Cohen ain't the guy on trial. Somehow this fact eludes the defense.
Unfortunately, the defense's job isn't necessarily to prove their client is innocent, but rather, sometimes their job is to seed just enough doubt among the jury to get a hung jury or not guilty verdicts.
Here's hoping jury has enough sense to slap Trump with the first of many deserved guilty verdicts.

If all they had was Cohen's testimony, then yes,they could challenge him but he also backed up his statements with actual documentation proving what he said.
it doesn’t MATTER. Even if trump had knowledge and cohen isnt lying the crime is “falsifying business records” and is a misdemeanor of which the statute of limitations is expired. For it to be a felony (as is charged) it needs to be in furtherance of another crime. I’ll ask again WHAT IS THE OTHER CRIME? They have said in violation of campaign finance laws. Ok so they wanted Trump to claim the expense as a campaign expense? THAT IS ALSO A CRIME. Can’t have it both ways. No one is arguing Trump prob had knowledge of the payment. It’s legal to pay people hush money. It’s also only a misdemeanor to falsify a business record. This case is a joke. @@tarheelfangp I don't know if you're ignorant or lying, but it has been quite clearly explained, that Cohen paying the hush money, even if payed back by Trump, was functionally a donation to Trump's campaign (because there is clear record that it was done to hide it specifically to help him with voters) and the value of the payments is far in excess of the legal donation limit. That is why it is a violation of campaign finance laws, that is why Cohen went to jail, and why the person who directed him to do it, Donal Trump, must also legally be held accountable. Also, you say no one is arguing Trump had knowledge, one of the defenses' primary fucking claims is that Trump had no involvement even though there is numerous witnesses to him discussing paying Cohen and how to write it up to hide the actual reason for the payments, and he signed the fucking checks personally.

It is an urban area they are in but there are wooded parks all over the city. I am in a section of the city cut off from the rest of it by Interstate 95 and I have Crozer Arboretum down the street and Chester Park only about 10 blocks away. We get deer, raccoons, skunks, owls, hawks, the occasional turkey buzzard, and there is even a male groundhog that overwinters under my neighbors shed. Yet, I am within the city limits of Chester. It is not all so urban and run down from lack of jobs as the waterfront area is. We get a different kind of wildlife up here. We get the furry kind. LOL

I would have started watching soccer ages ago if I thought they would just release a raccoon on the field every so often. Or a tiger for that matter... I can appreciate the raccoon for not grabbing his knee and going down the first time one of his pursuers made contact with him.

I disagree with that view. It showed that there is a rule of law where someone more than suspected can be on trial - even if he was the president.
And that might chill some politicians.
I'm not sure a lot of people would get that this is close to how the system should work, though. Well, to a point - the American shouldn't have elected Trump, but one of the elements of check and balance works. Very slowly, but it works.
