5 Best Mechanics for Low Rank Rocket League Players to Learn. Today we are covering the best mechanics for lower level rocket league players in order to help them improve in rocket league. After looking over some beginner rocket league player replays and some other lower level games, I have made a little video going over the best mechanics to learn as a low level player to help you improve and rank up in rocket league. This video does not include flip resets and air dribbles. Instead, it goes over Halfflips, wall play, power shots, aerials and momentum. A big thing to take away is the aerial tutorial section and how to aerial in rocket league. This is a big thing low ranked players seem to struggle with. I am someone who likes to work on my mechanics and always try to have the best rocket league mechanics that I can. And so this is my low level mechanic tutorial for rocket league players who are looking to improve and looking to rank up.

Not many. Just Rocket League is arguably the most skill based game in history.
@@hwangraphy5 That's true
there are a lot of games out there that require you to be both mecahnically and mentally inclined (fighting games, souls-likes, and even high-level rhythm games) but rocket league is just a whole 'nother level for me
@@harmonicposting agreed. That's why this game interests me so much, there's such a high skill cap and so many possibilities for what you can improve at. Yeah i have about 20hours, LETS LEARN TO AIR DRIBBLE
I have 24h right now. How far have you gone in these two months?
@@Fives179 Didn't go that well, I realised that I should get (like any other game) better at other things first, like basic areals... when i made the comment i had hardly even gone into the air, I think i was stuck around gold 2 at that time, i hit Diamond 1 in season 2 (16) Now its going pretty well, starting to learn how to handle the ball in the air.
@@nerfy1166 have you trained a bunch or what? Im basically in your position right now. Hardly going for aerials but working on the fundamentals for now.
@@Fives179
For me i just played regularly, i didn't do training packs or anything but generally played alot of ranked games every day. When I was in Gold 3 areals just started clicking for me and i started learning to go for them. You should try searching for UA-cam videos, they are really helpful. It's about reading the balls direction, speed, and curve, and also how important it is. If it's worth going for. But most important, is it worth going for, what is going for that areals going to do? How is that going to be of use to you? Saving? Shooting? Passing?
I got only 7hrs and in gold 1 PAIN

Thank you so much!! 😄😄😄 This tutorial or whatever you would call it has really helped me with my air dribbling and flip resets, etc 😁😁😁
I love coming across these kinds of videos even though I am well past the point of needing them. I play with new friends all the time that want to get better and supplemental viewing is great to have lol
The fact that Thanovic gives helpful advice to all of us low level (and high level) players is a nice and kind thing to do. Thanks dude :]!
Happy to help!
As someone who played Real Sports at a high level I'm still shocked that rocket League 5 years in still has so many players who can pull off amazing shots who don't understand proper spacing(I'm DIII BTW) hate to say it I feel like it's mostly American though, couple weeks ago started waking up early and playing a few games in EU they're definitely more about the team game out there, less people going for predictable air an ceiling shots
Placed plat 2 and blunced between plat 1 and 3. Im loving this video showing me what to work on. Im 2 days in to playing and Im hooked hard. I love it.
I am so glad I found your content way back. When I coach, I am always sending people to your videos. The training pack vid has helped the most!
Awesome! Thank you!
Really cool seeing you put in the time/work and growing to match what you've put in. Keep it up man. You'll be in the big leagues soon
I appreciate that!
@@Thanovic i dont
Great video, Thanovic :)
But learning half flips with directional air roll bound to a button first, makes it harder once you're trying to learn them only using the analog stick. Muscle memory and all that.. Having air roll right (let's say) bound to a button is helpful for recovering from a poorly executed half flip tho.
Thanks for the tips!
I just wanna say, i've looked at 3 half-flip tutorials didn't get any of them then I come here he takes 15 secs and now I can do it, thank you!
Love your Power Shot training. Thank you !
Thank you this will help me so much in bronze 2 honestly
I'm glad man!
At bronze u don’t need to learn anything
I want to send this to all my friends who’ve been playing with me since quarantine. But how do I do it without flaming them? Lol
Tell them it’s a pro game then after this vid say there is a sequel and then rick roll them
Same I’m c2 and my friends are all d1 and I want to send it to them
Just full send
What do you mean, I purposely sent it to my friends and quoted "probably sitting below GC"
LOL! If my friends had this video when I was a gold, they all would have sent it to me. I learned how to airdribble before dribbling on the ground. It all worked out in the end because I mastered everything later on. Now, I am C2 Freestyler and I always emphasize learning dribbles/flicks!
Super helpful.
Me and my friend recently started playing and it's quite a steep learning curve.
Yo Thanovic, I love the rank focused content. Since I’m not GC, it helps me climb a little faster not having to waste hours to find certain things out

