6.2 L86 piston slap or detonation ??

6.2 L86 with 100k on it runs good but when it’s idling and you wot it will knock , when your accelerate while driving it will knock . When your wot and it does it’s shift it will knock .
Anyone ?

I have the same noise on my 2015 6.2 Denali since I bought it new. are you sure it's the lifters?

Try 91 Octane. 6.2 recommends 91 not 87

Lifters where collapsing . My buddy bailed on the deal bought another one and made the same noise month later ate a lifter and cam lobe :(

@@IMRgarage I am seeing this issue very very often on vehicles I find at auction with that motor, gas it really hard at idle and it makes a nasty cracking noise
