This new Dodge Ram truck came if for paintless dent removal for the long crease dent in the box side. While there was a scratch in the paint, my customer still preferred to use PDR to take out the small crease and just touch up the scratch over having conventional auto body repair and painting of the damage.
For this PDR crease repair, I was able to get great access behind the dent through the rear of the box by removing the tail light. I was then able to use my PDR tools to push out the dent.
This type of crease damage is best repaired this way over trying to pull out the dent with other methods, including glue pulling. With a scratch in the paint, using glue pulling could cause more damage to the paint or pull off more paint. This would then require a full repaint.
Pushing out this crease dent I used my PDR tool pushing out the dent. I was able to use a custom made strap with a hook that I hung inside the bed. This holds the tool for better balance and makes it easier to control the tool while making the small precise pushes.
Paintless Dent Removal also often requires knocking down or blending the damage from the dent. This is done with special hammers and PDR knock down tools on the outside of the panel.
I was able to remove this long crease with excellent results.
