Thank you I had it programmed for heat on in the morning for an couple of hours just to knock the chill off. However the air would kick on after and we are now in fall and it’s staying colder during the day before it heats up outside. So I canceled the program and will adjust as needed
Device is for Heat/Cold and Fan. Temporary Hold VS Hold: Temporary hold is defaulted, some customers in the 2000s wanted to have their thermostats change temp in their house while they aren't home or sleeping, This mode allows you to set temperature by date and time down to the four categories of " Wake, Away, Home, and Sleep". 4 times a day your temperature can be set at different intervals without you having to change it. Hold is to override all previous information mentioned above. Hold allows you to set a temperature and the device will make your house pump heat or cold constantly or automatically turning on and off the heater/cooler to maintain the set held temperature. If you are waking up at 6:30am and are cold in the morning you could set a TEMPORARY HOLD so that "Wake" is set to 6am. Every morning, you will have heat pumping at that moment and in the every morning to follow starting at 6am. Or: If you wake up at 6:30am and are cold in the morning you could change the temp and set it to HOLD and the device will keep your house that temp until you turn it off which is back to Temporary hold aka your scheduled 4 different intervals as mentioned above. Setting up the a temp for all 4 intervals "wake, away, home, sleep" is the recommended way to use the thermostat to allow an opportunity of "piece of mind" that you don't have to constantly change your temp manually from a dial. HOLD is acting like a dial style thermostat, the downside being you could be using more energy and costing more money over time by keeping your house a high or low temp depending on the season and power consumption. Hope this helps an old video.

In the beginning of the video you said it will run on temporary hold until 6PM is that the scheduled time it was set to or the time allotted for the temporary hold?
After changing the batteries the heat/ac won’t come on but shows it’s on, on the display panel. Could I have blown a fuse just by changing out the batteries in the thermostat?
I’m confused when you’re trying to make a schedule since it’s hot where I’m at I don’t want the heater to come on in the morning when I leave when I come home and before I go to bed how do I just use the program mode just for the air conditioner
This is the worst thermostat . I don’t want to program the air like that , I just want to have one temperature automatic and not running all the time. When I put the temporary hold the air doesn’t turn on until the house is in 82. If I put permanently hold doesn’t stop at all . I don’t want to program for hours or days I just want a normal thermostat. How is possible Honeywell could create something so complicated like that … horrible
Is there anyway to not set a schedule and simply make adjustments by increasing or decreasing the temperature and after you increase or decrease that temperature the heat adjusts accordingly immediately without a five minute delay and you also don't have to press hold?
@@jzeis Yes, there is a "dummy mode" for lack of a better phrase that all you have to do is set it to air con or heat mode and then push the temperatures arrows up or down to desired temp. Nothing else needs to be touched. Can easily explain it to our short term guests. Sorry-- my furnace guy modified it so no idea how to get to the dummy mode.
Just got this installed yesterday evening. It’s 4 am. The house was at 70 but the heat not to go off until 62. What? Not the temp I picked. He kept asking if I wanted temp or permanent hold. I told him I didn’t understand what those things meant. I wanted him to set it so the AC would turn on if it 75 and the heat if it hit 72. He said it could not do it. My last one could. I live in northern il the day starts out at 49 and ends at 80 sometimes. Of course it needs to change btw heat and AC. Even the person installing it couldn’t figure it out. Why would anyone want the settings the stop when it’s 6:00? Obviously I picked temp instead of permanent to waKe up cold. My last thermostat was a Honeywell. I didn’t understand what they did to this thing. Also the manual says the big number is the number you want the temp to be but it’s not it’s the little number that gets changed above it. Even the manual is wrong.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We took another look at the video to ensure volumes are appropriate for educational viewing. Please let us know if we can help in any other way.
Finally figured out how to get it out of "lock mode", and get the furnace back-up, re-set, and running again. With poor eyesight, this thermostat is both hard to see, as well as operate, if the landlord takes the instruction booklet for himself. I nearly panicked, when it showed I had accidently locked it, by mistake. It's nearly at the freezing mark outside today, and temperature was dropping indoors. Thank goodness I have things back to normal again. What a pain in the butt these thermostats are. Rather have the old style thermostats.
Installers set mine at 70 on heat, I’m freezing! I get the north wind blowing across the river & I’ve got to use my heating pad to stay warm. Honeywell WiFi 8000, all digital & supposed to not use the WiFi setup bc I’m a senior and don’t know how to use it, complicated!! Installer said I didn’t have to use the WiFi, he set it at 70; now red alert light on saying not connected to WiFi. I got the best furnace out of five choices so why this complicated thermostat?
i just had a technician come and im waiting on amazon deliver my new panel and the tech told me to program it to heatpump and not conventional where that on the panel?
