Nice vid! I'd love for you share motor temps during and after a bash like this...I'm trying to decide between an 800kv (which most seem to favor) or the lighter higher RPM 1100kv. I like the idea of the 1100kv motor but I am affraid of thermo shut downs. I like to run 2 sets of packs back to back during a bash. Keep up the great work! :)

I just ordered a hobbywing 1100kv motor based off this video. I too will run my spektrum 160 Amp esc for a while until I can get a max 5. They seem to be hard to find at the moment

However, i want one to be 1/5 scale and one to be 1/8scale. Which would you prefer for each ? And why? Having a touch time of what scale i should buy for each model. Ill definitely be bashing them. Do you see one model being "tougher" in one scale vs. The other?
Thanks so much bro!! The Mojave is a land rocket! IMO the Outcast is a bit more fun in the 1/5 scale. More agile and better air control once setup. The Kraton is badass too and holds down the power but I prefer the 1/8 scale if I had to choose. Those are just my thoughts though! Good luck with it bro! BASH on!!
Can you notice a big difference between the stock 1250kv motor and the 1100kv? I have the kraton 8s exb and i currently still run the 1250kv stock motor.. And i was looking to put the 1100kv hobbywing in it paired with the stock ESC
Did the esc ever give out from the 1100kv drawing too many amps. Also if u had to keep it in would you? Don’t know if I should get a 1100kv or the stock 1250kv or if there’s something in between?
What brand of gears were you running? Doing m2c parts and this motor swap. Having a difficult time finding correct pinion gear to match the 8mm bore shaft that'll fit this motor and match up to factory running gear on the outcast.

Thanks bro! No limitless spool yet, just stock with a 30 tooth pinion. The temps were fine on the motor but a tad less run time. The bigger motor is definitely drawing more amps off the packs! I have to run a 100c minimum. May need to go for some bigger mah soon! Thanks for watching!

I'm running 39/39 gearing with the XLX2 AND 800KV MOTOR on my Outcast 8s and it looks and feels way slower than that 1100kv motor. I'm going to try 35/39 and probably 30/34 gearing. I puffed my batteries too with 39/39 😱

In the Versions 2 and beyond of these 8s trucks, Arrma did a software update to fix the lag and power feed issue in the ESC. Much better for sure! I believe you can download the update from the Arrma or Horizon website.

I'm running a 30 tooth pinion on stock spur. I currently have a Max 5 ESC which performs even better. Even with the stock Firma ESC, as in this vid, she was fast!😎👊
What were* the ambient temps out? And did you record any actual temps on the motor and ESC? Just curious because this might be the motor I go with for this truck.
Are those Yowoo graphene lipos? If so I am trying to find out if they are any good. Been trying for months to replace my smc that went bad but the new ones are never in stock. Or maybe you can reccomend a solid 6s pack for the typhon?
I don't recall any major heat issues although this was probably pushing max gearing with this setup. I did give cool downs between packs. The ESC was being pushed pretty hard here but the Max 5 made a big difference! What was your temps? Anything under 180 degrees is acceptable imo after a full pack running hard.

😆Yeah it will definitely work. Better than the stock ESC. The Max 5 will work more efficient and supply max power feed with that big motor but the Max 6 will work. Just watch its temps.

They made an update from the factory to take out some of the lag and sluggishness. I believe you can update older ESC's with a download from Horizons website. That's what I was told anyway.🤙

Quite a bit more powerful and "torquey" with a bigger motor paired with a Max5. I think in this vid I was still running the stock ESC with the Hobbywing motor. Definitely faster but the Max5 made a even bigger difference in power delivery.😎🤘
AWESOME Big Red Rip Brother Eric 😜!!!! Definitely has some good wheelspin with the 5687 onboard 👍. Sounded a tad rough down low, but the Max5 should help the extra amp draw with low end throttling. Props to Mitch for jumping right on the chassis 😍👌👌. She is very durable bone stock, but nothing beats 7075 T6 beef for going extreme 💪. Yes it's running M2C. The M2C pistons were tested and drilled for stock 40 weight. Super plush! Added droop screws to go with it and makes a huge overall difference.

I didn't notice much performance wise. It does have more of a MT look though.😛🤣The wing does really protect the rear tower, bulkheads etc. Already got a new one on her!🤙

There is quite a difference yes especially in torque. Paired with a Max 5 it really shines but even with stock ESC it will make a difference.💪💪

I was running at the time a stock 47 spur with a 30 pinion I believe. It was quite some time ago.😜

In fact, I've had to glue them on several occasions...
No glue issues yet but the foams are starting to loosen a bit!😝🤣These are great tires but definitely get soft after handling big power.

when changing the motor with stock esc as is, was there setting changes that needed to be done? or just swap motor and run?
I just swapped motor and pinion. Had much more power once I swapped to a Max 5 but still better than stock setup!

Not that I know of. The quality of M2C especially.

No I just put some on the grub. Just clean it with alcohol to get any oils off.
Will the hobbywing 5687 1100kv fit on the stock motor slide, and what is the largest pinion?
No you need the M2C large slide and also the motor mount as the M2C slide won't fit the stock mount.👌

😆Yeah it will definitely work. Better than the stock ESC. The Max 5 will work more efficient and supply max power feed with that big motor but the Max 6 will work. Just watch its temps.

Pretty much a huge difference imo especially paired with a Max5 and proper gearing. MUCH more torque too.

I use 2, 3m button head screws per arm. Thet seat in perfect!

What did you mean by the arrma update? For the ESC?
They made an update from the factory to take out some of the lag and sluggishness. I believe you can update older ESC's with a download from Horizons website. That's what I was told anyway.🤙
Sweet vid man I'm running almost same set up on the 8s exb kraton max6 1100kv combo 27t pinion but having g some ec5 plugs coming unsoldered from ecs to battery connection any idea what's causing thanks
You may need to upgrade to a Max 5. The Max 6 may be overloading on that big of a rig! That will cause heat and melt the plugs.

I run a 30 tooth with a Max5 and 1100kv with no real heat issues. You can definitely try a smaller pinion to be extra cautious!😎👊

Quite a bit more powerful and "torquey" with a bigger motor paired with a Max5. I think in this vid I was still running the stock ESC with the Hobbywing motor. Definitely faster but the Max5 made a even bigger difference in power delivery.😎🤘

AWESOME Big Red Rip Brother Eric 😜!!!! Definitely has some good wheelspin with the 5687 onboard 👍. Sounded a tad rough down low, but the Max5 should help the extra amp draw with low end throttling. Props to Mitch for jumping right on the chassis 😍👌👌. She is very durable bone stock, but nothing beats 7075 T6 beef for going extreme 💪. Bummer on the wingmount, but bound to happen with this Huge platform. Loved the Huge sends and sundown Rips Brother!!!! 😍🥰🥰 Great stuff as always Eric 🤗🤙🤙😎💪👊👊

Did you run the m2c shock shafts and pistons? I got a set for the k8s and wondered what weight ppl are running.
Yes it's running M2C. The M2C pistons were tested and drilled for stock 40 weight. Super plush! Added droop screws to go with it and makes a huge overall difference.

It's like construction crews just leave random dirt piles around, just in case you're passing.... 🤣 Is it worth replacing the wing? Seems to fly equally well without it, plus, a few grams of weight saved etc etc... 😉

I didn't notice much performance wise. It does have more of a MT look though.😛🤣The wing does really protect the rear tower, bulkheads etc. Already got a new one on her!🤙
