I don't think its autotuned. I think its multi tracked and he sang the same thing over himself so it sounds a bit funky but personally don't hear auto tuned
He was around 20-21 when they recorded Definitely Maybe, his voice wasn't developed fully, I think his peak vocals were in the Be Here Now album, but after the Hashimoto's Disease take over his throat and his voice became hoarse. Today's vocals are great, even in live, but a 47 years old man's vocals. But I like it.
Believe this is the vocal track from the un-mixed master track, so he'd have to get his hands on Shes electric but dude i love that song so i hope someone can
For What It's Worth, some of his new songs show that Liam can still do this in the studio. Live... sometimes, but hey he's 45 and this style singing takes it toll
Ayush Agarwal YES! His voice in 2006 was absolutely shambolic but he’s truest made one of the best rock n roll comebacks. His new stuff is just amazing. The last true rock n roll star!
Liam did sing the falsetto until like mid-1994, when he decided singing falsetto live was "gay" and refused to sing in it anymore. He could still sing falsetto tho as evidenced by "She's Electric" which came out in 1995. Liam was still a great singer until 2000 but then somewhere around late 2001-2002 all those cigarettes and alcohol and drugs got to him and it's been a slow decline since then.
He can still sing a falsetto now, if he wanted. The I'm Outta Time demo, while a little rough, clearly demonstrates this. Also, while his voice has certainly changed - or declined as you put it - it's not solely down to the lifestyle. Age will change a voice naturally, but its his singing style more than anything. He was wrenching out vocals over a wall of sound show after show, and it was clearly going to strain and wear down his vocal chords. So basically, he gave it all in those early years, but soldiered on - which I find quite admirable!
wow I had no idea he could sing falsetto still! Also yeah man, I love Liam and he's probably my favorite front man ever. However, he clearly wasn't the same in 2009 vs 2000 (although I still loved watching him), but I think he's back to like 2002 form if his recent live appearances are any indication.
Vseslav Botkin Yeah I agree. There were strong shows vocally in 2009/9 but he was struggling for quite a few. I think the two biggest losses are power and the ability to recover between shows - but again, its no surprise at this stage. To be fair, I haven't heard him sing a falsetto live since the early 90s, so you're right in that respect. I think he still could with practice and care but I can't see it happening anytime soon! And yeah, recent live performances have sounded good - for the most part he sang quite well live for Beady Eye too.
it's the higher register of your voice, but it's different than just singing higher as it's almost like a different part of your voice entirely. An example would be the "you and I are gonna live forever" part of Live Forever or the "and I /waaant/ you to know" from She's Electric.
No se como la gente es ridicula y pretende que él va a cantar de la misma forma que cuando tenia 20 años ..ahora tiene 45 y aun sigue siendo maravilloso
hahaha...just did the same..it was on loop , thought it was finished, im in the kitchen making tea...then suddenly ..''MAAAAA YY..BE..'' ffs. spilt the milk!
What a beautiful thing. Liam Gallagher's voice was just incredible, so much so that he is my inspiration. It is a pity that his voice has aged badly and is not as conserved as Noel's.
To be fair, most singing voices gradually get worse over time. Not to mention, Liam has Hashimoto's disease, which probably affected his singing voice and made it age terribly.
Maybe I don't really wanna know How your garden grows 'Cause I just wanna fly Lately, did you ever feel the pain In the morning rain As it soaks you to the bone? Maybe I just wanna fly Wanna live, I don't wanna die Maybe I just wanna breathe Maybe I just don't believe Maybe you're the same as me We see things they'll never see You and I are gonna live forever I said maybe I don't really wanna know How your garden grows 'Cause I just wanna fly Lately, did you ever feel the pain In the morning rain As it soaks you to the bone? @li4m Liam used to sing those parts but since his voice has been deteriorating (Or he probably disliked singing those falsettos) Noel picked up the high notes somewhere after Morning Glory came out
@frediche Well.... You're asking for a lot here. He's not using a doubler, he literally sang the vocals twice. Also, the distortion isn't in the actual track, the person who uploaded this just messed up on the audio levels when making the video. The only thing that really seems constant is the reverb.
i dunno if im deaf but i´m hearing: baby I just wanna breathe baby I just don't believe baby you're the same as me...... just in those parts and the ones repeating later in the last chorus
Liam actually double tracked his vocals, like litterally doubled them. You can hear on certain words how he doesn't quite match the other take perfectly. This is a good thing though. Because its the subtle differences between the two takes which gives it it's stereo, chorus sounding effect. Added to that is a fair amount of reverb, probably a plate reverb effect. As with all vocals, you'll have multiple different compressors shaping the overall sound. You'll probably have a multiband compressor on each vocal take. This is to "even out" Liams delivery, which because of his scouse accent can sound way too dynamic. After the 2 takes are mixed down to one track they probably then added more compression to further squash down those dynamics, then the whole song was "brickwall limited" using, you guessed it, another compressor which boosted the track as much as possible to the point where it began to peak right bellow the level at which clipping starts to happen
"Put two sugars in your tea"
Chris Patterson me and my mate sing that cos we both do 😆
Simply the perfect rock voice... He could reach every single note. Just Amazing
+jemimallah yes, but if you listen to him in some acoustic video or audio,
+jemimallah you can hear clearly his real voice (when it was at the top). I think it was really incredible

It's not autotuned bro. Double tracking may give you that feeling.
His voice was angelic on Definitely Maybe. It gradually got deeper on each album after that.

Liam did the backing vocals on the single, Noel took them over live when Liam started to struggle with his falsetto.
