I finally figured it out. Thanks to this video. If you use the + button to turn up heat it won't stay permanently unless you hit the hold button. No wonder I was cold again in the morning. Got it.
I am more confused than ever. I just want to turn on the heat and shut it off when I feel the house is warm enough. I could care less about the date, mode, and all the other buttons.
For those who want a simple thermostat (just -/+, no programming) here is what you do: Hold the "Menu" and "+" buttons together for about 5 seconds. A hidden menu will appear called "ISU". "Select" and "Back" control the top number, -/+ control the bottom number. You want to set it so that it reads 120 over 0. Press "Home" to save. Your T4 is now the simple version. You can select Cool/Heat, Fan On/Off, and -/+ only. No programming. To set it back, follow the steps to get to the ISU menu, and set it to 120 over 2, and you'll have a programmable thermostat again.
Roy thanks for the explanation, on the setup. They as all new items installed did not supply a operating manual. Cool On was flashing and I had to experiment to figure it out.

THANK YOU!!! One of these is installed in my apartment. It's hot outside here and it was still on heat. Apparently...we don't have air conditioning but I was able to exit the heat without having to call maintenance.

Installed this stat & all works well except when fan is set to the on mode the A/C will not cut off when desired temp is reached, keeps running but works great in the fan auto, whats wrong ?
Thats how it should be working when its on "On position" it will stay on no matter what , but if u put it on "auto" it will shutoff at the design temperature
I hate this thing. I don't feel that the "auto" feature is truly auto. Mine never turns off unless I manually turn it off. Once it gets to the desired temperature, it starts blowing cold air instead of just turning off. The customer service number & my HVAC guy have been useless. Did I say that I hate this thing????😫😫😫

Hi Joseph, Thank you for your question! Based on the manual the thermostat is designed to keep the house at the displayed temperature. Ex. I am having the same issue. Sometimes if u live in apartments they have them set where you cant turn them any lower than 70 and I liked mine on 69 it makes a difference in my house for some reason
Helpful video but I hate this thermostat so much. The furnace installer picked it. I just want to be able to adjust the heat or a/c as needed. Instead, I adjust the temperature, looks right but nothing happens.
I set the thermostat to 60°. It is showing that it's 86° currently. It's been stuck on that same number and the temperature is getting hot outside and it's getting even hotter inside. When it’s cold outside it drops the temperature and when it hot outside it raises the temperature. It’s driving me crazy and it’s not serving it’s purpose of heating and cooling.
Why is my number 29.0. I was trying to look at someone teaching to turn off the cool on flashing button and it went from 82 degrees to 29.0. I held down the fan and plus sign and it took me to this number. Please help. Thank you so much

I tried Turing off the fan and I don’t see a setting that indicates it’s off. It runs 24/7. It’s driving me insane .
