When setting the program schedule, you can program four time periods each day, with different settings for weekdays and weekends.
Wake refers to the time that you wake up. Away refers to the time you expect to leave your house. Home refers to the time that you expect to return home. Sleep refers to the time that you generally go to bed.
Press the Select button to select the desired time period.
You will first be asked to set the heating schedule. Press the Select button. Press the Plus or Minus buttons to navigate to the desired time, then press the Select button. Press the Plus or Minus buttons to navigate to the desired temperature, then press the Select button. You will now be asked to set the cooling schedule. Follow these same steps to set each program setting and schedule.
If there are certain programmable settings that you want turned off, press the Plus button to navigate to OFF then press the Select button.
When you're done with your changes, press the Home button. Your changes will save and you will return to the home screen.
To override your program schedule, press the Plus button to navigate to the desired temperature. Press the Hold button add either a temporary hold or a permanent hold. Press the Cancel button to cancel any changes.

Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

from another commenter originally "In Perspective" ...this is important....Turns out the installer removed the PROG from the menu option. Honeywell instructed me to hold the MENU and the + button at the same time for 5 seconds, then you will get into the advanced menu. Select the 1st option (ISU) and then use the "+" key to change the 1 to 2. Then select home and it will save your changes. NOW, PROG will appear when you press the menu button. 🧐 after you et to the 2 from isu just hit home, ignore what comes after. see install booklet for more info.... its a good simple thermostat controller. take your time and read your manuals and watch the vids out there. there is nothing wrong with this thermostat. you do have to try to understand hierarchical menu interaction. one thing leads to another in a sequence. play around it will make sense.

    FIXES!
I see a lot of complaints about the fan not shutting off, not having a menu setting that would activate both the furnace and the A/C, etc.
Here's my experience. It may answer some of your questions.
A HVAC technician installed this thermostat in my home, replacing one (a different brand) that wasn't working any more.
There's an Owner's Manual, and an Installation Manual, in the box. The technician deliberately withheld the Installation Manual from us, saying that it's too complex for homeowners. I should've insisted. I'll put a link to a PDF of the Manual at the bottom of this comment.
We were unhappy with the thermostat control, and with the way the furnace / A/C was acting. But a few changes to the defaults in Advanced Settings (also known as Installer Setup options ... "ISU's"... in the Installation Manual) fixed all that. Accessing those is covered on pages 6 thru 9 of the Manual.
To enter the ISU Menu, do exactly what it says on Page 6. To save (rather than discard) your changes, exit the menu exactly as described.
    * We programmed a whole set of heating and cooling thresholds for all 4 parts of the day, and set the start times for each of the four parts of the day, in the regular Owner menu. But even though we wanted the same settings for every day of the week, we had to do it three times (once for weekdays, once for Saturday and once for Sunday) because the Installer default is 5-1-1 in ISU 120. That can be changed to 5-2 or to 7-day.
    * We had trouble with the fan never shutting off, in between cooling cycles. We never did make a change that I would've thought directly addressed that, but with the other changes we made (keep reading), it somehow got fixed.
    * The Owner's Manual said that Auto was a valid Mode, and showed it in a screenshot diagram, but it didn't show as an option on our screen. The only choices were Heat, Cool or Off. But this is fixable with ISU 300. Change it from Manual (0) to Automatic (1). Once you do that, Auto is a valid Mode. Activate Auto on the regular screen, and have a Schedule of heating and cooling thresholds entered, and you're all set. You can be away for however long, and it'll take care of itself. Cool the house during the day, and heat it at night, as necessary.
    * People were talking about the furnace or A/C gearing up and changing the temperature in advance of the time you'd programmed in. That's Adaptive Intelligent Recovery. If you don't want that, you turn it off with ISU 425. Change it from Yes (1) to No (0).
------ Note: DO NOT mess with ISU 205, in order to try to activate ISU 230 (or for any other reason). That's NOT how you fix the fan problem. If you have a forced air gas furnace or similar unit, the equipment (rather than the thermostat) DOES need to control the fan when you're in Heat mode. The fan needs to keep running for a while, in order to dispel the excess heat after a burn. I repeat... DO NOT change those settings. ------
    * After we re-programmed ISU's 300 and 425, and of course selected Fan Auto rather than Fan On, things worked correctly. The fan ran during cooling cycles, and shut off in between cycles.
    I hope this helps someone.

Not sure about the worst, but it's pretty pathetic. We got a new furnace, and for some reason the installers "gave" us this one. It's bigger and uglier than the one we had before and offers nothing that our previous one didn't have. The installers blathered something about "more programmable," but it offers 4 time periods per day, just like our old one. The ability to turn off one or two time periods isn't worth the lousy interface.

