Noel Gallagher wouldn’t have been able to write “Don’t look back in Anger” if he had known that it would become, over the course of 30 years, a staple for football stadiums, weddings, funerals, commemorations…

I love Noel’s ambition.. “ we came that close to being as big as the Beatles, but we lost momentum “ respect ✊
Nah not close
Beatles was super huge in US even they haven't been there
Once they arrive states it was wild
Oasis still struggles with the fan base in US
Paul said we r bigger than Jesus
I don't think Noel dare said that
@@sampahtetapsam21 think it was John Lennon who said we are bigger than Jesus. Or more popular. The Beatles were the Beatles. Oasis were Oasis. Personally I felt John Lennon was the only special one. The rest came along for the ride.. Same as Noel was the only talented one.
please tell me what interview is that please
Delusions.
@@sampahtetapsam21 That's it mate, they struggled in US, but they got a chance to hit big there but they lost it. Liam went back to UK in the middle of their MG US tour (which would've been very important), they also messed up their MTV Awards presentation and last but not least: Be Here Now wasn't as great as WSTMG (even though I like the album). If Be Here Now were as great as WTSMG, and trust me it had the potential to (b-sides, better production and better length), they would've have been a big hit in US, though I don't think they would be as big as The Beatles, but I think they would've deserrved to be called the 90's Beatles (for its success not music, please don't get it wrong)
Noel doesn't give himself enough credit for the lyrics but this song is genuinely one of the best stuff he's ever done. Great video btw🙏🙏
Thanks!!
Not really because he made bullshit lyrics
@@jamiehogg8989 There's more to Noels lyrics than he lets on. Especially the early stuff.
Noel is totally right about life. The point is the journey, and if you don't get that, you've missed the point. Even if you get to where you wanted to be, you'll get restless and want to be somewhere else so just enjoy the journey.
Noel is becoming so much more engaging as he grows older.
Yeah
He absolutely is...
Oh he's GREAT at interviews these days.
Bro actually made an Oasis video…
I guess it was about time! 😁
what the fuck do you mean?
what does anything you say mean
@@LukSter18998 That sounded quite... mean.
@@LukSter18998 Why the f-ck are you so mean? 😂
@@markjohnston8989😂
It's impossible to not be inspired by the Gallagher brothers noel is a huge inspiration in my musical journey
👍
I often think the lyrics in D'You Know What I Mean:
I met my maker, I made him cry
And on my shoulder he asked me why
His people won’t fly through the storm
I said “Hey, listen up now, they don’t even know you’re born”
Is Noel writing about meeting with his dad as an adult.
Interesting
One of the best videos I've ever seen, congratulations
Thank you!!
It's classic song and even though Don't Look Back in Anger is a beloved song, I think it's still underrated and overlooked to degree. There's something about it that just evokes a feeIing and that's what great art does. Always catch myself singing it randomly even if I haven't listed to the recording in awhile
👌
Beautiful video
Edit: holy shit, I didn’t expect this to make me cry by the end of it. Incredible stuff man
Amazing, thank you!!
8:19 my country Argentina 🇦🇷
Been to River Plate stadium and told my friends I believed Noel almost cried. I also sang throughout the whole song too! Most epic live version
🎉great🎉
I can still listen to this song 30 years on and it means something different to me each time depending on the stage of life I’m at. Amazing
Same
The lyrics and chords give a similar feeling to watching a Dennis villeneuve movie. The editor of his movies calls his images “brain stemmy”. It invokes stimulus at the back of your brain in a way that can’t be articulated with words, but it’s from a place that’s deep and familiar. The flow and vague, yet relatable, lyrics with the notes (I’m not a music theory guy) of the song give those same feelings.
Amazing, I'm a huge Villeneuve fan, I get what you mean
the ending made me cry, didn't expect it. amazing video and such an emotional story of how a song unites peoples and nations, on good and bad days. "Enjoy the scenery on the way"...
Thanks a lot!
Oasis might not have the same legacy as the beatles but guaranteed some of their songs will live forever. I've sang wonderwall and champagne supernova to American audiences and they've dang back like it's Hey Jude
Great sing alongs
This song is definitely my song. Somehow i've always felt it as my resume, and I still can't explain why. You have crafted a video worthy of the song. My most sincere and humble thanks and congratulations.
