    I love the point you made that most of our real-life conflict is verbal or social, not physical conflict--a VERY important point.

    Top tips, I love your knee work, spot on as some don't understand leg vulnerability to attack especially from behind from bad posture that can become ingrained if not corrected . The back leg rear knee should never get broken from the blind spot lower knee attack just a slight turn of the knee turn forward saves the joint from a dreadful long term damage break in real combat.

      @@curtis5985 yes! Many of the in-person classes I teach in the school are also available to attend online. My recent UA-cam videos and shorts are all from recordings from the classes. You can see our class schedule on our site: aipingtaichi.com. We use a system called Punchpass for class reservations and payments. The system shows which classes are available to attend online and when you reserve your spot, you will automatically see the Zoom link in the class details and you will also get the link in an email. I also make recordings of the classes available for you to rewatch and practice for 2 week after class. You can get a one week trial pass for $1 to try any and all of our classes for a week: aipingtaichi.punchpass.com/passes/143040. Hope to see you online in class!

      @@AipingTaiChi Sifu, I looked on line at your website and am interested in the Yang 108. I don't see it listed as multi-week course (like 24 weeks to learn it). How would I approach signing up to learn the entire Yang 108 Long Form. TIA

    Another great explanation of movement adaptation to external forces. I've been practicing taijiquan for three and a half years and have gone through a process of learning the eight, sixteen, twenty four, thirty two, fourty two and the long forms of the Yang style. One area that have not included in practice is pushing hands and as a consequence, I now see, where my practice is deficiently at fault. Although I come from a background of martial arts and my learning process of taiji was facilitated by it, nevertheless, luck of practicing in pushing hands is evident in understanding the values of force and deflection etc. Thank you once more, your guidance is invaluable ...

    • @AipingTaiChi
      @AipingTaiChi  3 роки тому +3

      Thank you so much ❤️ Yes, so often Tai Chi is taught like an external martial art and you just learn form choreography after choreography. Our master's approach was so different. In our school you don't even learn any forms until a good 4-6 months of basic movements training and then spend the next year just on that one 10-movement form. We won't even start a student on the long form until at least 3 years of study or when principles are solid. We actually lose many students because they want to learn many forms quickly but we don't want to do teach choreography, we want to teach understanding. Thank you so much for your words of support and encouragement 🙏

      It is aiming for, it takes time to learn. For me personally and at a tender age of sixty four, the challenge was to get back to physical as well as mental fitness. Memorizing all these forms, the names of every move, is a challenge nonetheless. Taiji Quan is a lifelong learning art form. I can go on and on about my personal experience and involvement with this martial art form, but I'll say for certain, it's very addictive. Thank you for helping and contributing to our learning curve.

    Can't remember the exact video of yours, but the music in there was beautiful and really good for tai chi or meditation.
    Can you send some links to the music or at least the names of the songs and artists so we can find them to listen to while practicing?
    I especially love the higher pitch bamboo flute (dizi?) Music. That instrument is like medicine. It just helps me relax and move my body better. I have trouble finding genuine music like this anywhere, including UA-cam. There's mostly just imitations that aren't even half as good.
    Appreciate your teaching and tutorials.

    Barely done any formal tai chi training but I do remember how much easier it was for some of the other [older] students to easily break my posture. My stuff doesn’t look as graceful because I’m not all bendy but I do a lot of qigong (started almost 2 years ago). I like to think my flexibility of mind is good even if my flexibility of my body hasn’t caught up yet.

    • @AipingTaiChi
      @AipingTaiChi  2 роки тому +1

      Flexibility in mind is just as important as flexibility of body. I've found that flexibility of body can be increased just through daily practice but an inflexible mind is much harder to change so you're ahead of the game :)