Got a new AC unit put in, this is the thermostat it came with. I really hope I can get the heat to come on....I've just been pushing random buttons 🤭 Update...I had the technician come out and it was set to a Gas furnace not electric, so he had to reset it.
How do? you simply turn this system off and on again? I dont want to use all these settings off on thats it. Every time I turn the system to off do I leave the fan on auto or on it continues to run?
Mine is off by an hour. My time is set correctly, but the scheduling feature operates on a different time. I have my Sleep set to 10:00pm, but it would kick on at 9:00pm. I had to set my sleep schedule to 11:00pm to get it to kick on at 10:00pm. It's like this for all 4 of the schedule settings. It makes no sense.
So complicated! I I’m not liking this thermostat all! I’m staying with manual adjustment! Do you have to set each day to a schedule? Im Retired and want the same 2 temps every day…. 8am and 10pm. Is there an easy way to set this?
It says my heat is on 76 F. It says that's how warm it is upstairs and thar's the highest it can go. t's not even coming on, when I want it too. It's so cold up here. I keep adjusting the temperature and waiting for it to come on but it wont. It comes on at random times, throughout the day. The schedule is off. It's 5:54am and I can't even sleep because my feet are so cold. Please help.
How do I turn off the fan completely , it has only 3 2 options: 1st option is I could meet you front of your terminal if your are arriving on time , 2nd option ( option for early arrivals or delays ) is you can pick up the car from my parking street anytime you want which is few minutes from LAX . - on , auto, and circ.

I’m confused when you’re trying to make a schedule since it’s hot where I’m at I don’t want the heater to come on in the morning when I leave when I come home and before I go to bed how do I just use the program mode just for the air conditioner
How do you open the f ing thing to replace the battery?
I'm a Senior. Will call Hvac people back You made it sound easy Sorry Thanks
Did you ever find an answer to this question? That's my problem right now.
I dont feel the air coming from the vents but I here the fan turn on coming from outside
I have this problem as well
@@ashleighb7432 turns out the thermostat was fine but a turbine from the fan outside was not working. $300 fix
Bro, that musac is a killer. Is there a way that you can lower the volume so that we can hear what your guy is saying? Thx.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We took another look at the video to ensure volumes are appropriate for educational viewing. Please let us know if we can help in any other way.
Is there any way to turn the fan off completely? Even when I set the Mode off the fan keeps going.
What if I took the box off n started to press the bottoms down in the back not knowing what I was doing n now it don't let me turn it back on
Finally figured out how to get it out of "lock mode", and get the furnace back-up, re-set, and running again.
Hey there, can you share how you got it out of lock mode? I accidentally put it lock mode like you had done- thanks in advance!
Pla how to unlock it before I freeze in Canada? Sos.
How do you turn off the Fan setting? This thing is super complex. I wishbthey would go back to the old thermostats....much easier to use.
Just got it. How do I turn it off when my house is cold enough? Dr old lady.
Any way around the 5 minute hold time.
If I'm hot I want immediate ac not 5 minutes later
What does this 7 means and how to adjust it above room temp.?
i just had a technician come and im waiting on amazon deliver my new panel and the tech told me to program it to heatpump and not conventional where that on the panel?
Got a new AC unit put in, this is the thermostat it came with. I really hope I can get the heat to come on....I've just been pushing random buttons 🤭
Update...I had the technician come out and it was set to a Gas furnace not electric, so he had to reset it.
How do? you simply turn this system off and on again? I dont want to use all these settings off on thats it. Every time I turn the system to off do I leave the fan on auto or on it continues to run?
What does it mean when the thermostat is on select
My fan runs constantly even though its off. How do I fix this?
The Honeywell site gives it a one star. It comes with many installs, but once the programming is master, I am hopeful it will be fine.
Why I only have date and time under the menu?No prog
When I use the program function it is always stuck at heat I don’t know how to change it to cool
Thank God for this video!!! I'm not the techie chic so this was awesome!!!
Is there a message to know if my heat strips have been activated?
Trying to program a schedule for my thermostat but there is no program option under the menu. It only allows me to set the time and date.
How do you turn the A/C on though, ours use to work and kick in instantly now it isn't even turning on...And how do you reset the settings?
I still can’t figure out how to get the a/c on
Mine is off by an hour.
I would give anything for my old thermostat back. It keeps going back up to 78 no matter what I do.
Is there a thermostat that is much easier to program than this. I’m not trying to control a Space Shuttle launch, just trying to heat my home.
When I press mode nothing is in upper left corner. It says nothing?? How do we get it to say temporary hold
