The only thing id change would be the water bars angle of attack inside trommel, great looking machine btw, i own quite a lot of your products as i find them to be masterfully designed, great video sir!!!
Nice trommel Mark. Seems to be running smoothly. Water pump drive is a cool innovation. Also like the bucket holder over the feeder hopper too. Thanks for sharing !
Good eye it does make a difference it you rotate the spray bars slightly. Wen we run the trommel with gas engine it turns one way when we turn it with the 12 Volt DC system it turns the other way. So we just set it down as a compromise for the video however I would adjust it for the drive system.
The trommel comes with flipper bars that help lift and wash the material. You can remove them and move them around. We found in some areas they caused a few problems and some areas they worked great
When we use the water motor on our Trommel, we use a filter. The filters do have to be kept clean, or the flow will be restricted. I have over 50 machines out in the field for the last several years, and not a single pump has worn out, to my knowledge. And honestly I would have expected some failers on the water motor pumps. We do your Teflon seals, stainless steel bearings, etc. Our personal Trommel has something like 100 hours on it and it was running strong.
I know just the place to put this trommel through its paces, lots of clay and heavies. This trommel is on my list of equipment to add to my arsenal, great product.
Great equipment! One suggestion would be to add a few bars inside the trommel's barrel to agitate the material more rather than let is slide as pockets of dirt like it currently is. This will also help keep the drum from collecting moss due to the more severe vibrations caused by the churning material
Keene Trommel Test # 8 Well we are just about ready for production and our last test was flawless. Both the water drive motor and the 12 volt system work great. The Water drive motor is my favorite due to the fact you can use it like a high banker and relocate the machine hundreds of feet away from the river. Providing you have the right Keene pump and some oversized pressure hose to keep the friction loss to a minimum. The 12 DC version is great for working near the waters edge and the silent operation is ideal for family settings and also when you want to maintain a low profile or work in areas that do not allow gas engines. The Trommel does not come with a sluice box however most any sluice will work with our sluice box extension. The Trommel provides the ideal flow for a sluice with a highly classified material and a controlled water flow. However nothing works as well as the A52S Sluice box. The prices are a little higher than we hoped for however in Biden economy everything is so expensive. Raw materials plastics platting steal aluminum and going up every day. "Lets Go Brandon" KT10DC 12 pumps and 12 Drive system is $2195.00 This comes with the 2 pumps so all you will need is sluice box sluice extension and battery. The KT10WD Water drive motor is $2295.00. You will need the sluice box, Sluice extension. A good quality pump that has good head pressure like our P90GH motor and pump package. The P90gh provides up to 100 GPM and the head lift is up to 160 foot head. Trash pumps or semi trash pumps may not work due to the low head lifts. The Sluice box extension $149.95 Comes equipped with Miracle matting heavy expanded metal classifier screen and rubber flap.
Can't wait for this to be available! This is looking great! I'd likely be using this with my Mini-Max lower portion. Will you guys consider making the feeder top to fit the Mini-Max platform?
Seems kind of strange how the water inside of the trommel isn't spraying the material going through it. Just as well get something else to get it completely washed. Probably just a minor adjustment for it. I'm surprised that you didn't notice that.
The trommel does contain 2 flipper bars that help break up the material. We had 4 at one time however with some of the belt slippage issues we had it was causing the drum to stall. We are working on the drum mold and have eliminated the drum slippage so we could go back to 4 at least for a test
Did u guys end up putting an adjustable flow gate in the hopper between the trommel to regulate material? this would enable more material to be dumped quicker wouldnt it?

@@KeeneEngInc That is not a bad price considering we are in the worst economy with inflation being like we have never seen before. That is a good price point. The next comparable trommel sells for about the same range and is a smaller trommel size.
I think it's going to work real good for you I don't know how much you going to charge for it about your little mini School sluice box and I haven't got the either yet cuz the waters been kind of high here in Indiana I want to try a couple days has the water goes down but I'm interested in if it's not too expensive I'll find that out when you tell the prices do you have a nice day and I'm going to enjoy watching it when you show your next Dale
You can adjust the spray bars by loosening a hose clamp rotate the drum spray bar into the most appropriate position for your material then tighten the clamp and go back to work. In This video we just set the spray bars down since we used both the water motor and the 12 volt system. The 12 volt system tuns one way the water motor turns the other direction so it was easier to set it in the middle for the video.
Any idea what effect running the trommel at twice the speed would have ? I think it would push the material through twice as fast so I figure the rocks won't be as well washed. But that could be countered by lowering the pitch. But that would slow the speed through the trommel , so then nothing has been gained. I'm gonna run my trommel at twice the speed of yours and just see what difference it makes
Running the drum faster would make material pass quicker however there would down side. At the current speed the material is washed clean. Any faster would not work in some conditions. The water supply and sluice box would be out of balance. If you added more water and a larger sluice box you might be ok.
Just call us up on the phone and ask for mark or Patrick Keene and we can help. I have not set it up on the web site just yet, waiting to finish cad drawings and instructions. We just sold out but should have some back in stock in a week or so plus a few miner upgrades. 1800392GOLD 18189930411. Might be my imagination the rock is one side of the trimmer if you point water jets at the rocks on the side you would have better wash to the rocks. If nothing else add touch more water
We know our prices are on the higher end sometimes; however, in the modern world of the Biden economy and running a company with employees' taxes overhead, we must keep the doors open. You cannot compare us to all these new China imports. What you get is a better product than anything out there by far. I had a chance to run several trommels, and our trommel outperformed all of them by leaps and bounds. We are lighter, have higher capacity, and have way better technology. Plus, it was super quiet. Good designs and the best technology can cost a little more. Plus, you have a support system. If something goes wrong, we can back you up. Look you can tell by the constant testing and still making changes down the round.
As far as I can see, Keene is good, but the prices need to be lowered. The average poor person cant afford one. Its discrimination on a financial level. Then if you can afford one, spend the next 2 years running dirt just to pay for it.

Hey Gene! Looks like it's doing an awesome job with the material.....DW40
Great day testing fam. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out!!!
Great job only thing I would do is rotate the spray bars so they’re spraying more on the material is riding on the side of the drum
I agree if we only ran with the one drive I would set the spray bars more off to the side slightly. the DC turns the opposite way

We can add more water by the spray bars or the feed hopper we find a balance of both works. The gas engine can really put the pressure to both

I am sending out the first one to my friend P Nix to test in some harsh clay type conditions
Good Eye the spray bars to rotate you have to loosen up a clamp then they rotate easily
What are your thoughts about adding grousers inside the trommel to give the barrel some added washing action?
Or tumbling of the rocks a bit more, would that impact your feed rate?
