Great video man! You play this way better than most other tutorials... especially playing the octave down at the 5th fret. The way you explain the strumming pattern is perfect for beginners and novices alike. The staccato comes naturally if you listen to the song, but I have above average hand size but on my MIM Fender player plus (olympic pearl SSS) it has a 12" fretboard and really makes you stretch compared to my Epiphone Les Paul Custom, which makes my hands feel too big and I have to learn to play differently because the fretboard seems so much smaller but it's so much easier to play certain songs. I think Scott Lucas modded his guitar pups because he didn't have a bass player? Great song and Great tutorial man!! Reminds me of being a teenager in the mid-late 90's. Had a Marshall DSL and squire Strat when I was 16-17. Bought it off my brothers friend ($300 all in including cables) and I got my first "real" gf around '98 and didn't realize she wanted to exchange presents and I was like 17 or 18?? I pawned everything plus my FX69 GRUNGE pedal (bought that brand new, can't remember what I paid... but I want to say it was over $100 in '96-97?) I got maybe $100-$150 total at most, but it was an independent music shop and the dude was like 10yrs older and knew I was young, dumb and desperate for cash. Think I had just turned 18 so it was '98 then, idk... man time flies right?! We only had tabs from the dial-up internet Lol. Maybe you could do Santeria next? Brad Nowell is the reason I started playing guitar (gave it up wish I would've kept playing) at 16. I just bought a Les Paul special ii ($170 on sale) last year and practiced everyday and in 3/weeks I could play the solo at %60 speed, but now I'm at like %85 and I can hear and play matching most of his style with the vibrato. But chords are still hard (which seems weird when ppl watch me play that Santeria solo) and I still mute strings on my C/chord lol? Couple guys at work heard me talking about my guitar, one played bass and another drums so we jam live and it's the most fun I've had... and I'm in my early 40's lmao! Maybe think about Sublime like "Santeria" (arpeggio on that kills me, but that riff is epic) and maybe "Pawnshop" yeah? Great video bro!
sounds like the chords are played staccato and that part around the 7th fret is an octave of sorts? I've only been playing for little over a year but probably like 6/months of actual play total. Used to jam with a drummer and a bass player from work. This song wouldve killed
So everything is tuned down a half step? I'm a new player so I'm learning... great video though. I heard Scott Lucas had a modified guitar pickup due to the lack of bass player

Excellent ❤️😎
This is one of the greatest albums from the 90’s, along with “you’d prefer an astronaut” by Hum
