Tf did you just call me? What the fuck is a ceiling pogo double flip reset musty double tap? It's hard to take this game seriously and have the patience to learn it and have fun when there's all these wack ass terms
I think u forgot something important, may be in diamond-champ: make the touches with a purpouse, not just hit the ball towards ahead and control the ball. I see this a lot at this levels and the difference with high Champs is that... consistency and control, not just hitting the ball to your oponents field. Love ur content, keep doing it!
Its funny I saw that while watching a johnyboi review one night and that same night, I was able to hit gc for the first time. This was about 3-4 seasons ago but I still remember it so clearly since this point is literally game changing if you really break it down.
Just wanna thank you Thanovic! Ever since I bought Rocket League I've been watching your videos and other Rocket League UA-camrs as well as Sunless and Rizzo. You guys have helped me a lot and after 2 months of owning the game I have made it to Platinum 2 in 3's, and Gold 3 in 2v2's and 1v1's. I try to practice every day and I am glad to be a part of the community! Thank you Thanovic!
I’ve been playing RL for about 2 months, and have happily plateaued at about mid Plat. I feel like that is the level you can achieve with just pure game sense and raw ability just from playing a lot and maybe a few training modes. Awareness and decision making is what people really lack at the lower ranks. You can really tell who has never played or even watched sports before. It’s like everyone’s goal is to just touch the ball any given chance they have.
Bro I been playing for a Year and idk what these mechanics and flying bs even is all I do is hit the ball and it goes into or near the goal I guess I should quit since RL isn't my type of game idk what to even do
honestly u could get up to champ with just game sense. however you should be training mechanics from the start of the rank ladder even though u dont use them then, just so ur not hardtuck champ having to learn 30 mechanics at a time later on, and also cuz ur car control will imrove which will allow u to move the ball and car wherever u want in any situation even with little mechanics
@@CreepFireTTV it just means your not thinking about your hits and that your kinda just chasing the ball or that your challenging something that’s not smart to go for because your not thinking about it.
Important thing to note: these tips are not exclusive to their ranks. Obviously, if you're a certain but you have focused on a mechanic he suggests for a lower rank, then you should be grinding that mechanic. However, there is nothing wrong with learning higher mechanics before you're supposed to. If you're silver, you may want to do aerial and dribble training at the same time. All of these mechanics are things that will get you into the next rank, but they're all things that you'll need eventually, so there's nothing wrong with learning it. Plus, learning multiple things can make your training more interesting and prevent burnout.
I play this game just a few weeks and its very nice to see how im getting better. Started in Gold 3 i ranked up to diamond 2 💎 Im very excited to see how my journey goes on 😊
As a fellow plat player I feel like falling into auto pilot is so easy, recoveries, ariels and ground game is easy but I've set myself a goal to learn speedflips and utilise them consistently
I’m not mad and I don’t care that it’s been over a year and why do you think I was mad I was just that I love how plats overestimate their skills that’s all do you really want to start an argument over this?
thanks thanovic, I STILL find this useful after 2 years of this video being uploaded.I appreciate the work that is put into your vids, keep up the amazing work.
I’m level 3 lol Can’t even do competitive although my friend has been teaching me. I already know flip cancels, half flips, speed flips, feathering boost. Hoping to keep improving
Thx Thanovic i know i'm like a year late to this vid but yeah also I bought your training and I went from gold 1-3 to plat 1 in 3s diamond 1 in 2s and plat 2 in 1s
When I was bronze I could double tap because I lost each placement match and then was against smurfs who did ceiling shots, flip resets, air dribbling etc.
For bronze players they just need to focus on hitting the ball into the goal. Striking is most important. Bronze players shouldn't worry about flicks, half flips, speed flips, dribbling, air dribbling, aerials, shadow defense, none of that. Instead they should primarily focus on striking the ball properly. Once they are comfortable and striking the ball into the net from all the way across the field that's when they'll already start naturally climbing into silver anyways. Once they are silver they should start to dab into ground dribbling, wall play, passing to team mates, and a bit more focused on learning shadow defense and how to play the game using ball cam. I personally NEVER bothered with ball cam until I was already GOLD. Seems crazy but it allowed me to develop in other areas much faster not trying to get used to ball cam. Ball cam feels very weird at first and it discourages new players to even bother with it. Atleast it did for me. But once I was in gold I realized that if I was going to push further I needed to force myself to play with ball camera on. Now I'm almost in GC and I ONLY USE BALL CAM. The only time I don't is for a half second when I'm going for a boost but then I immediately turn ball camera back on. I also don't use ball camera when I'm doing ground dribbles but that's something I personally need to work on. I never really focused on any ground dribbling despite being almost GC. I instead focused much more of my time learning how to air dribble, aerials, and defense. Defense has always been super important for me. For the longest time I was a diamond player when it came to my defense and my ability to block shots.. but my offensive play was terrible and basically bronze. I was someone that blocked every shot you sent my way but would miss the easiest wide open goals ever! 😅
I think this guy hasn’t seen silver and gold games recently. I just got out of gold and can confirm that gold is mainly boosting towards the ball, not much aerial competence at all tbh lol
Great video! Small suggestion: Some visualisation for the ranks would have been awesome (either chapter titles or even an icon in the corner or sth like that). This way I wouldn't have skipped through the video like a maniac to find my rank - but maybe that's exactly what you where after, then well done! ;)
It’s a great video but id love if you talk about Speedong up the gameplay. For a long time I thoight it would be just getting to the ball faster but that’s not true cuz that’s just me ball chasing. Make a video about the aspects of it and how to get it down
Hi Thanovic, I am a gold player and think practicing my dribbling is a good idea, but I can't get the ball on my car. Maybe you could do a video on setting up dribbles.
As a gold player myself I think gold players and below all should learn shooting the ball. In all my games everyone misses the easiest shots and fails clearing the ball correctly.

Hey man,idk if u know this but some of us have something called "school" or "college" so daily routines are hard so can u please try to make something not that...routiny?idk just not a lot of time just an hour to 4 hours every 3 days
A general tip for everyone, bronze or Grand Champ: focus on the basics. No, really. Just yesterday I had a Grand Champ in Casual, who was clearly trying to score and play fancy. Issue was, he was ineffective. It didn't harm anyone, since it was Casual, but seeing a GC miss the shots while I scored on them, was quite a surprise. Solid basics > fancy pro looking, but ineffective. We all want to look like Squishy or jstn, but this should never be the focus of our gameplay. Our focus should be winning. Even pros in RLCS sometimes switch from their freestyle to basic, but effective shots when they are starting to lose.
Hello Thanovic! sorry for bothering but I remember seeing a vid about a training pack that focuses on giving passes AND taking them, so for example, the first shot is giving a pass infield and the next shot is receiving that pass you just practised... could you help me out? Fyi bronze should focus on just making contact with the ball, goalie training is good. Bronze should definitely not be focusing on placing their shots yet, simply making consistent contact with ball, regardless of where it goes, will get you out of bronze.
