Yet another wonderful video from Auckland Police TV. Not suggesting for a moment it's a cushy job, but if I were still policing (I'd be up to about 32 years now), I'd love to do this until mandatory retirement at 60. Is being a police photographer part of SOCO or a separate branch? Best wishes from Brisbane, and take care out there.
This is what im attempting to go to school for and giving the absolute run around 😫 of course I love studying mass media but I love forensic photography too. I need to know what she did to get there
These folks are unbelievably cool, she especially seems like a really good person. It almost makes me sad that I can't relate, lol. This whole vlog edit was really well done too, like I'm amazing at the quality & insight their production shows us without being too intrusive, vague or dramatized.
Jess Ess In QPS scenes of crimes officers do photography for most jobs. Photography section specialise in more drones, fix photographs if they’re underexposed, 3D for homicide jobs etc. They are more specialised and not like the role they play in NZ police.
Wow, photography and police work. Could there be a better job. I was at a local crime scene taking photos from outside the cordon for a photography project and saw a police photographer there. Good to see the how things work behind the scenes and I am definitely going to show this video to my photography classes. Be great to have one of the photographers come along and do a talk at my photography club some time but they must be pretty busy by the sound of things.
I like how the vid starts like it's an mtv reality show lol. Vid was very useful though. I am making a comic and my protagonist is a forensic photographer. Thank you.
@@newzealandpolice yeah i can imagine! I saw a couple of them at MOTAT once and they kept they're faces hidden and wouldn't let me anywhere near they're assault rifles lol. Mad respect
That’s really cool that she’s both a photographer and constable at the same time! I definitely don’t want to be an officer of the law, but I am a photographer. I wonder if any departments use civilian photographers 🤔.
From the video it sounds like a constable role cause she said they don't know when they're going to have to step into a normal police role or a traffic incident
Hey, I'm thinking of studying this as my career, I just wanted to ask you if you have to see dead people often? Do you have to take photos of dead people? Are you ever in danger
Well I'll just get a picture of it. Lets see... f32... and it's dark, it's been rainin'... and uh... Oh for heaven's sake STAND BACK Suzanna! Stand back! Get out of the way! And for heaven's sake don't TOUCH anything! This is all EVIDENCE!
So leaving police work to do photos probably wasn't a good idea -- hindsight and all that. And with all due respect.... Ah, DAM, Rhonda is smokin bloody hot.
Yay she says with all the enthusiasm she can muster lol. Made me laugh. I hesitate to imagine what kind of scenes she has to photograph. Awesome Vlog!

Could you do a ‘day in the life of’ detectives?
Too sensitive unfortunately.
Rhonda's quite natural at the Vlogs great job was really interesting to watch thanks :)
Great work guys, awesome vlog, keep it up
Awesome vlog. Great insight into another department as well as mature age recruitment 👍
I think Australia has gotten rid of dedicated photographers.
Forensics just do the photos now.
Some police just use their mobile phones.

Can you do a "day in a life of a highway patrol" officer 🚔🚓🛣🚦 or RBT patrol random checks around
Definitely a possibility! Taken on board!
Maybe do a look at the CVST.

It is not a easy job they have to deal with some horrid things and go home with those images in there heads, praise them for a great job
This was quite inspiring know Rhonda joined the police at 46.
this is one of the jobs i wanna do when i join the Police
Surely a video in the DCU is coming 👌🏻 the role of an AO 🤷🏻♂️
Hi guys was wondering when is the aos video coming out?
do you still need to go through the academy to be a police photographer?
I like how the vid starts like it's an mtv reality show lol. Vid was very useful though. I am making a comic and my protagonist is a forensic photographer. Thank you.
I know this is old but this is one of those jobs I would really enjoy having...
Cant wait for the AOS one
Yes pleaaaaase!!
Still on the approval train! As you can imagine - a lot of sensitive information.

Just curious, are there height restrictions for police officer in nz?
I also wonder what's the ratio of Asian police officers are there?
There are no longer any height requirements but there used to be
Quick question, is this role performed by civilian staff or is it a career option for constables?
From the video it sounds like a constable role cause she said they don't know when they're going to have to step into a normal police role or a traffic incident
I was wondering the same thing
Same, I was interested in the photography side of things but not so much being an officer for 2 or 3 years first 😂
Did you guys watch the video? She went to police college, worked in the front line as a officer for 18months
6:27 clearly shows that she's a constable
Do you train as a police woman first?
Yyoooo nothing but full frame and L-lenses

Good ol Kumeu/ Huapai

Do a day in the life eagle
Work in progress :)
@@newzealandpolice YAYYYYY!
Quick question. Do you offer jobs to people who live in different countries if they're willing to move over?
Not on the force, however have police with very distinctive UK accents etc. if you have the skills???
Hi guys, hope you're considering 360° cameras soon, if not using these old monsters to shoot 360° panoramas. That's my area of expertise 😉
More dog videos please 😍

Do they photograph people doing 104 kmph on a passing lane to gather revenue ?
you won't get ticketed doing 104, why would you?
Matowix Unplugged , becoming obsessed?
@@respectablebogan3276 yes over the holiday season they drop the 10 kmph leeway to 4 kmph to get more revenue in.
@@Pete-z6e no just concerned.
@@matowixunplugged7927 no, they make the limit 104 which means you won't get ticketed at 104 will you? Smh
Is that all you do?? Why can't you use a DRONE?? It's 2019 not 1989 zzzzz
Because a drone doesn't have the versatility of a dslr.