One of the greatest songwriters of our generation: "Yeah i just write a line and then the next line has to rhyme" lol
Great vid, very fluid editing, high quality stuff
Thanks for creating this, interesting watch and a heartfelt ending. :) No surprising message, but you can tell that it was felt and thus it connects.
A friendly reminder that Melissa Lim told him to not look back in anger when he was in SF
I think he hasn't admitted as much, because that experience was very neat and dear to him.
I think she said she wants to Talk Tonight
Awesome video. Great production and clip selection! Noel is the goat. DLBIA is a massive song.
Thanks!!
Wow, fantastic video, editing and all that...and cheers to Noel - what a absolutely great character progression. - from a lifelong Beatles and Oasis fan
Thanks!!
Thank you for this video. Brilliantly done.
Thank you!!
Most amazing experience in Liverpool, late night, drinking binge, after fish and chips, heard the chords to this song coming from across the street in a local pub. I grabbed my girls hand we ran across the street into the bar and the entire pub sang the words to this song. I jumped up on the bench and sang my head off with the crowd. It was a magical zen moment, one I will never forget.
Cool!!
I still love that album so much.
I can see another dimension after years by years being love to this songs. And maybe dimension is the canon of dimension that this song try to deliver.
You messed up , yes you cant do anything with that. But thats life. Keep moving on, dont regret it, lesson learned and dont look back in anger. Thankyou sir🙏
Great video mark
I love oasis and I went to river plate stadium, where the famously don't look back in anger took place.
Thanks for the video
That's awesome! And thank you!
A masterpiece.
Don’t usually comment on videos but what a piece of art. Thank you. Ending is phenomenal
Thanks!!
Noel rates bono so highly it’s so cute to see
Just had a cup of tea and watched the whole video, great work dude
Ps: the best crowd in the world (argentina) is in the video!
Thank you!! And for your continued support over the years 😃 immediately recognized your username, thanks so much
That was Beautiful, Noel is Beautiful, life is beautiful. Enjoy life everyone..
By featuring plenty of ascending 5ths just like any other anthem
Oasis is one band that is different than all the others. They tap into a different level of people's emotions and feelings. Noel was correct in the beginning of this video when he said they were nearly as big as the Beatles.
Two videos in a month? You are spoiling us
Thanks, yeah I was inspired to try increasing my output!
Spoiling us so much we'll have to start calling him the Ferrero Rocher guy.
Great job. This was very well done.
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful. Subscribed
Thank you!
Biblical video man, love the editing. Stay young
Thank you!
Nice brother moment
Awesome context to get the bigger picture. Nice.
Thanks
Awesome video. Thanks.
Thank you!
Great stuff. Keep it up
Thank you!!
Fantastic video ❤
Thank you!!
Always reminds me of a "Song for Suzie" by Head, Hands and Feet with guitarist Albert Lee...especially the rift @11:40. Both quality songs.
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Great video 🎉❤🎉❤
Thanks a lot!
great video !
Thank you!
Marc I love you man but I cannot as a proud Mancunian allow a red-coloured stadium to be on the thumbnail... ;)
Ohh well spotted, I should've used the Manchester City logo/colors instead! Cheers
I like the modern day philosophical Noel. Talks a lot of sense.
Yeah
Amazing video … 👏🙏
Thanks!!
incredible video
Thank you!!
Still a banger of a song today, that is.
👌
Great video.
Thank you!
Where was you for the Manchester concert ??

Eish, I’m in tears
Amazing!!
best oasis song!
✌️
It’s madness how good they were. It shows how far music has slipped.
Awesome era for rock music
awesome
Thanks!!
Aw you got me here bruv
😅
Liam is a legend
Yup
Where you get that Aimee Mann bit? Do i have to dig out that defo maybe dvd from like 2004🕸
Look for "Noel Gallagher on Musical Theory" on youtube
I know who Sally is, she was my daughter who had special needs. We lost her whilst on holiday. She had a fit went into a coma and faded away in Newcastle hospital. When I hear this song I always think of her, sometimes sing along, sometimes cry.
they couldve got back together after the bombing to really show the people that music and events bring people together but they didnt, whether their relationship is a stunt or not they shouldve came back together after the bombing, probably the closest to a reunion
That would've been amazing
good job
Thanks!!
