An RC Car that costs 4 figures, and uses the tag lines 'Engineered tough' & 'EXtreme Bash Speed Monster Truck' should be able to survive at least a single battery pack at a skatepark.
Its So funny. 6 years ago, your Shop was empty and boring... And now, its like heaven vor young and old and your Videos are legendary. 🥰🥰 I am at home, positive Corona, surching for Videos but i watched all 😂😂😂😢
Glad you are testing them to their limits and mostly on stock parts. Very surprised that arms, shocks and rod ends didnt break. Given these trucks are so heavy, there is no chance it could survive jumps that high and concrete landings, but it held up extremely well. Im very convinced in normal bashing these should be very durable.
NIIIIICE 👌🏻 I have to say I would be a bit pissed if the servo and ESC broke that quick, awesome rig other than that and that was some very hard impacts though lol
Mate I bought a tlr Typhon nearer the start of the year and the servo died twice straight out the box. Replaced it like for like after the first run and it died straight away again on its second run. So had to replace with an upgrade which was £48. The buggy was like £700 and it couldn’t even cope with its power on stock parts. Wot a joke!!!! How can spectrum get away with this over n over the servos aren’t fit for purpose.
In my personal experience, I have only seen one 8s Kraton chassis bend. That’s because we were trying to jump it over a tree, and kinda missed and the truck landed on a big branch. I think people should give the metal chassis a little more credit, because Kev runs everything on skate parks, which is incredibly tough on everything. (Makes durability tests even more impressive) Whereas if you run on dirt, things should last a lot longer. 🙂
@@samhutchins5890 Fair enough. I guess I’ve either been lucky or bent chassis without noticing. I have bent a TON of 6s Kraton v3 shock towers though. I would straighten them out as best I could. Eventually I upgraded to m2c shock towers and chassis though and it’s much better.

Arrma really just needs to send some engineers out to visit you and have you test their trucks early and fix the things they end up breaking. It's such an easy solution/idea I'm shocked Arrma hasn't done it already.
When you have something that's 30% heavier than the Traxx, the amounts of energy being exerted on the parts increase substantially. I think these class of Arrma cars will just have to deal with more breakage than normal, which makes it high risk higher reward if people are into that kind of things. Also plays into that theme when the parts are more expensive too.
You said it best. "Both have pros and cons", between the XRT and the Kraton. "If you're gonna choose one, choose the one that puts the biggest smile on your face". In Kevins case, giving them a durability test seems to put the biggest smile on his face 😁👍
This is why I follow your channel. Honest product reviews on the expensive cars and parts. You and @tomleyrc are definitely my go to channels for honesty.
I'm a Veteran that is Disabled and Terminal. I saved up waiting to purchase the newest one.I thought I had purchased the Newest Kraton 8s EXB, but as it turns out, Horizon Hobbies, AKA Arrma RC listed them in stock and took my $1066⁰⁰, then told me they were not in stock and they didn't expect any deliveries this month and probably not next month either. So, I will just keep enjoying it Vicariously through you and your videos. First EngineDIY scammed me and now Arrma RC/Horizon Hobbies. I give up trying to have a great Rc... Thank you for all your videos. It's a pleasure to watch you... Bye

Looks like Andy the Landie has had an upgrade! Roger the Rangie maybe? 🤔 Favourite part of the video was when you said “it’s still going” and then instantly mullered it. Vintage Talbot! 😂
Look up, Tom Stanton. He has with RC motors with excellent results. There is also another guy who used 8 of the 5698 brushless RC motors on an e-mountainbike. It did nothing but pull wheelies. Would be cool to see Kev try it with 12 of those motors on a DIW gokart. He knows how to work with metal and tig weld so it would be an awesome project for him.
You can, but it's a bit silly. The size of the motor shaft is the limiting factor, you're going to be fighting to keep those from spinning or snapping the shaft. Not to mention that the current requirements would be brutal. It's much better to start with larger brushless motors, because even though that motor might look massive for RC, it's a little baby motor.
I wish more people understood that your favorite thing doesn't need to be the best thing. It can be your favorite for your own reasons, justifiable to only yourself. I'm so glad you promote that sort of positive attitude towards people's favorites Kev, and I wish more people did
Hay kev I noticed in the last video you had trouble keeping stuff in your drill now it doesn't work on all but if you tighten up your drill chuck and twist it verry slowly like you undoing it it will click that means it's locked tight and could you do a review on the ftx tracer would love to see what you think of the little beast.
I put the same esc combo in my xmaxx.. i only have one problem there's a throttle pause/delay and makes a weird gear sound .. any idea's whats doing this?
hey kev just an Idea to sort out the problem of the shockwave when hitting concrete, I suggest putting a strip of foam on the bottom of the chasing and sticking it on or just some small foam blocks or something just to add some padding to the chassis when landing, should sort out the problem!

Had the same issue with the rear bulkhead on my new K8 EXB RTR. Happened first bash. R&r the bulk head and did the 5x25mm screws and no issue since. Also had the chassis brace ends break and the bell crank.
Maybe calibrate the neutral point in the esc to your servo tester so the esc doesn't think you're trying to change the settings by switching it on while holding the throttle, (most escs allow this to set them up for new handsets and receivers)? Just a thought. Love all your vids though dude, no mechanical sympathy allowed, just send it!
I managed to use a different motor mount slide and put a 70120 sized motor in It wouldn’t fit any long for sure took a dremel to the plastic and a drill to the motor mount to raise the motor up, I’m just gonna put the 800kv g2 motor back in but I wanted to see what happenes also thank you m2c for the new bellcrank design🔥🔥🔥
Looks like the chassis may have been damaged from that hard landing after the big sparks, and that smaller jump just finished it off. Nice footage though!!

It seems like once you get a above 1/10-1/8 scale, no matter what you upgrade, the weight really hurts durability if you are going extreme bashing.
XRT seems as tough as a rustler. Aluminum seems to be a weakness above 10 pounds.
XRT is perfectly fine to bash with
