My response to the title. Just squeeze it in
That Nice
You should do banger racing
Want your TRX-4 red Ford
I want a xmaaxx for xmas 🙈✌️
An RC Car that costs 4 figures, and uses the tag lines 'Engineered tough' & 'EXtreme Bash Speed Monster Truck' should be able to survive at least a single battery pack at a skatepark.
im saying nothing!
@@KevinTalbotTV coward 😅
You used to a an arrma fanboy what happened? 🤣🤣
@@KevinTalbotTV never been an Arrma Fanboy... prove it 😅
you was until they stopped giving you free ones 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's always an awesome good time with you it's fun just watching it even if we can't be there I love it !!!! don't ever stop doing what you do! That Xrt and savage was kicking butt too!!
In my personal experience, I have only seen one 8s Kraton chassis bend. That’s because we were trying to jump it over a tree, and kinda missed and the truck landed on a big branch.
I think people should give the metal chassis a little more credit, because Kev runs everything on skate parks, which is incredibly tough on everything. (Makes durability tests even more impressive) Whereas if you run on dirt, things should last a lot longer. 🙂
I do feel like these cars need stiffer suspension for running skate parks to be honest.
You can see tons of bent chassis videos on UA-cam.
@@truercOh I’m sure you can. That’s why I said in my personal experience, metal chassis have been relatively durable
i bent my 8s outcast chassis on flat ground in my yard, and my notorious 6s on like a 8 or 10ft jump. they’re weak
@@samhutchins5890 Fair enough. I guess I’ve either been lucky or bent chassis without noticing. I have bent a TON of 6s Kraton v3 shock towers though. I would straighten them out as best I could. Eventually I upgraded to m2c shock towers and chassis though and it’s much better.
It seems like once you get a above 1/10-1/8 scale, no matter what you upgrade, the weight really hurts durability if you are going extreme bashing.
XRT seems as tough as a rustler. Aluminum seems to be a weakness above 10 pounds.
XRT is perfectly fine to bash with
It could be 1/24 scale and made of adamantium; Kevin Talbot would still destroy it within an hour at the skatepark. Dude is a menace, lol
NIIIIICE 👌🏻
I have to say I would be a bit pissed if the servo and ESC broke that quick, awesome rig other than that and that was some very hard impacts though lol
Same, you spend alot of money on a Nice big RC car, and one of the first time you jump the thing it stop working.. thats not good enough.. 🤷♂️
@@jesperlehmann4336didnt exactly break on the first jump though did it
smahing any rc on concrete is just plain stupid
yeah but 30ft to flat on an 8s truck isnt really in it's design scope.
Mate I bought a tlr Typhon nearer the start of the year and the servo died twice straight out the box. Replaced it like for like after the first run and it died straight away again on its second run. So had to replace with an upgrade which was £48. The buggy was like £700 and it couldn’t even cope with its power on stock parts. Wot a joke!!!! How can spectrum get away with this over n over the servos aren’t fit for purpose.
Kev I work at a hobby shop and sold tons of vehicles there one thing I have seen with arrma is that the end points are never set up from factory which stressing out all the electronics just something you should know any customer that buys one I always set it for them and haven't seen any come back with issues like yours, and yes I have arrmas I beat the crap of lol my chassis are all silver not black as out of the factory 😂
Any video with 8S Steve puts a smile on my face.
Thanks bro
Glad you are testing them to their limits and mostly on stock parts. Very surprised that arms, shocks and rod ends didnt break. Given these trucks are so heavy, there is no chance it could survive jumps that high and concrete landings, but it held up extremely well. Im very convinced in normal bashing these should be very durable.
Appreciate that you ran it stock first, then tossed in some modest upgrades and ran it again (well the electronics aren't really modest but those had to go in at that point!) before perhaps going full beefcake as you might be doing later. Skate parks sure are brutal on these heavy, large scale aluminum chassis RCs. Still fun to watch you give these trucks a go there...better your trucks than mine LOL!
Arrma really just needs to send some engineers out to visit you and have you test their trucks early and fix the things they end up breaking. It's such an easy solution/idea I'm shocked Arrma hasn't done it already.
Because a substantial amount of their income is in supplying spares…?
