Bushcraft is a skillset. It's not mandatory as a bushcrafter to go naked to the woods and trying to survive. To do that every week is a unrealistic fantasy. The way I see it, bushcraft skills make hiking and camping more efficient, lightweight and interesting... and not to forget FUN!.

Brings back many memories when my buddies when out in the bush camping for a few days, we didn't talk much either. Each one of us had a job to do & we did it. The experience came in handy when I went out on a bivouac with the rest of the troops. Lot of bugs, skunks, key deer, snakes, but we made do.

So far I've only watched a few of your videos. Here's a summary of my assessment so far: 1. The settings are always peaceful and beautiful, and portrayed in a way that's much like what I see when I'm in such places (the spider webs, the moody scenery shoots). 2. The camp skills and equipment are always simple and elegant. 3. And when watching an entire video I tend to get HUNGRY.

Monster pike indeed! Congrats on a well-fought battle, he was having none of it until the very end. Lucky for him that he wasn't on the menu, eh? Getting cold up there too. We just had our first mid-30F night here in the Shenandoah Valley- my favorite time of year. Take care!
Awesome trip! Not sure if it was this video or your previous one I just watch, but OMG that bacon wrapped chicken leg looked to be cooked and crisped just perfectly. Wow! That must have been good. That has to be so satisfying after walking a long way, setting up camp, getting a fire ready, then cooking some really good eats, even home made bread. Awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Loved it!

A big ol' Northern Pike aka Jackfish, slough shark, gator. Believe it or not, they're pretty good eating. As long as you get them out of cold water, and they're no bigger than about a foot, and a half. Maybe two.