THANK YOU 🤗🤗🤗 I remember being stuck in gold and silver and looking for resources that targeted players of my level but there was next to nothing there. If i had to change one thing, though, I would argue that constant air roll is a bit of a stretch--which I guess is the point of it in your vid--but in its place I would maybe suggest powersliding (for sharp turns and recoveries) or maybe even double jump aerials (3 variations). I would argue that below Plat1 air roll is most useful as a recovery mechanic, not a shooting mechanic.
I used this as a video that will help build solid mechanics to take you further. Shooting and learning aerials and air rolling, if you learn them and practice early, can take you a long way. But yes recoveries are equally as important
learning aerials is the most important thing imo. once you have the basics of aerials down as a low level, you can get a pretty good understanding of how the ball moves in the air and start improving way faster
Tip for doing the “advanced” half flip:
When you flip diagonally back left or right, just move forwards, the car should orientate itself to normal. You would want to mentally time 1 second or else you will wheelie from doing it early or just fail from doing it too late

3 months ago I was hardstuck Gold 3. I commented on one of your videos and you gave me the advice to play smarter. Since then I’ve almost made Diamond 2! Can confirm everything in this video is spot on
Nice work!
me being unranked and knowing damn well I wont understand any of this: well then lets find out
For momentum you should provide crucial info such us: "For example: when you get bumped from any side and your car starts sliding or flying, use jump to gain some height and use air roll in order to align the car to the direction your car is going by the bump and then when you land of your four wheels powerslide a little and turn to the desired direction in order to maintain a little of that speed while going back into the game. That way you'll keep moving without your car coming to a halt when you get bumped" . I had to learn how to drive my car like that the hard way, by analyzing lots of hours of people's gameplay in replays. I haven't seen any guide so far mentioning that particular tip or any other sort of tip with that level of info and that makes me kinda sad. Still your video is a good way to get general guidelines and work on them.
Oh interesting, I don't recover like that personally but if it works it works man haha
Iv defo seen it mentioned a few times somewhere, maybe virge, but it's also pretty obvious and naturally done if you have car control but sometimes u don't want to jump or even slide and instead back flip for example, if you are being hit towards their side/net while needing to rotate on defense
nice tip. if I ever get bumped from a head on head collision and the play is behind me I will often reverse so when I land I can use that extra speed to get back on defense.
Love your channel! ❤

Just got into rocket league, wish I woulda gotten into it way earlier ! It seems so intimidating for new players, but the game does a great job with matchmaking / making your improvements visible. Sure, when I watch these clips that level of control seems unattainable. But when I'm in the game, I always feel the satisfaction that I got a tiny bit better during each session. There's a shockingly low number of games that do this, and do it this well.
As long as the game continues to stay fun as I'm learning, I don't mind at all. On the outside, it seems like you just bang your head against a wall for 300+ hours and then finally get some enjoyment - but it really is every single session ending with slight improvements each time.
Think I've seen this three times now. Guess it's back to training. Very good clip for ppl like me who are new. Thanks!
Geez, turn up the music, I can almost hear you
Im in silver watching this, why? so I can go undefeated
Good stuff. I would add for power training to practice hook shots as well. Such a reliable way for great power

Thanks thanovic I've been watching ur vids trying to get better and I feel like I've improved a decent amount so far (that's that I don't play as much as I'd like to)

I’ve been learning a bunch of mechanics because of videos like these but the problem is I’ve been kinda focused on learning less “useful” mechanics like Air dribbles and ceiling shots while they are a little helpful as they give me that extra space or ways I can shoot it’s not a worthwhile thing to do but this videos help a lot because it shows and tells me a lot of what would be more worthwhile mechanics to worth on so thank you thanovic
This helped a lot. I have been playing for 2 months. There’s a lot I haven’t noticed what I need to work on. I mostly practice my airdribbles and air control and dribbles in general. But this video helped a lot.