When you have something that's 30% heavier than the Traxx, the amounts of energy being exerted on the parts increase substantially. I think these class of Arrma cars will just have to deal with more breakage than normal, which makes it high risk higher reward if people are into that kind of things. Also plays into that theme when the parts are more expensive too.
awesome tests Kev; you show it like it is and don't fan boy everything; good on you.
You said it best. "Both have pros and cons", between the XRT and the Kraton. "If you're gonna choose one, choose the one that puts the biggest smile on your face". In Kevins case, giving them a durability test seems to put the biggest smile on his face 😁👍
Kev is the reason I've gotten into rc. Thank you for helping me get a addiction to rc 😂
Cold weather and plastics never do well for long. Kraton had no chance. Awesome video Kevin!!
That 6s battery looks really puffy too!
Those diff housings should have been metal from the start on a 1/5th scale.
Awesome vid as always! I'm guessing the new motor has a lower KV rating than stock, that's why it looked "slow" on 8S
Yep. It needed more gear. I run 39:39 on mine with 760kv motor. It could even be overdriven without issue.
I'm not convinced the esc is bad. I have issues using servo testers to control them as the end points are not set up in the esc as compared to the radio. But either way, going bigger anyway!
So awesome I just bought this same exact rig last week and I’m curious what kind of durable it is
I love the passion you have for what you do. Very cool tp hesr you explain all the details of these builds.
Amazing kevin, looks slick!🎉
Kevin never fails to make my happy when he posts when I come home from work
Agreed and I’m a grown man
kev after doing multiple suicide jumps: why did it break????
Kev is the reason I have my rustler, he inspired me👍
I have a rustler. It is currently out from a broken wheel+suspension mount from hitting a pole.
he is also the reason ive made it go 100mph with upgrades
@@lytmoplayzz my next goal for mine
@@mntb0873 try putting a 4000kv hobbywing motor and hobbywing max 10 combo with a few other goodies and with 3s you might be able to get it. (Sidenote) you might need too lower the car with new shocks and take the rustler wing off
Installing a monster motor on a monster truck that already has tremendous power...
A monster truck RC car of an incredible level was born.👍👍👍👏👏
when it came out I wanted it. When I saw that it was breaking down in one channel after the other, I changed my mind.
Thx kev for the video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Man I love these 20 minute videos!
I wish more people understood that your favorite thing doesn't need to be the best thing. It can be your favorite for your own reasons, justifiable to only yourself. I'm so glad you promote that sort of positive attitude towards people's favorites Kev, and I wish more people did
Anyone old enough to remember the Traxis Sledge Hammer? Now I'll go way way back. Sears Xmas catalog had all of the top RC cars of the 80's and early 90's. Damn I'm old lol
I had a Traxxas Nitro Hawk with a Davis Deisel conversion and then a Team Associated T2 11 turn motor with 3Ds controller. Those were the days!
And a ladies underwear section…
5:53 😂😂😂😂😂 I actually burst out laughing and rewound about 3 times ha ha ha…..
These cars seem like so much fun but they're so huge i just can't get used to the idea of being seen with a mini actual car xD That's why i like them though, they just behave more like real cars. Thats including repair costs lmao. Can't wait for my first RC to arrive; maybe someday i'll grow into rippers like these. Love the XRT/Kraton style, the longwheelbase.
That XRT Backflip was insane!!!
Great! I've been trying to decide between the outcast and kraton 8s..loving these videos!

Get the XRT v2
@@davidmellish3295 I haven't heard about that yet! Sounds like I need to check into that..thanks for the heads up
@@phunkeej7109 no worries mate
This is why I follow your channel. Honest product reviews on the expensive cars and parts. You and @tomleyrc are definitely my go to channels for honesty.
Had the same issue with the rear bulkhead on my new K8 EXB RTR. Happened first bash. R&r the bulk head and did the 5x25mm screws and no issue since. Also had the chassis brace ends break and the bell crank.
Looks like Andy the Landie has had an upgrade! Roger the Rangie maybe? 🤔 Favourite part of the video was when you said “it’s still going” and then instantly mullered it. Vintage Talbot! 😂
Awesome video. Those Arma cars are beasts....
My goodness Kev… I’m over here like wow great looking rig. Then you get ahold of it and destroy it. Your runs are to the extreme. Which I love but damn a guy like me only dreams of a rig like this.
I wonder if putting some foam under the electronics would help save them on the big jumps?
