I wish they'd included that last scene of them together behind the car, of them agreeing to be "brilliant at divorce", to being partners. Don't know if anything like that ever happened, but it's lovely to think they could've both moved on to being friends and good co-parents.

Me too. I do believe that conversation happened… Diana mentioned something along those lines to Tina B approx one month before her death. But then Diana’s relationship fell apart while Charles’ relationship flourished. I think that shift reignited the media wars between them.
Being ‘brilliant’ as co-parents would have been the right thing for the children but it would also have paved a clear path for Camilla…. which, I wanna believe that Diana would have been fine with … as long as she was in a stable relationship herself.

@@YaYa-ke1zr yeah that's a good point, she could be supportive as long as she felt like she had her own life and wasn't the sad little ex-wife. I could see that being not just a successful relationship but even instead being a successful advocate for the causes she cared about. I think it really came down to feeling useful and loved.

    • @YaYa-ke1zr
      @YaYa-ke1zr Рік тому +8

@@rachelarruda-decell7244 Yes I agree. There are interviews from people who knew her as a child and those were the things she needed: to feel useful, to feel appreciated and to feel loved. I guess most of us need those things but it seems that for her, they were absolutely critical to repel the addiction to drama that was described by the therapist in the show.
If she was in a stable relationship, she was able to not focus on Charles, but if she wasn’t, the competitive streak came back to the forefront and she started making decisions based on what Charles and Camilla were doing.
By most accounts. Diana was getting better, she was going to slow down, she was going to be less flighty, she just didn’t have time on her side.
Also, like you said, she was just coming around to the idea that she didn’t need a man or a relationship to feel whole. She could focus on her children and her charities. She mentioned that to Tina Brown in NY in June. But she also desperately wanted more children and a happy home life. A very complicated situation.

The real villain in this whole story is the royal establishment and not Charles himself.
Charles never wavered from his interest in being married to Camilla, and the royal family knowing full well that they ruined Princess Margret's life by denying her marriage to Townsend went on to repeat the same mistake of not approving Charles's relationship with Camilla. Diana is unfortunate to have ever been caught up in this mess.
This I hope makes one sympathise for both parties here, and not just Diana's as they're both victims of the establishment.

I don't think cutting out all ties would've changed anything with his relationship with Diana. I think it would've been better for them to become friends way earlier instead of all the media rivalry they had between each other, they would've at least find solutions to many of the troubles they've had together and it would've lightened their hatred for one another. Cutting out with Camilla would've had on the contrary broken Charles and their relationship would be worse than it already were.

And let's not forget that she did just as much to break up that marriage as he did. She wasn't the innocent party people want to pretend she was. Both of them made mistakes that forced that marriage to end. If you're going to blame one person, you have to blame both. Or you could accept that the marriage didn't work and they parted ways. And lord, to blame Camilla for this is absurd. She was stuck in an unhappy marriage with a serial cheater. Is there a certain status in life that prevents an individual from seeking happiness?

I hate to tell you this Charles was never in love with Diana just the way, and I understand we’re looking at two actors playing a role and you have two perspectives, but Charles never love Diana the way his body behavior is in all this he looks uncomfortable, and he looks like he just wants to run away from her and run straight to Camilla It’s just so gross.

@@brierising3107 Dominic West is a wonderful actor, but he's too charismatic to be Charles.

Ik i will get sm replies to this, but it wasn't an accident. It could've been, its just SO unlikely.
All the cameras in that tunnel just happened be off that night
I'm not 100% sure this is true, but she wrote in her diary about Charles planning an accident for her so he could marry someone else (I'm not sure it was Camilla)
Charles and Diana divorced in 1996, Camilla and Andrew divorced in 1995, they couldn't marry whilst Diana was alive. She died in 1997.
She was with Dodi, and it would've caused hell on earth if she had married a Muslim man, who's Father was also so famous.
She didnt arrive at that hospital until 2 hours after the crash. There is no way there wasnt a closer hospital, or she couldn't of got there quicker.
Ik Henri's results said he was drunk, but it could be a cover up. The doctors could've been paid or threatened to say that you never know
She was murdered. And i hope one day, one of the people who know what really happened to her, Dodi and Henri come out with the truth.
    R.I.P Diana, the Queen of the people's hearts 💔 🤧 😢
