I remember developing that design. All of the exploding bows and figuring out how to get them dead straight. The thing about wider limbed Mollys is that if they aren't dead straight, they'll propeller twist so much worse than a 2" or 1 1/2" wide bow. Man, it's so nice to have learned through trial and a lot of errors to get them right.
Hi -8- Ball, Thank you. Yep, it is indeed quick. The paint work is definitely not subtle. That's what I like about it: it's one of those designs that looks really wrong but wrong in a good way.
Hi John, I have a hickory bow I am working on and I was thinking about burning some runic inscriptions on the front of it by heating the tip of a small nail. I have been wanting to do this to other bows but was uncertain if it would cause any damage to it over time , like splintering or something. Have you ever tried this on any of yours before, and if so what were the results?
Hi Robert, I wouldn't risk damaging the fibers on the back, but the belly is up for grabs. I've wood burned the heck out of a lot of bows' bellies. I bend heavy paperclips into shapes that can build patterns or letters, and heat them like brands with a benzomatic. Good luck and have fun.
Those are professional level peppers. There was a time in my youth when I could handle manly peppers like that. I'm back down to serranos, I'm afraid. It's up to you to carry that flag.

You should be very proud of those two bows. "They are very functional." Functional art, I say.

what for a paint do you use for the bows ?
Hi, Artist acrylics in the 2 fl.oz/59ml bottles.
Are those board or stave bows? They look like stave bows but I know you make a lot from boards as well. Beautiful and hard hitting by the looks of it!
Hi David this one is a board bow. Thank you, I appreciate you writing.
Excellent work👏🏻