Hi mate. I always install under my esc and electric some rubber to take the shock from jumps. Great video mate keep smashing them 👍🦘🤭🤣🤪🤪🤪
Wow the tech they have these days! Fantastic!!
Tiny: Oi, you're throwing stones, naughty!
That made me laugh so hard my ribs hurt. 😂😂
Finally got my first xmaxx and 100% agree the best rc car!! Thanks for the suggestion!
Can't wait to see this joker on 12s I been wanting to swap over one of my max5's to the new g2 but the new releases got my wallet side tracked! I freaki'n love the Arrma 1/5 platform!
I love your videos and energy. And you are not lying when you say no one finds the problems faster then you. You know how to bash!!
Its never too big, you just gotta push harder..... lol
If you put earplugs in the center diff the top speed will increase. Right now the center diff is sending all the power to the front wheels which have less traction. Downside is you are more likely to shred the rear diff/break the axle pins so I put the Vitavon setup in mine
Hey Kevin, have you tried making a go-kart or ebike with these massive motors?
Look up, Tom Stanton. He has with RC motors with excellent results. There is also another guy who used 8 of the 5698 brushless RC motors on an e-mountainbike. It did nothing but pull wheelies. Would be cool to see Kev try it with 12 of those motors on a DIW gokart. He knows how to work with metal and tig weld so it would be an awesome project for him.
You can, but it's a bit silly. The size of the motor shaft is the limiting factor, you're going to be fighting to keep those from spinning or snapping the shaft. Not to mention that the current requirements would be brutal.
It's much better to start with larger brushless motors, because even though that motor might look massive for RC, it's a little baby motor.
Don't you mean "Mahoosive" motors.
THere is NO other (RC or any other?) channel like this one. Not only for finding weaknesses but, just awesome stuff. thanks
I love ur vids for me it’s watch u do things that maybe others can’t afford to do and it’s still a fun stimulate for most of us thanks bro
I fear that at a point Kevs gonna put the raminator electric conversion kit into one of these cars
Only real difference is water cooling on the Raminator. I actually think this esc and motor is more powerful. I can't promise that. If not they're the same.
Judging by the frost on the ground. The plastic parts of the car would have been very cold increasing the brittleness of the pastic parts. at a guess.. would have been interesting to see if that had happened in summer.
Ah Kev me and my miss put this on the big tv and we couldn’t stop laughing buddy we had a complete ball watching this video ur the best buddy
Thanks bro glad you enjoyed it!!
Looks like the chassis may have been damaged from that hard landing after the big sparks, and that smaller jump just finished it off. Nice footage though!!
Yes, you are right
Hey Kev, I don’t know if this is something you can try but how about a thin piece of lexan the shape of the chassis attached by servo tap it could help with the electronics bottoming out.
Its So funny. 6 years ago, your Shop was empty and boring... And now, its like heaven vor young and old and your Videos are legendary. 🥰🥰
I am at home, positive Corona, surching for Videos but i watched all 😂😂😂😢
5:49 funny to think that kev is comparing an old Keaton to a new Keaton exb
this is a really nice video! i like this "all in one" style! :-D gooooood job!!
Maybe calibrate the neutral point in the esc to your servo tester so the esc doesn't think you're trying to change the settings by switching it on while holding the throttle, (most escs allow this to set them up for new handsets and receivers)? Just a thought. Love all your vids though dude, no mechanical sympathy allowed, just send it!
I just love how the car is so crippled, Kev be like: ITS GETTING IT NOW
Do more videos with the Rovan XLT450 please. Those videos where awsome👍
It makes me laugh when Kevin breaks the car then says "its gettin' it now!" and proceeds to destroy it! Kevin, your'e the best RC youtuber out there!
Arrma tough baby 😂. That's why I don't land my K8S EXB on concrete , even with M2C goodies 😂.
Every time I see RC cars like this I always want to put an FPV camera link on it
Thanks kev! Love out the box videos!.
This guys got best come over on you tube. Id love to see a video of him brushing this in in the morning
Epic video man, Just epic, honestly plastic failing isnt bad at all, IMO that car took it very well. I want one now badly haha. Also is there anything that a 70125 can fit in, I know youll find something lololol..... Also I have two of the Max5 g2 800kv combos now, 1 in my x-maxx and 1 in a build im doing for a infraction, OMG hands down best bang for buck man $389!!!
