watching this video. That being said this gives me some confidence to start learning commander having played 50+ levels at this point as everything else
Even as a non-commander, this was very helpful for me to know about how many resources (30, 60, 90/min) to expect, as well as the different garrison types (backline vs regular, and blue/red sector dismantle times)!
True. I hope to make a short what-you-need-to-know video about things in HLL that is not evident to most players. The red zone garrison part is such an important detail that is not explained anywhere. The resources used to be different and they changed many times, now I believe they are keeping it as it is.
Thanks so much for your videos on HLL! a great boon to the community! 6:25 the tip about backline garrisons blew my mind and 7:40 when u have extra leaving a supply truck for the proactive engie sounds simple and elegant. not tryna dick ride but Iearn well from mimicking and i feel i learn more in the guides than the maaany hours playing sometimes.
I loved this! Could you make one for squad leader? More specifically how to stop enemies with the binaculars? Becuase i try to spot but i cant find sheit LOL
Strafing runs should only be used to clear backline garries (next sector deep - slow burners). Recon will eventually get the Garry unless someone respawns to defend it, but otherwise it’s a waste of munitions. Supply drops are not a waste, generally.
Never tried commander and I'm level 134. I'm more than adequate as a squad leader but kinda wanna try commander on a near empty server with a little less pressure and people yelling at me.
Yes, try an empty server. That will give you " time in" on the look of the menu. Then study what you experienced live. Then get aboard. Take it with a gran of salt and have at it! You'll grow. Let the team know that you're new to the seat and they will encourage you. Have fun. Win some lose some.
Can someone explain to me, how I can move around my commander abilities on ps5? For some reason the position and direction of where I want to place an abilities, is locked and I cant move it around on the map.

That's one of my notes for the advanced tutorial.

You and Soul Sniper make life so much easier, nice video
Thank you. Soul Sniper is pretty dang good at video editing his tutorials. After making this, I see that it is no small feat. :D
Thanks this gives me more confidence that up can step up to the commander role when there is no one 👍👍
Happy to help. This game needs more commanders that know how to play the role.

Thank you. I'm glad this is useful, I'm hoping to get more players to learn all these little details as it improves the gameplay/enjoyment of games.
master class
Great video man
Legend.
Yes yes yes yes great video!!
Thank you

A squad leader tutorial? I can add it to my list of ideas, I was thinking about doing that as I made this video.

I like playing this game but I’m scared to talk so I’ll be using this when I have the courage to speak
Don't be afraid, most players are nice and willing to communicate if you chat.
You the GOAT

You should try it. Most people will not be mean to you.

Sorry, I'm super noob. How do use the abilities? Do you click on the right of the ability and then on the map where you want to place it?
Can someone explain to me, how I can move around my commander abilities on ps5? For some reason the position and direction of where I want to place an abilities, is locked and I cant move it around on the map.
What are your settings? Your game looks amazing!
I'm maxed out with vsync off, motion blur off. Community TAA.

Hate commander ability placement on console. So weird. Killed my whole team
The burden of knowledge after playing this game for a while is enough to send you to the mental hospital.