That song being used in response to a terror attack typified the limp British response to our country being abused and subverted by Islamist.
Just an acceptance.
No one will ever come close to the Beatles. It's impossible because they were the first to do it like that, they were original and most importantly, it was a DIFFERENT TIME ! And Oasis weren't famous worldwide while the Beatles were known in every corner of the earth. The closest anyone has came to Beatles was ABBA.. but that was a different genre..
comparing ABBA to the beatles is the most insane thing i’ve ever heard
@@lucasbrown4186 its actually not far fetched - but to OP, if you just take UK into account, Oasis were the only band since the Beatles to unite the nation, albeit briefly (1995-1996)
Oasis is an AI trained music generator with The Beatles songs, it was impossible not to get memorable songs from that
Yet Noel could be be bothered to turn up to the Tribute gig in Manchester to play it live because his brother was there!!
Anyways here’s wonder wall brother
how sweet to be an idiot by Neil Innes is the original song
please a slowdive video maybe about Alison
Oasis will always be my favorite band
Oasis or Blur?
Oasis: Like
Blur: Comment
Sally cinnamon…another pinch by Noel 👍
Fav oasis song
Thanks bro ✌️
❤
I used to not like Oasis and the Gallanger brothers. I now have a new respect for them.
What a beautiful way to cut together all the narratives to celebrate this 'meaningless' song
Sally is Noel. His dad beat him up all the time in the house next to the fireplace. Don't look back in anger...
😢
❤❤😊
please tell me the interview ini 0.20 video please
The one where he says they were almost as big as The Beatles? That's an Oasis interview from 2000, Tokyo tour
@@3minuteswithMarc do you have the link to the video?
Three minutes with Marc but it’s 12 minutes. See ya.
I mistook you for the other Marc that has already made an Oasis video earlier this month
Funny coincidence!
8:35 : they've attached their own meaning to it
Yes!!! Yes!!! F-cking yes!!! 😂 English is not my first language so I was struggling to understand what's the meaning of the song 😂 Like... First I thought the guy truly cares about her. Like "Don't look back in anger, keep your peace, sweety", some kind of like "Wild world" of Mr. Big. Then it was like he doesn't really care about her, like " go find a better place to play with people hearts!" 😂 And some other many many things... 😂 And who is actually saying "Don't look back in anger" there? 😂😂 Lol.. 😅
Or probably it's not actually the "language barrier" they talked about, but my shitty English level... 😂
There is God and there is the peaky blinders plus the stone fukin roses and oasis happy Mondays Rkid lucky boro fc liveforever, fukin mad for it movie x🎉
Why did you change the colour of his eyes in your thumbnail?
It's just a UA-cam thing where you make the eyes pop out more but I might have overdone it!
“We came close to being the Beatles.” Man, the delusion is strong with this one.
Este canal es incrible.
Thanks!!
Cool Video 🫶🏻
Thank you 🙏
Its a little known fact that Liam was born without eyebrows. Luckily his brother had enough for eight people and a transplant was completed in their teenage years. During surgery the doctors made a huge mistake and, in addition to the brows, they gave Liam an extra asshole
I hate when Oasis is compared to The Beatles. Not even f close.
But agree that this song is something else, it's one of those that transcends reality.
Well Noel's a huge fan so I guess it's what he was aiming for 🤷♂️
It even hit anime, lol
Are you talking about Look Back?
@@bavarianplaguedoctor yeh
@@victorkaranja1420 it’s a pipe dream but I hope the use the song in the movie. But that would really make any sense
Jeeezus. The guy fires his drummer. The guy fires his good friend who was the back-up guitarist/keyboardist. They were in the band before him. And he compares himself to the Beatles? ?///?
They had about 3 great songs. The Beatles had about 50 great songs.
Honestly, champagne supernova is the only Oasis song I still love, and listen to.
