    i got mine off amazone for $550 . put proline xmaxx shocks with piggyback tops (massive difference ) new wave 8s combo pack , max6 esc with 1100kv motor , mud slinger 3.8 tires on proline velocity rims , reefs beast servo (awsome ) , glued and screwwed a 3mm carbon fiber plate to the bottom ( been on for 6 months so far ) for the money its just incredable !

      Is the Max 6 enough? I just ordered one on the Christmas in July sale. I been going back and forth about the max 6 combo or ordering the combo off a dbxle from Jenny's.

    For Christmas i’ve got an XMaxx and my next buy was going to be a Outcast 8S rtr, but with that video, i think i’m gonna upgrade my Kraton 6S to become a EXB instead, As always, very good video and Thank you for all you do for us! Joyeuses Fêtes From Montreal, Quebec

    With m2c chassis I send mine just as hard as my 6s rigs. The stock chassis sucks. m2c tear drops on brace ends and m2c chassis is the only upgrades for massive sends I've had to do to get it reliable. I will note that long screw to secure the bulk heads down will help with them coming loose easily.

    You should take a look at the hobao hyper mt plus 2. It's a pretty cool truck. Definitely has some quirks but it's fun and pretty durable.

      Truck sucks. It has no parts or aftermarket support. Better off sticking to a reputable brand.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC 2 роки тому +6

      @@michaelbryan4586 it doesn't really have any aftermarket support but it definitely has parts. The hobao website carries all the spare parts and they are always available.
      Hobao is a very repeatable brand that's been around a long time. Its just not that well known in the states.
      Do you own one?

      I must agree with you on the HHMT+2. No after market parts needed for it other than running smaller tires. I’ve beat on mine as hard if not harder than my Arrma 6S rigs and broke nothing. Great design and highly underrated Basher IMO 👍

      @@DoRC Sweet. May have to look into that. The problem I was having was that the shocks would bottom out before chassis slap and I was breaking rod ends. Once I went with the MX38's that’s not been an issue. If you get a chance check out my vids on the MT. She’s a solid rig 👍

    Thanks for the video. Comment and a question. Arrma does have optional sway bars and springs. You mentioned that you removed the front sway bar to improve handling. Anymore details on the rationale? Have a Kraton 8S EXB mostly for ground use, out and back bash racing, so getting it to handle well is the goal.

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  2 роки тому +4

      The front sway bar connects the front end and causes it to slide/under steer more. Good when you’re going fast, but removing it will allow the front end to roll and make u-turns easier at slower speeds.

    Are the front tie rod ends sloppy? That was a major complaint that the youtuber, Earl Moorehead had. They are currently on sale and I want one, just hesitant because of the tie rod balls fitting loosely and causing issues. Just your thoughts?

    For me personally, I feel like 5th scale etc. is in the realm of racing, and they shouldn't really bother with bother with trying to make these into bashers, stunt, whatever you want to call them, I mean if people want them for that purpose, no matter what they buy, they'll turn them into that. That being said, what do I know? People are buying them, some are happy with them, and some aren't, and I'm just commenting on what I'm seeing and hearing anyway. That's why they seem to work out better as the sand rails, on road cars, rally cars, and short or trophy trucks, just sayin'.

    You can't praise the Xmaxx for it's durability and then slam it for being made of plastic..... The Traxxas costs less in the long run and will shrug off abuse that would make the Outcast fold up like a taco.