  • @housesnakemorphs

Every time I think I’ve finally programmed this thing, I find out I didn’t.
The weekly programming forces you to set a heat temperature and a cool temperature. In that order. For each of the 4 time periods. He really needs to explain what this means.
One would assume that would mean “start heating if thermostat is below this number” and then “start cooling if thermostat reaches above this number”
Set the program to heat 74 and cool 77. It’s now 69 degrees and it’s displaying “following schedule” and “cool” mode instead of heat, and it’s doing absolutely nothing.
If I click to change the mode to heat, then it will temporarily heat up until the house reaches that number then go back to “following schedule”
If you set it to cool mode, say 74 degrees, this thermostat will never put the heat on. So you’ll wake up to a 35 degree house. If you put it on heat mode 74 degrees, it will heat up to 74 and never turn the ac on, so you’ll come home to an 85 degree house.
I have lived with this for 6 months now. I have found no way to set this to just maintain one temperature or even a range of temperatures.
Teaching us how to press the buttons does not explain how to get the desired outcome at all.

Does the Honeywell have a CPH adjustment or a differential adjustment. I wish it would wait for 2-3 degrees of change before kicking on again.
For example, a thermostat with a +-12degree differential that is set at 70 degrees will turn an air conditioner on at 72degrees and off at 68 degrees.

Here is how I fixed my issue with the A/C not going below a certain degree or the A/c just off despite the Thermo being set for the temperature you wanted it. I removed it from the wall (just pull it off) removed the batteries until the screen was blank. I waited around 5-10 mins until it finally reset due to lack of power source. I turned it on and unlocked it (default password is 1234) once it was unlocked I did a normal set up. This turned on my A/c Unit and now running the proper degree.

    • @ormondbeachr1
      @ormondbeachr1 4 роки тому

update: so it worked for about 5 hrs before it went off again and wouldnt respond to the same method I did earlier. I turned off the power (circuit breakers) and turned it back on. It worked for about 30 seconds before turning off again. This told me that there are two things.... one there is a leak and the ice of the leak is cutting off air or freezing the unit, two the ducts are so dirty that air wont go through, or finally 3 the air filter is dirty and wont allow air through. Option 1 and 2 will require a tech, but try 3 by just removing the air filter and seeing if the A/c unit will turn on again. My problem was option 3.

Hello, new system for us and we can’t figure it out lol
Our stat keeps our a/c running continuously. No our fan is not on it’s set to auto.. temp is set to 74 and the temp is of course hot it’s like 88 feels like 89. But our in home temp gets higher than desired temp and refuses to drop to desired temp to shit the system off. Why does it do this? It feels comfortable but just won’t shut off. The in home temp (according to stat) will get almost 80 rather than drop to the set temp and shut off.
When it’s cold out our heat will run 2.5 mins and shut off for 4mins and that’s it’s continuous cycle.. not sure if that’s normal either.

Likewise, this keeps my furnace running way too much. There is no temperature swing differential, which, in my old drafty house, I need. Furnace guys installed this garbage and trashed my old one. I'm getting a Lux installed. They have battery issues but I can control the temperature swing and cycling of my furnace much better. Honeywells will cause equipment to short cycle. I had the HVAC guys lower the cycles per hour to 2 and it's still coming on 3 times. Absolute trash. These say they have a +/- 1 differential but it's more like 0.2-0.5. Insane unless you live in a shrink-wrapped house.

I pushed a lot of buttons, but the taxi came so I bagged it figuring that it would reset to the previous settings. Two weeks into the vacation, we were notified that the temp in our house was 40 degrees! We were able to get someone to reset the temp to 65. I had somehow changed the mode to AC!! If not for the temp warning that we got, all of our pipes would have frozen and burst, and our house would have been flooded for two weeks!!! I HATE, HATE, HATE this thermostat!! Horrible thermostat. Very confusing and keeps running even when you turn it off.

with some research I found this thermostat to be pretty simple once you get familiar with the interface. I am more interested in the advanced system settings in the ISU menu. I want to be as energy conservative and comfortable as possible.

Is there a way to permanently set it to 70 without having to change the cool-heat option?

I don't want to get familiar with the interface....I want it 5 degrees cooler NOW.....something I've been able to do with every other thermo....

Whether you like it or not will depend a lot on how tech savvy you are. Really isn't that complicated, once you get the hang of it. Excellent video, by the way.

I just got this new thermostat and it is a complete disaster!!!! This is very complicated when all I want is to have AC on. My house it’s about 90 degrees when it actually is on 69-70. Help.....🤔😫😫

I'm a renter, my landlord just replaced my old one with this. The installer set the date and time for me, and I set it to 62 when I go to bed, and 68 when I get up. That's all I need.
