- Bushcraft solo overnight in the wild. In my opinion this is the optimal setup for one Lavvu Poncho. Worked like a charm. Some small signs of leakage where the branch lifted the back, no problem in this weather but if there would have been rain and high winds I suggest small sticks attaching the same way at two anchor points instead of one long stick across .
Im constantly trying to question how I make videos. In every new video I'm trying to do something different. It can be content or just tweaking a color profile. A lot of people told me they want to see more what I do out there. More gear etc. So in this video I'm showing more what I do. So tell me what you think. Is showing me packing a sleeping bag boring?
The bacon wrapped chicken leg was SO good! No spices just a few slices of bacon wrapped around the leg attached with small sticks.
As always, all material for crafting brought to the location and not harvested on site.

At this moment, you feel that you are alive, you are alive now, you listen to your breath, your heart, Nothing can replace these feelings. You are cleansed of all that weighed on you yesterday. Just you and nature. And you're on your own. You're alive now, and that's all that matters. For this we go to the forest. To experience it, over and over again. Those who have experienced it will understand. Those who have not experienced it, still have everything ahead of them. Thank you for giving me this feeling. It's very interesting. It seems almost genetic, but it shouldn't be. I mean you understand that we like the sound and sight of water, because that's been important throughout our evolution as a species, but fire and rain drumming on our tents? Why should that be soothing?

my husband and i still do these trips we just dont walk as far out and we got a stool folds nicely so we can still walk back oh dont forget the hamock backs cant do the ground any more

Bushcraft is a skillset. It's not mandatory as a bushcrafter to go naked to the woods and trying to survive. To do that every week is a unrealistic fantasy. The way I see it, bushcraft skills make hiking and camping more efficient, lightweight and interesting... and not to forget FUN!.
Honestly mate keep doing what you do! The vast majority enjoy your content - pay no heed to the unhappy minority who will move on and find the next thing to be unhappy about. The rest of us enjoy it, keep it up!

May 2023, I just came across your video and really liked it, especially some of the Snow on the Sprucee views. It also took me back to October of 1974 where I headed out into the Adirondack Mountains for Six months. The first two weeks I lived under my Military Poncho until I built a Solid but small Lean-To which I lived in..Thanks for sharing.
Love the poncho shelters. Last winter(during my military service, in Estonia) we had to camp under poncho (like yours but a bit smaller, we call it poncho/biwy) for a night in -23 degrees. It was awesome experiece...cold as hell but awesome. Me and one other guy tied our ponchos together, so it had more room and was bit warmer with 2 people under there. Couple months before that we had a week long camp with ponchos (was kinda rainy). Since then Im a huge fan of that kind of camping.

Waking up, head on side on 'pillow' - cut to scenery - also on its side. Made me laugh out loud because of how many times I've seen that myself but how you are the first person I've seen actually show it on a video. Keep experimenting with the techniques man, great therapy and bringing back many excellent memories from my own camping past.

This was absolutely gorgeous and I'm glad you get the chance to do this and to include us in the adventure. I love going hunting and spending those hours just being one with nature. I can only imagine an overnight. I'd give it a try if ever the opportunity arose for an overnight trip.

Really liked your whole production. Good theme of shelter, fire sleeping etc. Loved the way you caught the snow falling, wind in the trees. Didn't like the blackouts to cuts.
