  • Let’s look at the Govee Immersion RGBIC LED TV Backlight. I’m going to show you what’s in the box and share my thoughts on the subject in the little time that I managed to experiment with this amazing kit from Govee.
    But before we start, let me say that I am not sponsored by Govee (yet HAHA) and if it seems like I am using big words when I am talking about them and their technology that is because I really like their products.

    If I have a 65’ TV, should I get the 55-65’ version or should I get the larger 75-85’ version to ensure it goes around the whole tv?

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому +1

      In my opinion you should get the 55-65’ version. If you get the bigger version you will end up with strips longer that your tv and you can’t cut them because each module it’s calibrated to have it’s own place on the perimeter of your TV so you will have the same problem as I did with the 55-65’ on a 43’ tv. So, my advice is to get the 55’-65’ model. You will have to place it a bit farther away from the edge of your tv but the led offer plenty of light. Good luck and enjoy!

    Hi, Do you know the lengths of the 4 LED strips for the 75 to 84 inch one? All I can find is the lengths of the smaller kit your purchased.

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому

      I took a look at their site and I found the same information relating more info about the smaller kit. I will have a guess and say that by looking at the full length of the bigger set 16,4 inches which would be 5m and standard 75inches TV sets which is somewhere around 1m x 1,6m the sections of the larger kit should be 100cm on the sides and 150cm for top and bottom. The second guess would be 90cm x 160cm (each 3 led module is 10cm in length so each length will have to be divided by 10) . To be sure you can ask a question in the Gove app or on a Facebook group. Users are very eager to help out. I hope this helps.

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому +1

      So I did a bit more digging and the strips are 2 x 2.95 (90cm) and 2 x 5.25 (160 cm) for the 75- 85 kit.

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому

      I am sorry for your trouble with the lights. You might have a broken connection on the point from where the LED’s stop working. I am guessing one of the wires got lose because the led strip doesn’t usually break from bending it. You will need to figure out which one of the connections is bad and desolder it if you have a soldering iron.

    • @LifeHackerMax

      That is not an option with the Govee Immersion as the software knows the exact number of chips on each strip and if you cut off from the modules you will render the system not working properly.

    Can’t you just cut the strip on the 3 connector lines like most other strips?

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  2 роки тому

      Yes! You can actually cut the strip like all other strips and separate each module. Not everyone knows this. The scheme is that if you leave out any section you will also lose sections in the app when you animate the strip. It doesn’t split the animation sequence between the remaining LED’s.

  • @10403mike
    @10403mike Рік тому

    Can you just overlap the LED strip for a 43inch? Or wrap around the corner twice?

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому

      No. Each segment has to be in a specific place in order to work properly. The only way to hack this is to make the gap between each LED smaller and all gaps the same. Otherwise the colors of the LED’s will not match the colors on the TV. I hope I explained this right.

      Hey! I have no problems with my LED’s to this day since I installed them. Usually if the installation goes well there shouldn’t be any problems for a long time. The issues people talk about are related with the system being connected to another user and some resolve the problem by contacting Govee staff. Another problem you might encounter when installing the strips is to make some sort of disconnection on the strip if you force the strip when bending it. Depending on where the strips get disconnected it might be easy to fix with a soldering iron. Best advice I can give you is not to force the bends too close to the chips or resistors. You can try again now. I edited the link to my google drive and tested it. Thank you for bringing it up. 🙏🏽 drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zTMYl-fGeVyWNcUNV4v4XQ_wtjwsBB0K

    Hi. I have question for you. What can I do to make leds turn off, when the screen is Black? When I play some games with the dark scenes, leds are in white or other color. Please help.

      Sadly I don’t know any way to go about this issue. When the screen is black the camera picks up whatever is reflected in the screen. My LED’s also go blue when the screen is black.

      Check out the description. You can find 2 links to Amazon. The second is for you I think.

    You said you can connect to Siri. Are you sure about that?

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому

      Yes! I did it on camera in the RGB unboxing video. On the main window (where you select your device) in the upper tab you have a menu named Commands. There you can record a command and link it with Siri via Shortcuts if I remember correctly.

    Got this coming today and I just want to say the blocks worried me and the idea of making a video of the squares instead is genius why didn’t they just do that?

    • @LifeHackerMax
      @LifeHackerMax  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! 🙏🏽 I believe they are still in development. There were little details they didn’t take into account (the size of the TV the kit was designed for was not written on the box) and they did afterwards (the T2 immersion system has that on the box). Nonetheless I was really impressed they added all you need in the box.
