I wanted to expand on my reply to the recent comment about how I am teaching people wrong by teaching them to turn from the hips instead of from the feet. In my reply, I mentioned that for beginners, I feel the hardest thing for them to do is connect the hips, torso and arms in their movement. I think for a beginner who can't do those things first, teaching them to turn from the feet isn't as productive as first teaching them to connect and be still. But I do want to acknowledge that the point made is absolutely correct and it is imperative that after you learn to connect and be still, then you have to be able to turn from your feet. I have a lot of content that doesn't make it onto UA-cam. I livestreamed an analogy of your body being a 3 section screwdriver that needs to be connected to work and the handle of the screwdriver is your feet. I don't know if this will ever make it onto UA-cam, but I made a highlight of it from my Twitch VOD so I can link it here if anyone is interested in that analogy: www.twitch.tv/videos/1226005197
@Central to the practice of Push Hands is the pursuit of balance and harmony. Balance refers to maintaining stability and equilibrium while interacting with the opponent. This involves transferring and redirecting the force applied by the opponent to avoid being unbalanced or pushed off balance. Balance is not just physical but also mental and emotional, as practitioners strive to remain calm, centered, and grounded in the face of attacks.
Your descriptions are always superb. Totally understandable. I still don't know how you do it, but your voice is incredibly soothing, it's almost hypnotic. Getting people to relax and learn is definitely your super power. Your videos are so relaxing that they increase one's health just by listening. Thanks. Great video.
Perfect teaching with detailed explanation ! I can feel the heat flown from my abdomen through both arms to the palms and ended at the tips of fingers, from following your first 5 mins instruction. 🙏
The laser imagery is so helpful! And I so know what you mean about the mind interfering. I play piano and am constantly amazed how I can only play a difficult memorized passage if I don't think about it!
Great great feeling thanks I followed you and it was super great feeling I learnt once again so much from you and believe me I am doing Tai Chi and Qiqong for 15th year now daily without missing a day or night. You are amazing teacher your voice is so calming sweet and instruction simple THANK you so much
In my short forty years in Tai Chi (started at 48 years old) the biggest mistake made is not understanding YinYang as a one;not duality yin/yang or worse yet Yin and Yang as opposites.Understanding this is crucial in movement as there is always yinyang ☯️ through out the form and in truth there is only one movement in the form 108 or 24 or 36 or 48 one continuous movement broken down in to 108 postures much like a whole chicken is broken down into pieces so you can eat them
@@NinjatoSama I was lucky to discover Alan Watts before I found Tai Chi. Once I was taking my class to a demo we were giving in Phoenix. As we were waiting to enter the hall a member from a local TAICHI group ask me who was my teacher I said without hesitation Alan Watts He ssid I never heard of him. I said Keep looking. A few years later at a workshop I saw him again. He said thanks he understood after reading the Watercourse way.

Definitely 💯 We are all beginners always on this journey. The longer I study, the more I realize how much more I don't know. This is why those of us who embark on this journey stay on it for life 😁