Hay kev I noticed in the last video you had trouble keeping stuff in your drill now it doesn't work on all but if you tighten up your drill chuck and twist it verry slowly like you undoing it it will click that means it's locked tight and could you do a review on the ftx tracer would love to see what you think of the little beast.
Oh boy let's go!!!! Time to ratch ill be back! 📽️🍿🥤🎬👊👊👍👍

*does it the fastest with the Kraton*
“That’s a win for the Kraton”
😳🤷🏼♂️😂
Awesome bash! That 6s battery looked very puffed. 😆
Have you thought of fitting a flywheel (like on the Losi dirt bike) to the speed record car to prevent the nose from rising?
Dude I seriously don’t know how your this good, keep it up man!
not gone lie watching kevin video ls made me switch from drones to rc.. caught me a felony on offerb up for 350.. love but i’m definitely looking to get one of these big trucks
Love you videos man, keep it up
Kev I like how you test the durability on the RC Cars
Cheers for the upload. Keep up the good work Sir
I managed to use a different motor mount slide and put a 70120 sized motor in It wouldn’t fit any long for sure took a dremel to the plastic and a drill to the motor mount to raise the motor up, I’m just gonna put the 800kv g2 motor back in but I wanted to see what happenes also thank you m2c for the new bellcrank design🔥🔥🔥
Looks like it's nearly time to get the ice tyres out. 😄
That spark tough😮
Thanks for the heart😄
So I just got a kraton 6s blx myself and I haven't had a servo issue yet, any pre breakage replacement recomandations
Worth it for that one CAM shot....EPIC!
Does that eco servo fit in the xmaxx if so what adapter plate is needed thanks
im assuming you’ve ordered them, when are raz’s 1/5th scale servos gonna start popping up in videos?
I don’t know a lot about these but I’m thinking the Kraton did the stair climb slower and smoother due to being longer (lower angle of attack) and having fresh tires.
Exactly why it climbed smoother bud and the tires play a big part in it as well
im here for the content. need more monstertruck stuff!
Gotta love the Kev durability tests 😀😀
Awesome as always and audio was good 😎
Can’t keep up with buying like you do kev wish I could just got an infraction so no penny’s to play with yet. Keep up the good work and content ✌️😊
These videos are the reason i got into rc and bashing i know if any of them survive kevin they will survive anything
Kev I need help with my slash, I need a new motor you got any suggestions
Hello there @Kevin Intressting channel . Think i discovered it for a week ago searching on RC cars .
Was thinking about find something RC cars related to my last that i owned 30 years ago when i bought a Used Tamiya Nissan Kingcab that used NI-CD batteries . Guess the cars have been more expensive and faster then back then . :) Kinda like the Traxxas that are around this days .
What i can figure out from the movies i watched here Traxxas is the way to go i guess ??
And keep up the good work Kevin and good luck . Realy nice videos you make .

Love the vids kev keep it up!!
keep it up Kevin. I would love to hang with you and your Homies. Seem like a good ol time. God bless you all. Stay safe and strong🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇻🇬🇻🇬🇻🇬

Hi Kev, I just bought my first rc car a couple weeks ago and I think I am hooked. My vehicle has been in the shop for the last week so I haven't been able to get out and learn how to drive it yet. Winter is coming soon so that should be interesting. I am from Canada. I would like to enter the raffle for the Outcast and other cars but I don't want to join Facebook. Is there another way I could pay to enter? Thanks for the videos! Tumble Wumble
The most important thing you need to know about this hobby is that you need to learn to fix your own stuff. If not, you will never get to use it because it will be in the "shop" all the time. You will waste tons of money on repair labor, then get discouraged, and quit the hobby. These cars are easy to work on. As long as you're not a hack, or jury rigger, you can learn to fix your own stuff properly, and you will enjoy the hobby much more. These thing break often, so stock parts and tools.
Ho,y smokes Talbot ! That engine was huge ! Now that’s wild 😝
Hi Kevin. What do you like better between the OutKast 8s exb or the Kraton 8s exb?
30 seconds before disaster "oh, the screws are backing out the bulkhead'. Me thinks they were stripping out rather than backing out. Either way it's a big beautiful beast and i love mine. The 8s Arrma cars are the only thing better than the 6s and 4s Arrma cars to me.
Great video, can we please have a review of the rangie. I've been looking at 4.4tdv8's, just abit nervous lol 😆
Kev! Make your own RC brand! Game Over RC's!