    SCALE IS IMPORTANT!!! There's a formula for design... it goes Scale : Purpose : Engineering
    Each scale from 1/24 to 1/1 has different purposes, uses and completely different perfect design parameters. Imo Arrma tried to bend the rules and failed... kudos for the attempt, but these Arrma 1/5 scale cars are trying to be something they're not... aka 1/8 scales... 1/8 scale purpose and 1/8 design for a 1/5 scale vehicle... Otoh Traxxas tried more of a 1/10 scale design for the Xmaxx, which actually worked better, but an anomaly imo... old 1/5 scales were heavy all metal everything (except arms) with shocks so stiff you could hardly compress them with your hand... and they could go 50 miles an hour, climb over huge obstacles, and jump... but you wouldn't launch them thirty feet into the air.
    Here's my king hornet by hsp with 980kv on 6s, climbing a 16 foot high snow hill...
    ua-cam.com/video/n1XbIeudl1s/v-deo.html
    1/5 scales are good for desert conditions like my new ranch in Joshua Tree, whereas 1/8 scales spin out, crash and die... I run 1/5 scale in the desert, because terrain and use dictate scale!..
    But I returned my outcast 8S immediately will NOT be buying another plastic hulk 1/5 scale ever again. The Xmaxx was a fluke and should just be accepted as that... it's a double priced huge swollen 10th scale monster truck that defies its normal scale parameter rules by using all plastic everything... it's the most capable rc toy ever, but a total ripoff for what it costs to make them... I'll never own an Xmaxx either because of terrible inherent value to cost and improper scale design... I like things to be right, not flukes that magically work out... just me...
    So... instead, for 1/5 scale electric I like my old HSP brushless King hornet which was heavy and all metal and based off of the gas 5th scale platforms. And I use the same platform on my 1/5 gas trucks... the Rovan RC gas vehicles are now way cheaper than the electrics, and they're hella fast, huge and capable.
    There wasn't any reason in my opinion to go changing up the heavy full metal 1/5 Scale platform. So much engineering cost went into these arrmas and all they do is break... they should go back to the tried and true 1/5 scale rc tech thats been around forever... then I'd buy all they made... my all metal hsp king hornet was nearly impossible to break, fast, and could climb or jump over anything... same exact truck as the gas driven 1/5 scales which you can beat the heck out of... the shocks are so tough you almost think you could ride on top of the car...
    Here's a snow bash...
    ua-cam.com/video/kC6YDyYslWw/v-deo.html
    And out of the box vs tire upgrade...
    ua-cam.com/video/Cs3ZhDzS7K0/v-deo.html
    Never broke anything... never upgraded anything... just put 2.5lb a piece monster tires on it... it drained 6s 5k packs like crazy, but it was awesome... still have it in storage back home 2k miles away, or else I would pull it out again and smash both the outcast and xmaxx in a head on collision... I'd walk away unscathed surrounded by pieces of arrma and traxxas everywhere... rovan rc sells killer gas 1/5 scales... that's all I drive now ever since the arrmas started failing me in the desert... the kraton 6s breaks constantly... A arms snap on the rocks, bearings can't handle the dust, etc... typhon 6s just spins out uselessly and snapped a shock on a 40 lb clump of petrified dirt... but the heavy duty 1/5 scale gas Rovans love it... and my king hornet would too... and they're cheaper too! I'm paying less than $700 for trucks that make arrma and traxxas look like neutered shaved poodles... check out this first run (only half speed break in) of my Rovan ft360
    ua-cam.com/video/lRDDFHpIkRk/v-deo.html
    ua-cam.com/video/Hd5rkW_hjq8/v-deo.html
    I never worry about broken parts, bent shock shafts, stripped differentials... BECAUSE THE SCALE MATCHES THE ENGINEERING, and both match the purpose and terrain... simple as that... Kudos to Arrma for trying something new and original, but they messed up the Scale : Engineering : Purpose formula...

      Bruhh just shut up what are you 50 years old. Buying an xmaxx is perfectly fine who gives a crap about how it was made how cheap it was for them to make it and if it’s a 10th scale blown up. Your something else 😂 xmaxx is a beast no matter what and it’s hard to break them. I think it’s a nice phenomenal design keeping it so light with one solid piece of plastic. Your opinion means nothing. Your old school because u were born in the 70s

    • @thepatternforms859

      Not sure what you’re smoking but the new 1/5 scale rigs are equally as durable as the smaller rigs and the arms literally never break. Plenty of videos showing them launched 30, 40, 50 feet into the air. You will bend a drive shaft before you break an arm on these rigs. I’m writing the comment in 2024 and your original remarks are flat out Incorrect.
